Absolutely horrible and useless
France Visas UK and TLScontact have delivered one of the most ridiculous and infuriating visa experiences I have ever had. I was effectively denied a visa over travel insurance that cost £9.85, quite literally the cheapest part of my entire trip. Not the flights. Not the hotel. Not proof of funds. Not my travel history. Not any serious issue at all. No, the grand obstacle to travel apparently became a demand for a bank statement to prove that I had paid £9.85 for Coverwise insurance. That is the level of pettiness and bureaucratic nonsense applicants are dealing with.
What makes this even more absurd is that a simple look at Coverwise pricing shows exactly how low cost this policy is. Europe multi entry annual cover starts at £9.85 for Standard Plus, then rises through Bronze, Silver Plus and Gold. In other words, this was not some suspicious luxury transaction or a fabricated document involving large sums. It was a basic travel insurance policy of the sort any sensible person would recognise immediately. To derail an entire application over a delayed response on something so trivial is not due diligence. It is administrative farce.
The farce gets worse. TLS sent the request for this extra document by email and it landed in spam. I only found out after I contacted TLS about my passport and then logged in to see that the application had not been processed. The explanation given on the French visa portal is breathtaking in its stupidity: “Following the expiration of your session, or the modification of your application from another media, your changes have not been taken into account. Create a new application in a new group of applications.” That is not a serious refusal reason. That is the sort of error message you expect from a badly designed website in 2007, not from a system handling expensive international travel applications.
I have travelled to France before, including last October, and I used the same insurance without issue. I also visited France multiple times before Brexit. So this was not some first time applicant presenting an obviously defective case. This was a repeat traveller being tripped up by a shambolic process that appears more interested in technicalities and gotcha moments than common sense.
What really sticks in the throat is the complete lack of basic customer service. Applicants hand over phone numbers, email addresses and substantial fees, yet when a minor query arises there seems to be no effort whatsoever to resolve it sensibly. A five minute phone call could have sorted this out. Instead, the response was silence, delay and a refusal wrapped in a nonsensical portal message. After spending close to £500 on the application process, to have it collapse over a £9.85 insurance query is not merely disappointing. It is insulting.
Judging by recent public complaints, this sort of experience is not unique. TLScontact’s Trustpilot profile currently shows about 12,700 reviews with an average score around 3.6 out of 5, and recent reviewers have complained about a booking website that is a “shambles”, systems being down for days, technical issues causing missed appointments or missed studies and applicants being sent back and forth between TLScontact and the consulate with nobody taking ownership. France Visas’ own pages also make clear that visa decisions are taken by French consular authorities while TLS handles the application centre side, which helps explain why applicants can end up trapped in a useless blame shifting loop instead of getting one clear accountable answer.
The official France Visas guidance I reviewed emphasises that applicants must hold an insurance certificate covering medical and hospital expenses and repatriation, and it also states that refusals must be justifiable and may be challenged within 30 days. On those official pages, the emphasis is on having the insurance certificate and adequate cover. Against that backdrop, sinking an application over delayed proof of payment for a £9.85 policy looks less like serious scrutiny and more like petty bureaucratic box ticking dressed up as process.
France is a beautiful country, but no trip is worth being subjected to this kind of arrogant, chaotic and utterly disproportionate administration. Europe is bigger than France and after this experience I would rather spend my money somewhere that does not treat paying visitors like an inconvenience. France Visas UK and TLScontact have turned what should have been a straightforward application into an expensive lesson in incompetence. If this is the standard of service they consider acceptable, they should be embarrassed.
Incorrect details on processing time on their website
The website says the processing time for visas is 15 working days maximum, it has been 21 working days an we have not received the passport back even though they know my son needs to travel tomorrow. They never answer their 3 phone lines, neither the emails, they do not event the phone for urgent calls and emergencies. It is very embarrasing they cannot afford a receptionist or customer service staff to answer the emails and numerous complaints...

I got rejected for the first time in my life for a silly reason that can be solved in one email.
I kept emailing them rumours times but unfortunately no one respond asI have the right to appeal and when I went to the embassy the security told me theire different department.
I am very disappointed I feel like I've scammed they just took my the visa fees and the time and the transport fees to the VFS.
I'm very disappointed from this ridiculous service they should put a professional people to work there.

They charged me 98 pounds and when I went to the visa centre the cashier said they never charge anybody online, all payments are taken in the visa centre.

I would not even give this so called company 1 star! They scammed my money claiming they are helping me get a visa when really they were only planning on taking my money.
I have been emailing and calling them constantly but no response. When I emailed the last time saying I would report them to the police that’s when they replied saying they have apparently requested for a refund. It’s been over a week now and they still have not given my money back neither have they responded to any of my emails. This company needs to be investigated by the police and get taken down. They are scamming people and getting away with it easily.

Just a week ago we booked an appointment to apply for a visa toFrance, we thought it was a reliable company but we were wrong!
They charged £69 for premium service and told us that they are booking the appointment but they didn’t get back to us and it’s been over a week! There communication is rubbish! And when I called them they could hardly understand English and kept saying give us more time as there are no appointments till January 10th but bare in mind we paid for a premium service! It’s a total fake and I will be taking this further! They have ruined our trip to Paris and Disney land! And most of all ruined our Time , Bloody piers and frauds!!!

Avoid at all cost, they are liars and they will not deliver on the promise that they say they will do, they constantly tell you to email them when you’re speaking to them on the phone and they do not reply to your emails when you keep calling them back they just say please be patient please be patient, worst service I have ever received, I lost on days of work because they kept telling me my appointment will be tomorrow and they won’t refund you when they don’t deliver
Worth the risk!
I contacted them to book me an appointment cause TLS doesnt have one that is available before my departure date. It was a hussle with TLS cause they didnt double check my papers before submitting to france consulate thus resulting to return of my docs. Fast forward, i just tried my luck in this agency they didnt ask for any payment up until they were able to give me an appointment which i did double check first before paying. I had my appointment 4 days before my departure and now i got my visa (though i have to make a new travel and accom booking- free cancellation for it to be accepted by the consulate) . Thank you soo much! It is worth risking.. i already came back from my trip

As most people have already warned, this is a scam and these people are nothing but fraud.
I called them last week and they said they can give an appointment date this week for an express service. I made the payment and they never sent any confirmation and stopped picking up my calls. When I was finally able to get through, the same person from last week told me there was no appointment available for next 3 weeks and also that the Belgium embassy does not offer a premium appointment!!! No shame at all, I am amazed how this company is still allowed to operate by the government.
Don't get your money wasted in this and directly be in touch with TLS. These people are shameless and should be banned.
