We chose this product as a replacement for an earlier excellent Gardman bird feeder. The new product arrived without instructions as to how to fit the feeding and water trays.
These were difficult as you have to use a 45 degree
angle to fit them to the pole. Furthermore it was found that neither the feed or water trays were removable for cleaning so that bird hygiene could be compromised. After Gardman were contacted they tell me a video is available to show how these are fitted but I pointed out that there are people who do not have internet access. Gardman have pretty much
ignored the point of the non removable feed and water trays. A complete waste of money and will
have to be discarded. Bad design and cheaply
made no doubt overseas. DO NOT BUY!!!

I recently had an extremely disappointing experience with Westland. After making a payment through my business account, I requested a refund due to an issue with the product. Unfortunately, the refund was mistakenly sent to an account that doesn't belong to me, but to a former employee who had been terminated for unethical practices.
Despite my repeated requests for the refund to be processed to my original payment account, the company failed to address the issue correctly. This not only shows a lack of proper procedures but also raises serious concerns about their handling of sensitive customer information.
I provided them with the original payment receipt and all necessary details to correct the mistake, yet their response was inadequate. This has caused significant disruptions to my business, and their unwillingness to take immediate and appropriate action has left me with no choice but to consider legal action.
I had hoped for a strong partnership with westland, but this experience has shattered my trust. I strongly advise others to be cautious when dealing with them, especially regarding financial transactions.

I purchased the Flopro Hose and Cart System (30m) from Amazon as a gift for my father. The item, which costs over £120, is covered by a 3-year warranty. Unfortunately, after just 2.5 years, the handle snapped while my father was winding the hose.

Upon contacting Westland Horticulture, the owners of FloPro, I was informed that this issue is not covered under the warranty. They claimed that the hose cart system had been used incorrectly and suggested that the breakage was due to abuse and improper storage. They recommended that the product be stored indoors, which is unreasonable during the summer when my father uses it daily to water his plants.

Bought 2 boxes of fast growing lawn seed, specifically looked for the "deters birds" one. Put down on lawn, pigeons and magpies couldn't eat it quick enough! Took a picture and contacted Westland explaining I'd bought the "deter birds" seed and the birds had eaten it and it was expensive bird seed. Their response was " all birds will eat seed"
So don't waste your money, they are not interested. I've avoided since.

I bought two Gardman birdfeeders from Amazon. Hopefully with squirrel and Starling proof cages. First one arrived with incomplete parts, returned. Second one arrived, with 3 parts impossible to fit together, very poor manufacture and design. Also returned. Would love to know where these birdfeeders are made? Shall be looking elsewhere for my next bird feeder.

I see very bad reviews. My experience is quite the opposite, true, I was not buying compost which appears to be cxxp. I bought three Peckish nestboxes and the quality was excellent.
I searched Amazon first and those of a similar price were reported as being full of sharp edges and points,not so with Peckish. solid with good workmanship. Would not hesitate to buy again

Avoid! Extremely poor quality products that do not match description and suitability. Compost sold as premium seed medium at horrendous price is so heavy it contains over 10mm stones, weed seeds and fly larvae.

Customer service is AI based sending you unrelated chains of wikipedia scam in reply, completely uninterested in investigating just to put you off, so unprofessional and childish.

After sending the sample to them they came back 2 weeks later saying the pH test came back just fine so nothing wrong on their side, absolutely ridiculous!

I will never spend another penny on their products!

Twice I have bought Gardman no grow seed. The first time the seed was mouldy, the second time it was infested with Indian Meal Moth which then spread larvae into my kitchen through the opened bag!! I thought the first purchase was just bad luck, but never again!

I decided to install bubblewrap into my greenhouse. I required fixing clips. I purchased several packs of 60 Fixing Clips. The clip is in two parts. A washer and the clip. They go together. I thought i was buying 60 clips. The label states "assorted packed of 60". This is a total confidence trick. And intended to deceive. There is in fact only 30 clips. The washer and clip go together. Gardman should be ashamed of themselves for trying to dupe their customers who are buying in good faith..

Bought Growing Success Bug Stop spray for prevention of bug infestations on my succulents as advised on the label ('certified organic, totally safe blah-blah-blah'). After one moderate application almost all of them were badly burnt and scarred. Customer Support was arrogant bordering with being rude claiming that it was my fault (of course!). She confirmed that the product was tested in vivo but refused to provide me with any details on ingredients or product test results claiming that it is commercially sensitive information although the product seems to be discontinued (launched in May 2022!) as there are no traces of this product on Westland website (not even in Retired products!). Had a poor experience with Westland New Horizon compost too. The sweet corn seeds planted in this freshly bought compost germinated fast on the heat pad but all of them died within two weeks because of fungal infection (roots were covered with white fungus). Thought the seeds were infected but, as still had some seeds remaining in the pack, I just planted them directly into the soil outdoors instead of troughing away and ALL of them germinated and turned into healthy plants! Sure the compost was infected and that smart Technical Advisor would surely advise that it was my fault! Would never buy ANY Westland product in my life not only because the quality is very poor but also products are hazardous for use.

