Five star especially on a Wednesday when it's quiz night. Great quiz host; cool bar staff. Amazing atmos

I was really disappointed with my recent visit. I ordered fries but was given chips instead. When I raised it with a member of staff, they said they would check, but never came back. Around ten minutes after we had finished our meal, the fries eventually arrived – far too late to enjoy. I also ordered the cod goujon sandwich, but the bread was stale. When I mentioned this to the staff, I was told, “It’s cut and then frozen.” This confirmed what i thought, i dont expect a sandwich to be made from pre frozen bread, – I couldn’t eat it and picked out the fish, The salad on the sandwich wasnt washed and you could feel the grit from soil. Very sloppy work Overall, the quality of food and service was very poor, and I left feeling very let down.

Make it worse that you have to Pre Pay for food - now i see why. Avoid

The mount orrell . Superb room 100% comfy bed 100% staff very helfull in the restaurant . I stay there every few months . Well done

The staff appear to be trained in the fact that the customer is a hindrance.

They close up pumps one-and-a-half hours before closing time with cling film.

The staff are miserable, a reflection on the Managers.

Staff appear to only be here for the money, rather than to provide service.

Typically British, but when the Manager refused to help out on a very busy evening because he was having "a nap", he needs to go.

Another great meal at the fox under the hill pub Shooter's Hill,south east London...
steak was delicious cooked perfectly...
The staff are polite and friendly, especially Kim who served us so good with our daughter and Seb the manager who is always very helpful and welcoming ...

Have used many Chef and Brewer pubs across the country over the years and normally have a good experience so thought we would try the Roebuck on our stay in the Preston area. What a mistake…. Asked for a quiet table on the booking form and got two members of staff (one called Ashleigh) slagging off and swearing loudly about another member of staff with a local behind a separator screen between our table and the kitchen door. We had to ask them to stop as it was becoming unacceptable to the extent we nearly walked out…. Yes an apology given but didn’t stop us wanting to get out of the pub as quick as possible after food was finished. Talking of food we ordered the Pork Belly and Chicken Duo; We could hear the bell being rung from the kitchen to say food ready to come out but it took the chef coming out after a good couple of minutes to ask one of the “swearing ladies” to actually respond to the bell and serve our food. It was just about warm enough to eat, Pork Belly was nice but nearly too cold to eat and the chicken duo had the smallest lukewarm pieces of chicken I have ever been served for a main meal in my 60+ years on this planet of ours, overall not the nicest food to eat but we were hungry after a days travelling to get to the Preston area. From our experience I would say there is some obvious staff discord going on leading to a bad atmosphere and cold food for customers to “put up with”. We will think twice before trying another Chef and Brewer in the future!

I went to The Sale Marsland Rd Sale on Sunday 24th August and had the roast dinner. The food was dreadful. Luke warm soggy, chewy vegetables and Yorkshire pudding. The lamb shank was not freshly cooked and reheated. The lady who served us did offer us some drinks but we declined as we already had got drinks. Half the food was left.

decided to go to the greene king in luton (biscot mill) and i thought we were in for a classic sunday roast, instead we got a plate from a scene of kitchen nightmares. the roasted potatoes looked like they were taken from pompeii. carrots were fine, yorkshire puddings were bit mushy but wow those peas were something else but the worst was the meat. really tough, so chewy i was stuck on 1 piece for 3 minutes and that gravy tasted like melted dirt. there is a first for everything and a last for everything and this is definetly both

Just stayed at the Pen & Parchment hotel in Stratford Upon Avon ( owned and run by Greene King )
Check in very quick and staff very informative and welcoming
Room was of a high standard and very clean
Quality bedding and mattress and very comfortable
All toiletries provided plus kettle for tea & coffee
Pub / hotel right in the town centre and although we managed to park on site there is limited parking but highly recommend this place to spend one or a few nights and will definitely stay here again

Having read Greene King's response to the Manor Farm incident where people have been refused entry for wearing clothes with the Union Flag on, I am absolutely disgusted. I will never visit another Greene King pub again and hope you reap what you sow by going into administration as a result of alienating the hard working patriotic British population. Shame on you.

We went to the Red Lion at Milton Bryant and were so disappointed. The service was so slow. My husband had the lamb pie and only had four small pieces in the pie.
We have been to this pub lots of times in the past and had great food and good service. Something has gone wrong

Visited 2 Green King pubs in London today both failed miserably for Gluten Free food. Brewmaater Leicester square Out of Stock of ALL g.f. snacks, I sat and ate a packet of my own Pom Bears. The Green King The Travellers Tavern advertising said Pigs in blankets( which on trying to order were only at Christmas!!!! It's August why we're they on the menu? Tried ordering Smashed potato... out of stock, chose G.F. chips instead... not available!!!! Ended up with a plate of 8 sausages! That's it, 8 sausages!

At the Washington pub blackpool and its shocking. Tables filthy full of dirty dishes, tables awful just terrible. Get a grip greene king

Spent a lovely couple of hours at The Golden Fleece in Lymm today. We were given a warm welcome from the manager and his friendly staff. We ordered drinks and two filled ciabattas from the lunch menu, which were delicious and a very reasonable price! The atmosphere was very relaxed and the service excellent. A gorgeous pub with a fabulous beer garden where you can sit overlooking the canal.

Apps useless 2 X been charged twice
From one in Scunthorpe then the other in Goole

Never go to this chain of pub again can't just be a system thing not bad if you can double your money on customers.

Avoid at all costs !!! Worst food out I have ever had ! Have visited The Hollington Oak in st Leonard’s on sea . Firstly rang to book four people for roast . Got there reminded staff that guests were arriving in 15 mins to eat roast . When I went to order I was told one portion of beef left and was not able to order from main menu ! . Leaving a choice of turkey or one choice of a pie . The main meals were absolutely revolting ! . Vegetables were rock hard , roast potatoes were black . The beef was inedible , like chewing the sole of a flip flop . All food was lukewarm warm . No carrot sticks for the kids starter . Sat for 60 mins ( I kid you not ) between courses . Embarrassing as this was supposed to be a birthday celebration. !!! Do not waste your money

Bar staff excellent Giv and Jolene at the Hungry Fox were welcoming, friendly and went above and beyond to make our visit pleasant
These two staff members are not only a credit to the management at the Hungry Fox Hempstead Valley in Gillingham Kent but a credit to the Greene King name
Thank you ladies for a pleasant warm welcome I will be back

THE DEANSGATE, MANCHESTER. Firstly, no criticisms of the bar staff at this venue; the two young ladies tried their best and were as helpful as possible, but having been recommended this pub, it was disappointing to find NO draught real ales for sale, and a promised 40 minute wait for pie and chips, as apparently the pub manager was having to do the cooking alone. Being on a tight time schedule this required some adjustment to get a hot meal here. Apparently the problem was that building work immediately obvious prevented delivery of the ales, (but apparently not the draught lagers !)

Went to lakeside Milton Keynes. Tried three times to order various things off the menu. All unavailable. Only one person serving as the other was looking at something comical on his phone.
Went to a family owed Turkish restaurant where they were pleased to see us, did really nice food and everything was available.
Back in a few weeks, probably not worth bothering with Greene king
