Brilliant firm

Wanted to buy a Lazy Kate but was not sure if my bobbins would fit , the lady l spoke to measured the lazy Kate to check for me pleased to say they would .Ordered on Monday delivered on Tuesday ,as usual a wonderful fast service with pleasant helpful staff Thank you

So disappointed!

So disappointed!
I first used George Weil in the 90’s and they have always been my first choice for supplies.
Unfortunately, this time they sent the parcel with free delivery, and for some unfathomable reason they insist on using Royal Mail. The tracking number is not recognised, it’s been a week and no parcel - and they blithely tell me that I have to wait at least 15 Working Days - which means 3 weeks before they will consider sending a replacement!
So not only have I spent a lot of money, I don’t have the goods, will have to wait before getting a refund, and I have been forced to buy from elsewhere, as I have a limited amount of time for this project.
Bitterly disappointed with the lack of customer care, and this looks like being the last time I ever consider using them.
I realise that in one way it’s not their fault - other than they chose to use Royal Mail, but not sending out a replacement is the poorest response I have encountered to a non delivery….

I must add two things - one, when a company says ‘you have to wait’ I did take that as the answer - I’m not sure what more I was supposed to say…we have exchanged 12 emails on this topic….

Two, we did agree to wait and see if the parcel turned up, which it didn’t - the tracking message is the same, so George Weil has refunded me in full.

I do feel for all companies that use Royal Mail - it has become gradually worse over the last 6 months - it’s not the directions - all the other delivery companies manage to leave things, but it is undoubtedly having an impact - I am getting to the stage where I won’t order from a company that uses them.

I do hope that George Weil manages to to be reimbursed by them too!

Karen, as you know, we use 1st Class post for all shipments under 2Kg, which covered this order.
We send around 150 of these by 1st class post each week and even short delays are extremely rare. Your parcel was sent on Monday 27 Jan with your instruction: 'Ok to leave in carport, thank you'
You first contacted us at 9:25 on Friday 31 Jan to ask how your parcel was sent and also for tracking information.
We replied by 9:48 the same day with the information you requested and noting that 'Unfortunately we have to wait 15 working days before we can re-send and claim for a lost parcel.' The reason behind this, is that the very few delayed parcels turn up within a very few days. This makes sending a replacement parcel troublesome for the customer who then has to deliver the second delivery back to Royal Mail office.
You replied within minutes observing that you hoped it arrived before Monday. You made no request for a replacement to be sent.
The Post Office are clear that they do not consider a parcel as 'lost' until 15 working days have passed.
On the Monday Feb 3rd, you placed your comments above on Trust Pilot without any attempt to make contact with us to discuss a replacement parcel. We wrote at 14:57 to say:
'This is a little disappointing as we could have resolved the problem without the negative feedback.'
The Royal Mail site shows no tracking detail and states 'An update will be provided when we attempt to deliver your item'. Beyond that information we have no idea what has happened to your parcel.
We have had no further communication from you.
At this point it would help if you could let us know whether you require a refund or a replacement parcel to be sent.
Obviously we will refund the cost of your returning the second parcel if you choose to have a replacement sent.

Excellent online experience!

Excellent online experience with George Weil. I was mildly anxious about ordering as I hadn’t used this company before, and I couldn’t find many reviews. I need not have worried - I ordered a Hat Shaper from their website (which is easy to navigate and to make payment). Very prompt dispatch and delivery, and my item arrived beautifully packaged and in first class condition. Very pleased, thank you!

Excellent service

I ordered a weaving loom, it was dispatched straight away with full tracking and arrived super quick. After opening I realised that a small part was missing so I contacted the store and they sent me out the missing part next day delivery. Great service, good price. Will definitely use again.

I can recommend for weaving and spinning equipment

I have ordered several items from George Weil for weaving and spinning. Good competitive pricing. Excellent customer information and they all arrived quickly each time even orders the week before Christmas. Items well packaged.

Overall very good

Good experience and quality seems fine!
There was a bit to be desired in the packing of the dyes. There was madder powder all over the inside of the cardboard box. So glad I unpacked it in the kitchen.
Otherwise, great communication and speedy delievery.
Would have been a 5 star if it hadnt been for the powdery experience

Excellent buying experience

Great Company. I've ordered three different sets of Craft Supplies from George Weil now and every one has been brilliant (it's always a bit of a worry when you start to use a new company). This review has come about because I ordered Acid dyes at midday yesterday and they turned up this morning. Very impressed with turnaround, quality and prices. I can't comment on their customer service as I've had nothing to moan about so far.