I used to use Westland products for Top Soil for annual maintenance on the lawns. In addition their multi-purpose lawn seed. However, last time I bought their Topsoil it was full of stones and rubbish, which I had to rake off. This spring I bought their lawn seed from B&M but noticed it had Surestart included in the title, plus ‘Quality lawn seed: Lush Green family lawn. Firstly it took months to germinate after watering daily. Then to my horror it was anything but as stated on the pack. The grass was thick leaved and nothing like the other established (Westland) fine grass! If it is supposed to be different to their normal multi-purpose, then it should be stated on the packet! My only saving grace is it was a patch I had altered to change the shape of the lawn which I will now be digging up and replacing with another make. I am done with Westland products. If B&M are unknowingly selling fake products, now is your chance to track the supplier down. It shouldn’t be that difficult. I will be spreading the rest of the packet for the cows to eat, if it germinates before winter? If I could rate it ‘O’ star I would, for day light robbery!

I bought 3 gardman nyger bird feeders got them home put the nyger seed in and hung them.
Not one bird would go near the steel feeder so I put a green plastic feeder back and hey ho they are back again. That was a complete waste of £30 that I can't afford. I love to watch the baby birds when mum brings them.
Message is don't buy steel feeders birds don't like them.

Just message to make you gardeners aware of very poor product from company called Westland Horticulture Ltd.

I purchased 32 bags of Westland Top Soil from my local shop in order to fill my raised beds inside my polly tunnel. After 3 weeks Mares Tail was growing at rapid rate in each raised bed. The soil was full of mares tail roots and small stones. The information on the bag states weed free and graded. To stop these weeds spreading to my entire garden and neighbours I had to re bag the soil and take to tip.

I Contacted Garden Health and reported my findings, their response was it has not been stored correctly by the company who sold the soil or wind or birds have brought the seeds into my polly tunnel. Very poor response from Garden Health.

I have purchased another bag and this will be sent to trading standards for their analysis, as advised, waiting their response. .

Garden health market under Westland and Resolve as well as other brands. This is a general review to say I have found their Westland products to be poor. Their lawn seed in particular failed to germinate and their customer service team just assumed it was my fault and that I had not used it correctly. I bought it online from a company they were unaware of and they gave the impression they did not care as it was not one of their known suppliers and it could be a fake Westland product. Also found their lawn fertilizer not to be as good as other brands tried, so not planning to use any of their products again. Sorry guys but poor product followed by poor customer care means my hard-earned pounds will be spent elsewhere.

Got some multipurpose compost to start off some tomatoes and cucumber plants. Done this loads of times without a problem. But the compost quickly started growing mushrooms at a very high and fast rate. So fast that I would remove them come back an hour later and there would be hundreds more. The cucumber plants was ok with it but the tomato plants died shortly after coming up because the mushrooms basically sucked all of the moisture out of the compost. I emailed Westland to try and get them to resolve it but they just refused point blank to achnowlege the problem and instead I got a quite patronising response. I originally asked about a replacement I wasn't after any money. Maybe I got the wrong product to begin with they could have offered me advice but instead I got a response that falls short of what I would expect from a reputable company.

There should be a zero star rating rating, what a load of rubbish, bought two rose arches which we was going to put end on end to make one, the pre drilled holes misaligned badly, wood was already split, screws way too long you could have a hanging basket on them, screws missing, didnt bother contacting the comapny as judging by the workmanship I know i would of got please return to us etc, wasting even more time taking it apart, never again would i buy this brand, save your money

The so say Squirrel proof feeders are most definitely NOT!
After just a couple of months the ingenious little critters learned to get their teeth under the lids and flip them off and nose dive down the columns… I resorted to gorilla taping lids on. Rather than give up they persevered and managed to manoeuvre the cage from the main cap leaving it suspended on its hanger whilst they gorged themselves on contents from the cage now crashed on the ground. They could well match the Honey Badger!!! Useless cage design on many counts.

Gardman easy picker my second and same problem trigger broke on both not substantial enough it needs to be solid I used both for about 4 hours

This company is more commonly known as Westland but for some reason they do not wish to be listed under that name. They manufacture many garden products under different brand names, the most widely known commodity is perhaps compost under various brand names including Westland and Arthur Bowers.

My complaint with them is that the stated volume of compost on some (if not all - I haven't measured them all) of their bags is misleading. My experience has been that even fluffing the compost up to allow air to expand the volume will not even get close to the volume stated on the bag. They claim that their method of measurement has been approved by Trading Standards so complaints need to go to Trading Standards as it is definitely misleading to the public just as the name of this company is. Fantastic service from one of your reps. I was in garden centre in the northwest and spoke to a young man I believe was called Sam, who works for the company, who was there at that moment. He gave me lots of tips and excellent advice on individual products. My lawn has instantly improved since then!!
