GearTrade--Excellent Product and Service!

I ordered a pair of skis through GearTrade this past spring. The order was easy to place, and the spring sale price was perfect! They arrived in a week, as promised. Unfortunately, before I received the skis, the box had been run into by a forklift, which cut the box, scraped one of the ski bases, and bent the metal edge on that ski.
GearTrade did a great job of being the intermediary between me and ProSki where the skis apparently originated. They got ProSki to send me a new pair of skis right away — again, arriving in about a week. Later, they sent me a mailing label so I could return the damaged pair to ProSki for free. Despite the initial disappointment of receiving damaged skis, the replacement and return went smoothly, with GearTrade very prompt in answering my questions and keeping me in the loop. I highly recommend dealing with GearTrade!

Donot buy from thus company

Donot buy from this company. They sent the wrong size / used insoles and they make the return so impossible. We have to pay for shipping and restocking fee for the used/ wrong size insoles, sent by them. it is unethical and against the public heath to send a an USED / dirty item to the customer it isnot hygienic.

Happy with purchases

I really like the sustainability mission and the prices are amazing. I have gotten some great jackets for 1/4 of the retail price.
I have placed 4 orders with them over the past year. One of the orders got lost in the mail, but i did get a refund. The shipping is SO slow and expensive.

Don't buy an inflatable sleeping pad unless you plan to use it immediately. Purchased a pad March 1st. Took it out this weekend and it slowly deflated overnight. Geartrade won't help because they "quality control"tested it. No holes in it- seems to be a faulty valve.

Fantastic Circular Economy

Easy to use, gear condition is accurate. Got a free gingin melted into my new pack (did not try it). Great way to participate in circular economy. I buy from them pretty frequently, hardly ever any issues. Keep up the great work.

HORRIBLE!

HORRIBLE!! Took 12 weeks to open the box of gear that I sent to them, after saying it would take 3-5 weeks. Gear was brand new with tags and they greatly underpriced everything. On top of that, they take almost 50% of the profit once it sells. Waste of time and money to send anything to them.

Hands down best thieves I've ever known . They get you to send them your shit with completely false and dishonest time frames on turnaround. I would be happy to recommend them to anyone that just has too much valuable shit.
10 stars for false advertisement. They did not provide a single of the services the advertise.

Sent them 2 pairs of boots, liners and a pair of skiis. After 10 weeks with no activity or even acknowledging they received my items, and 3 just inquiry and update only emails from me, they agreed to "prioritize" my items and fast track. 3 weeks still till marked for sale on one item only, another two weeks for second.they lost my 3rd item, skiis, paid $100 for them through insurance. Valued at almost 4. 2 months later sold one pair of boots, held payout another 2 weeks. Sold 2nd pair of boots, then when no payout after 3 weeks, I sent email, and was told they were returned for the first time. I expressed my unhappiness over the whole process due to the deceitful claims And lack of just honest communication, just checked after another month and they kept my other boots as donated.

In conclusion, if you have valuable shit just laying around and need a few extra dollars, but just don't have time to sell yourself, they would be happy to take them and list them 3 weeks after the season for the items is over. Highly recommend, these guys are Amazing for that.

Got a pair of left gloves

Bought a pair of gloves and both ended up being the left hand. Was not disclosed in the description and barely visible in the picture, you'd have to be looking for it but then when I went back I did notice it. I knew this glove would fit since I had used them before so threw them in my ski gear when I got the package. When I got them out to use I obviously couldn't, I may have 2 left feet, but not 2 left hands, and it apparently was passed their return timeframe, but even after they acknowledged they sent a pair of left handed gloves, they wouldn't do anything to fix it. I've ordered thousands of dollars from them over the years but this was enough I won't again, just not ok with that type of customer service, particularly for a repeat customer who frequently had been buying from them. It's not about the fact I purchased unusable gloves for just $30, it's just a company who sells a misrepresented product and then won't take responsibility for it even after admitting they screwed up, is really just a company you should avoid giving your money to.

