I wish I knew about this app earlier!! I love it so much, I have a lot of bank accounts with my husband and extracting the balance for each bank asset is so painful every time I want to check our finances, I suffer in silence but this made it so much better and now I can have everything in one place! Love it love it love it!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

They Lost All My Data! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME.

Due to a bizarre system glitch, they lost 3 years of my manually categorised and renamed transactions - countless hours of work gone. What’s even worse, 1.5 years of transaction history completely disappeared from the app with no way to restore it.

The app was always far from perfect, constantly failing to deliver even the most basic functions:
- Categorisation rules never worked properly, requiring endless manual re-categorisation. Even after that, the app kept forgetting the categories I used and often assigned new transactions to the default ones.
- They never got merchant names right, and even well-known companies were sometimes displayed incorrectly, often without their logos.
- The app constantly logged me out, requiring me to set an access PIN almost daily.
- The list goes on and on, but you get the point.
Despite all these persistent issues, I stuck with the app, regularly reporting problems and hoping for improvements - only to be met with this final disaster.

They automatically deleted my data due to an expired CDR, which was clearly a system error, as just two days prior, I received a notification stating that my CDR had been renewed for another year. Who in their right mind would design an app this way? It’s my data, and the decision to delete it should be mine alone.

Support was useless as usual. They did nothing other than say, "It’s gone, nothing we can do." If you’re okay with trusting your financial data to a company with that attitude, then go for it. But after years of frustration with a fundamentally broken app, this was the last straw for me. I will never give them another chance and would never recommend it to anyone. So, don’t waste your time - use something else.

Needs improvement

With pocketbook and Moneybrilliant winding up, the choices of good money management apps has dwindled a fair bit.

I used to be a Moneybrilliant user before it wound up, but I used to dabble with Frollo as it had the cleanest user interface, and I just liked its all round aesthetic look. However I always stuck with Moneybrilliant for it's better features, and depth of categorisation at the time.

However, its soooooooo buggy. I'm literally logging support tickets constantly, and no offence to the support team, but they ask you the dumbest questions to try and resolve something so simple. Eg you've marked a transaction as "automotive", but it's not showing up as a debit in the automotive category summary when you look it up.

Another negative is there's no desktop feature, which is a pain, as the app is good for day to day, but every so often you want a more detailed view of where you're at with things.

Also, the bills section can't differentiate bills from the same retailer. Eg if you have subscriptions to Apple, but also apps that you pay for via Apple, you might have 2, 3 or 4 different transactions each month marked as "Apple", and the bills feature can't differentiate one from the other. It's the same if you use the same energy provider for Gas and Electric. It can't tell them apart. So the bills feature is pretty hopeless.

Pro's, like I said it is very clean, and aesthetically pleasing. And they recently made it so you can create categories from scratch, which is a great feature.

So much potential, but I think because it's free, and they do have paid B2B services that they provide, the quality of the free B2C service is average at best.
