First Charter is an amazing transportation service that our children's program utilizes each year. Because of their services, the children in our program are able to have valuable offsite experiences each summer.

Great to work with. Were early for both the pickup and return. There was a last minute slight hiccup with the pickup location but everybody was very chill and relaxed about making accommodations. Would use them again.

We had a miscommunication about transportation for a field trip and needed a bus in 2 days. They were able to schedule us one on short notice and we had a great experience! They were right on time and our driver was great. We will definitely be using First Charter again!

They were great with our employees and ensured the employees knew what bus (we had rented two different buses that drove two different routes) they needed to take to get them back to their respective buildings.

Our bus trip went well
Our bus trip went well. Our driver was excellent, very nice and did an overall super job for our group that we had go up to Brighton ski resort. He was also very cautious in driving which is of most importance.

We booked our buses about 3 weeks before our event. The rate was way less than a typical charter and we were very happy with the service provided. It was very easy to get on the phone with First Charter and they were quick to answer my questions. The communication day of by the driver was great!

In years past we have been very satisfied with First Student services. This year it has been very difficult to get communication confirming buses for field trips. I've had to call a week or days before a trip to confirm which is very unsettling when you have 80 kids planning to go. I would love to see the fast communication and confirmation of buses that we've had in years past return.
Excellent experience and service
Setting up the bus and schedule was professionally managed. Bus was on time and driver was amazing.
First Student Miscommunication
Our trip was initially booked correctly.
A few weeks before our trip, we needed to change the pickup time to one hour earlier. I called First Charter Bus to request the time change. The representative said she needed to contact the dispatch center and they would get back with me when the time change was confirmed. However, she also said I should call back if I didn't hear anything. A week went by without hearing anything. So I called again, the representative reached out again and then confirmed our time change. I was emailed a confirmation of the time change. All seemed fine.
The day of our pickup, we had 32 kids sitting in the hot sun waiting for a bus that showed up an hour late! Apparently, while the time was changed on my confirmation sheet and on the info with First Charter HQ, it was NOT changed at the dispatch center. Therefore our bus came one hour late.
While I stayed on the line with HQ, the representative was continually trying to contact the dispatch center, but could not reach anyone. She was finally able to reach the area manager to whom I was able to talk directly. He was very sorry and provided a story about the first bus driver having a loss in the family that upset him enough that he couldn't drive so they had scrambled to find another driver. Okay. That's fine, things happen. But why was I not contacted about the delay? We could have arranged to have the kids NOT waiting in the hot sun for an hour waiting for the bus. That was unprofessional. He also told me the bus location and and from that location, we knew the bus would be another 1/2 an hour late. We moved all the kids back to another location. Then the bus showed up about 5 minutes later, so apparently the manager/dispatch center did not know exactly where the bus was enroute to us. A very frustrating morning!!!
We also had to contact all 32 parents to let them know to pick up their kiddos an hour later as the bus was late. The parents were not happy about this as it messed up their schedules too.
Other than the manager saying he was sorry at the time, we were not contacted later about this event to followup on the situation, nor were we offered any discount.
The bus driver was great, as were the representatives who booked our trips, but the miscommunication between the First Student HQ and the dispatch center was unacceptable and contributed to an unfortunate situation. Why was I emailed a confirmation with the correct time from First Student HQ, while the time was not changed on the paperwork at the dispatch center? And when the dispatch center was "aware" of the situation earlier that morning (according to the manager), a phone call to us would have saved a lot of consternation among many people.
I would use First Student again. However, when I book my trip, I will get the direct phone number of the dispatch center so that I can call a few days earlier, and the day OF the event, to assure that the trip will proceed as planned.