As a seller, despite the convenience of sending your gear and not dealing w/the extra work with eBay or FB, I’ll never use them again. Good concept but it feels like the business is being managed by a team of one. Every part of the process has taken an eternity. After requesting a box (big mistake) to initiate my sale in early Feb, and finally sending my gear via FedEx on Feb 27, I finally received an acknowledgement email on Mar 9th indicating it will take 3-5 weeks to ‘process’. All in, after contacting Geartrade on/around Feb 10th, I will be lucky if my items post by early/mid April. Note, my one purchase went smoothly but I would not recommend using them as a seller unless turnaround time is not a concern.

I ordered attachments for my rooftop…

I ordered attachments for my rooftop kayak carrier. The parts were listed as “good”. When received they look almost brand new. I have purchased others over the years, I’ve had the carrier for 20 years, and they are usually barely useable. Additionally the service was outstanding, fast and easy. I have not even mentioned the price was well below others that I found

I've also had occasion to contact customer service and have received prompt responses that addressed my issue(s).

I’ve been working with Geartrade from almost a year now and I cannot be any more happy. Yes, the sales take long but that’s the nature of the beast but the response time with the Customer Service is amazing. I just purchased an item today for my own collection. very happy Geartrade is my go to when I’m looking sell back some backpacks. They are A pleasure to work with. Continue success, my friends and many more years to come.

Be aware that it is 14 day only return…

Be aware that it is 14 day only return policy even around the holidays. Bought bindings for my daughter’s snowboard end of November as a Christmas gift. Went to have them put on and they are the wrong ones. Emailed asking if return policy was different around holidays it is not.

Helpful Customer Service

I bought hiking poles and I couldn’t figure out how to use them (not twist to lock like my previous set). Customer care emailed with me multiple times and found how-to videos that showed me how they worked. I’ve ordered several times and always had a good experience. Sometimes the color description is off a little bit (I got a shirt I would call more olive than grey) and there is a fee to return if you don’t choose package protection- but everything is as described and it is great to find used gear!

Very slow refund

Very slow refund, took a month after GearTrade received my return.

Also, GearTrade now has a mandatory restocking fee, and the buyer pays shipping both ways.

Had an issue and GearTrade came through

Made 2 prior used snowboard purchases and item was exactly as described, no issues. Found a snowboard that I was in search of for a few years still "New in Wrap" Condition was Excellent with the only note "top sheet has chips from storage"
Bought in September, Season in So Cal doesn't begin until late Nov/early Dec. When the snowboard arrived, I pulled it out of the box, did a quick exam, saw the deck chips and being it was still wrapped (in kind of a blurry/dirty wrap), thought nothing of it and slid it back in the box. Fast forward 2 months, now that the season is here - I pull it out of the box and tear off the wrap, topsheet has tons of scratches and multiple binding markings. Edges are all chewed up and scraped, some parts even rusted. Base has a core shot and lots of scratches like it was ridden over rocks.
Board was definitely a demo or rental.
I know there is a 14 day "no questions asked return policy", but given the snowboard was wrapped (is a blurry/murky wrap) and given the description, I trusted it was a new snowboard, not a used demo or rental that someone shrink wrapped and sold as "Excellent - still in wrap"

Update - Kayn from GearTrade came through by sending a free return shipping label for a full refund. My trust in GearTrade has been restored.

Experienced a ton of issues with…

Experienced a ton of issues with getting a box shipped to me for my gear. Expressed apprehension about equipment getting lost and was reassured that GearTrade pays for shopping insurance. Unfortunately the two pairs of brand new ski boots (2025 & 2026) that collectively cost $1200 were lost. I provided receipts for both boots and GearTrade offered $100 total, not even for each pair of boots. They told me it’s because the shipping company will likely not pay more. I have no faith that if they do receive a higher amount for insurance coverage they will give it to me. For a company that’s supposedly experienced in shipping and reselling expensive outdoor equipment it’s shocking that this happened. Given issues with receiving the box and shipping it to them, I would not feel great about buying gear from them either. If for some reason a solution is presented by GearTrade I’ll update my review but thus far customer service has been shit
