Healthier weight staff were and are amazing at keeping in touch and explaining everything. Wasn’t so impressed with St Ellen’s hospital in Livingston. The day of my op I was taken to an office to be admitted, after being admitted by the nurse, spoken to by the surgeon and anaesthetist I was then left sitting in the office for an hour by myself before my surgery. I was advised to change into my hospital gown and then walked through reception past visitors and patients waiting to be admitted in my gown and white stockings, I felt embarrassed and humiliated. I had my overnight bag with me and was told just to leave it on the floor outside the operating theatre as they didn’t know where I was going after my surgery. The morning after surgery I asked if there was a room I could get washed in and I was told no I had to just use the toilet with the small hand wash sink that myself and the 3 other patients had been using throughout the night. I was brought my discharge meds by the nurse at 8am and advised I could leave when my husband arrived to pick me up, the surgeon didn’t even come round to speak to patients after surgery or before discharge so I had no idea if everything went well or not. I saved for a long time to go private but this experience has made me so thankful for our NHS as going private is not all it’s cracked up to be

Healthier Weight have been very supportive through my bariatric journey. Aftercare has been good and staff are extremely supportive and friendly. The only thing I would suggest, and it is a small thing, is that there is a bit more post op general information given out that you can refer to rather than picking up phone.

I am so pleased that I chose to have a gastric sleeve with Healthier Weight! From the minute I first made contact they have been nothing but honest, supportive, informative and so helpful. The whole process from enquiring, to booking, to the operation and finally to the aftercare has been so smooth and I cannot yet find any fault with Healthier Weight. The support I have received is amazing and I would totally recommend them to anyone wishing to have weight loss surgery.

Any questions or concerns I have had have been answered straight away and are always at the end of the phone if needed. I highly recommend them and thank them all so much for helping me on my journey

Without a doubt one of the best decisions of my life and if I knew this company were this good and eliminated the worry I would have don’t this 5 years earlier. Also the aftercare is exceptional and consistent. Very happy with healthier weight. 👍👍👍

I’m now 4 stone down 6 months post op. My painful plantar fasciitis is gone and I am healthier and happier than I have been for years. I feel like the support from the nurses post op has been great and the actual hospital experience was also excellent

Heather M went above and beyond for me, organising everything with customer services that far exceeded my expectations and chasing up to clarify I had everything I needed pre op. If the hospital care is at the same service level as provided by Heather M, I know I have no concerns and I will be in the hands of an excellent team. I couldn’t be more grateful.

The best hospital - knowledgeable staff, friendly, helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Made a stressful time so much better. Highly recommend

Great experience from start. Lovely consultant did my operation, explained everything before. Great service whilst I was in hospital, just a day case. Great aftercare, even after the 2 years. Everyone is always so friendly and kind. Would definitely recommend

I’ve been considering WLS for around 10 years and my research kept bringing me back to Healthier Weight. I joined some Facebook groups to seek real people’s recommendations which helped make my mind up. I had a call with a member of the team (enquiry form filled out at 6.30 am and a call by 9.20am) and booked a video consult with my surgeon. This call was thorough and I felt I could ask questions. Mr Jambulingam explained the pros and cons of each procedure and answered all my questions and booked a provisional date. A few days later spoke to the team and booked my date for 3 weeks later. The whole HW team are incredible and so lovely to talk to. The dietician was very informative as were the nurses calls. The pre op was simple and straightforward as well. On op day the whole team at Bushey Spire were attentive and I felt so comfortable from the moment I met the anaesthetist and Mr Jambulingam, to walking down to the theatre. The aftercare was second to none. Even when I needed extra meds during the night! Recovery has been straightforward and the follow up calls with the nursing team reassured me I was doing everything right. 5 weeks out I’m so glad I chose Healthier Weight and I would recommend them to everyone. I wish I could personally thank the whole team!

I had my gallbladder removed recently. I was amazed by how quick the process was. Everyone I spoke to was incredibly helpful and attentive.

I had my procedure due to a friend who had a positive outcome. But I don't think I am. I am two years post and healthier weight didn't really offer much support in the two years. Now I'm two years out and problems have occurred I doubt they will support. They are quick in taking money

Hi the operation was very good but I feel the after care is needing a lot of attention.
I missed a call for my 3 check up. I phoned and couldn’t get an answer. No one contacted me again and still have had no contact from anyone
I also was home for 2 weeks when I got your pack with my medical card and paper work and saying what I should be eating and not and when I could start working which I feel is to late. I think that should be with me the next couple of days or when I left the hospital

I had my gallbladder removed with healthier weight it was so easy and pain free, staff were excellent and recovery was very quick, Burcot Hall hospital was so nice and comfortable and the staff really made my stay as good as possible

Very efficient and did as was promised.
Only downsides, because I was dealing with your company and Spire Hospital I was asked the same questions time and again. Also, as you offer the fixed price surgery for gallbladder removal it is a little disconcerting to have constant references to weight loss surgery in the company name and more particularly in the documentation (eg terms and conditions).
I now look forward to receiving my post operative appointment with the surgeon.l

Very good experience so far. The only improvement I can ask for is that follow up telephone check ins are booked in advance with agreed time and date, as being a working woman I have missed a number of them as I have been working and wasn't expecting the call.

Absolutely fantastic so many years post op in fact 8 years and these guys are still 100% behind and supporting me, Sally who supports me with my band adjustments over the years and now the lovely George the nutritionist who have been supporting since November and has helped me understand about what food choices to make and how it all works, everything we think we know but maybe just need it put in a different way George has been absolutely fantastic and I am going to miss him🥰
