1 star is way too generous….

I posted 3 times in the past week… 2 times they removed it within 2 minutes after posting , 1 time they removed after 24 hours after posting… all 3 times saying add its not in the right category or something like that…. I post add with them for 15 years I know what i am doing !!!
They charge all 3 times and no refund whatsoever
They don’t care…. They take your money and don’t give a s…..
Appalling behaviour

The upgraded version of the Gumtree app no longer shows notifications for new listings for saved searches and I never receive any notifications for messages so I have to check the app or my emails repeatedly. I have used Gumtree since 2012 but no longer will I be wasting my time! It seems that the app could not have been rigorously tested

Despite being in Northern Ireland Gumtree very kindly return searches for stuff in Scotland. This makes the site practically unusable having to sift through items that aren't even in this country! Have reported this before but just get blah, blah, blah from customer service.

This is the worst place to sell & the worst company to deal with i have been registered with Gumtree for over 12 years not anymore its a joke now can not speck with anyone about my account also have sent emails / messages to there ceo Mr Harper with no response at all please dont bother with Gumtree when there is better places to sell your unwanted items.

As an employer looking to recruit employee I paid £18 to list the job I was advertising. Gumtree didn't hesitate to take the payment. But the job never got listed. Instead I just have a screen that says my listing is in a queue. It has been that way for some time now. I have even emailed gumtree multiple times telling them to refund my money. But they have never replied. Dont pay to advertise on gumtree. It's a complete scam

Listed kittens forsale and ended up paying £21 for the advert, it was reported maliciously and taken down. Tried to explain it was a malicious report and gumtree said they don't get involved with buy/seller disputes. Resisted the advert, they deleted and kept another £21. Absolute scam and can't contact anyone and can't get refunds. £42 lost and still no advert. Wouldn't use again

I have been scammed a few times as a results of my ads. People writing nonsense and having to block them.
Once I reached the limit, I decided to delete (not simply deactivate) my gumtree account. That’s when issues arose. Nobody replies. They simply blackmail you. At a certain point I receive a reply from gumtree and felt finally relieved till I read the content: they were talking about a certain pet ads policy and the non compliance of my ads. I am not quite sure what they were talking about as I never had any pet nor advertised any. So I got back to them and said that I need my account to be deleted as I am honestly fed up of having to deal with random people messaging me about my kitchen ware / garden ads. No reply. And the chat simply is never available. A scam. I will copy the ombudsman for consumers on this as I am not too sure it’s legal to keep someone locked on a website when they clearly ask several times to delete their account. Very bad experience.

My experience was great he he turned up at 330am am was very professional would recommend to anyone very professional

FULL OF MOTOR TRADERS GUISING AS PRIVATE SELLERS AND MISLEADING BUYERS WHILST GENUINE HONEST TRADERS ARE GIVEN NO HELP WITH THESE VERY DISHONEST PEOPLE THIS SITE IS NOT POLICED PROPERLY AT ALL

Spotted a seller who was selling her car without any mention that it was an insurance write off. Met the seller who blatantly lied to us about the car, wouldnt show their id (driving license) or receipt of purchase.
Reported to Gumtree with full evidence several times, but the ad is still there.

Posted an add then had to pay £2 for it to be uploaded then my add was removed for violating the rules i didnt even get my money back

Not sure what's happened with Gumtree but it's gotten awful.
Any adds I put up get automatically removed so it's unusable. I once paid for an add that was automatically removed too. I can't see any reason why they would have been. Id stick to Facebook marketplace where it's free and less nonsense making it difficult to do what the website is actually for.

My ad is removed and i cannot find the reason, apparantly they email the reason which is a lie.....All they do is keep referring me to " General Posting Policies article." which is nonsense as it doesn't specify the reason my ad is removed.

Wow! I can see why Gumtree has such negative reviews. had an appalling experience with Buhle from customer "service" who couldn't give a monkeys about helping. Glitch on their website, unable to message people, sent screen shots. no interest in helping me to solve it.

Ridiculous system rules in place!
I've used gumtree for years, most recent previous usage was about 1 year ago.
Went to place two ads today, and found they didn't appear.
When I eventually found out how to track them found I'd breached "posting rules"
Having contacted their chat service, found that I hadn't so much breached posting rules, but that I was blocked as I hadn't used them recently (obviously 1 year is too long to remain inactive!)
Nothing in "My Account" advised that I was blocked, so it seems just an arbitrary process with no warning to existing users that they are blocked now.
Although blocks are now removed, have to wait a further 48 hours before I can try to post ads again
What a sorry state of affairs, they are happy to block you without warning, but still happy to email you regularly reminding you to use them,

I’ve used gumtree before with no issue but eventually tried to put 2 adds both paid and they removed them after 5 minutes saying it violated guidelines , they did not in any way , worse is they haven’t refunded the money at all !!!! It’s shocking I’m doing a card reverse .

Found a car on gumtree. I contacted the seller but unfortunately the car had gone.
But he messaged me to say he was getting another car coming in.
We arranged to meet Bassy picked me up so i could view the car and have a test drive.
Bassy was very honest and truthful with me.
Put deposit down to secure the car.

Car is a solid, clean car Bassy was honest and truthful which i really appreciated.
