Customer service non existent often…

Customer service non existent often missing delivery day and accounts department messing up regularly messing up direct debit payments and ending up refusing delivery and shortage of gas gas is crucial to the licence trade and they don't care if you run out i have asked on several occasions to speak to a senior air products manager who own gas direct but they say i can't i believe this is because they don't want their incompetence exposed to their parent company don't use them totally useless

Overall good experience

Overall good experience with gas direct. I used to order Mig welding gas and propane from them and still use them for patio gas for my heater. Friendly and helpful phone and counter staff.

We had an audit on Wednesday that…

We had an audit on Wednesday that showed we'd been charged rental on 5 cylinders for 18 months that we never had on our site, never ordered to our site and never used.

We've asked for everything to be fairly returned and everything to be restored to a fair playing field - i.e. refund the 18 months of 5 cylinder rentals that were just added to our account which we never used or ordered.

This company is refusing and blaming us for not checking invoices. The customer service was awful, we were mocked and laughed at. It's a total disgrace. We have been customers for over 6 years and we've had storm damage recently resulting in a loss of electric and trade for 3 months from December to March.

EVERY company we have a business relationship has helped us greatly - except Gas Direct Cymru. We feel bullied, we feel unappreciated and we feel attacked.

I cannot give 0 stars - shady business practices - rented a cylinder - asked them to collect -they left it an extra month them charged for the month AND collection - robbing bar stewards - I hope they go bust - I will cheer when they do

Telephone system really seems so poor?
Tried three times to get to talk about a gas refill on a motorhome and the telephonist the other end was barely coming through ? Tried on the mobile too ...they must be losing a fair bit of custom because of this issue surely?

TOTAL SHAMBLES!

These people are still harassing me for money that I do not owe them.

I stopped using them after they were taken over as deliveries never turned up.

Spent hours on the phone trying to get empties taken away but it was impossible to get through. Eventually collected them months later but they're trying to charge me for rental even though they I had tried to return them!

SCAMMERS! AVOID!

Reliable service from Gas Direct

Ran out of gas on Sunday, ordered replacement yesterday (Monday) delivered today (Tuesday) by Abdul. Very pleasant efficient young man, who installed it for me and then suggested that I checked it to make sure all was well, which it was. Thanks to Abdul I am once again cooking with gas. Great service

Unacceptable Customer Service and Inefficiency at Gas Direct

I am utterly disappointed with my recent dealings with Gas Direct, a firm from which I anticipated reliability, especially after its takeover of Dixons, a previously exemplary supplier. My ordeal began with what should have been a straightforward endeavour to place a large order, yet quickly devolved into a frustrating tale of wasted time and effort.

For three consecutive days, I found myself ensnared in an apparently interminable hold queue, each extending beyond 30 minutes, without any success in connecting with a representative to place my order. Acknowledging the futility of further telephone attempts, I opted to take matters into my own hands and drove 40 minutes to their Westerhope office, expecting a resolution. Regrettably, the situation only deteriorated further from that point.

Upon my arrival, I was informed, to my dismay, that orders could only be placed via telephone—a bewildering policy considering my repeated and unsuccessful attempts to do precisely that. When I explained my predicament, I was met with the explanation that they were "just so busy," which seemed more an excuse than a legitimate reason for such subpar customer service.

The situation was further exacerbated by their failure to locate my account in their system. I was told that my old account number had become obsolete following their change of ownership, yet, astonishingly, I had never been issued a new account number. The lack of communication and preparation on their part was bewildering.

The indifference and complacency exhibited by the staff member I dealt with were the final straws. The evident absence of fundamental customer service principles made it abundantly clear that my business was neither valued nor desired.

Steer well clear of this company

Steer well clear of this company, Newark has been taken over and is now a total shambles.
I've sourced another supplier after 13 years, I strongly suggest you do the same. Can't speak to anyone unless you've got a spare hour plus and when you do nobody is interested. Keep reading that things are improving, teething problems etc. Total rubbish.

What a joke off a company!!
After ordering a replacement cylinder they failed to deliver.
After speaking to a complete useless customer service they said they have run out of argon And only Have empty cylinders in the yard.
And didn't know when they will have any in stock... Pay peanuts you definitely get monkeys.
Go elsewhere and save yourself down time like we have due to their complete useless customer service

Dealt with Dixon's of Westerhope…

Dealt with Dixon's of Westerhope Newcastle upon Tyne for 20 years before this lot of clowns at Gas Direct took over the company last year. I've never previously had any problems getting an order from Dixons and always order well in advance, however even though they deliver to the village twice weekly orders are being missed off. I've ran out of gas twice now in the last three months because they can't deliver on time. Rang them this morning chasing the order as should have been here today to be told that the order is scheduled for Tuesday, 11 days after placing it. No sympathy whatsoever when I told them I will run out of gas tomorrow or Saturday. They have a monopoly as no other supplier will deliver into the area so get away with doing what they like with no redress. Local MP was pretty useless too as the letter she got back from the energy secretary said they had no ppl lans to look into the LPG sector even though it's the biggest monopoly in the UK as these LPG companies will not encroach each other's areas to make the market competitive. They are all guilty of maximizing their profits at the expense of vulnerable people in the rural economy

Honestly in 30 years of procurement I don't remember a worst case of a board having screwed up their business in such an epic way.

Used to be a decent company to deal with, until they closed all the reginal offices, now you have to call one call centre, 30 minutes wait every time you call, and you have to call them a lot, as orders don't arrive, no accountability, no one is bothered.

I made a complaint and someone was supposed to call me back within 24 to 48 hours that was a week ago, that tells you everything. I suggest you don't put yourselves through the pain, go elsewhere.

been using Gas Direct Newark for many years and always had a good service. but now it's rubbish call handling systems can leaving you waiting for ages. either sort this out Gas Direct or I'll take my business elsewhere...

DO NOT USE GAS DIRECT

We are dependant on cellar gases to run our cafe / bar and without a word of warning, this national company, having bought up all the small suppliers, has completely abandoned it's customers. THEY DO NOT RESPOND TO EMAILS. THEY DO NOT PICK THE PHONE UP. Absolutely shocking. And we have no where else to go ...
