I recently had some changes that needed to be made to my current tenancy and Alex was great in helping me with my many questions. He responded efficiently to my emails and was always helpful and kind.

I had a very poor experience with Henry Adams during the end of my tenancy.

The agency arranged and conducted a sales viewing at my rented home without my permission. I was not at the property at the time, and the only person present was my 14-year-old stepdaughter. She was asked whether the viewing could go ahead, despite being a minor and not being able to give consent on my behalf.

The agency later acknowledged that there were clear notes on their system saying I should be contacted to confirm access, but that this did not happen. They also accepted it was an error of judgement to proceed without first establishing my stepdaughter’s age.

While I appreciate that an apology was given afterwards, I found the situation completely unacceptable. Adults entered and viewed my home when no parent, carer, or adult tenant was present, and my stepdaughter was placed in a position she should never have been put in.

The agency did later confirm that no further sales viewings would take place during my tenancy and removed the listing while we remained in occupation. However, this only happened after I raised a formal complaint.

I am also disappointed with how the deposit return has been handled. At the time of writing, my deposit has still not been returned. I have formally requested its return, and I have been told that no deductions are currently being proposed, but the deposit remains unreleased while they wait for the landlord’s approval. I do not think it is reasonable for a tenant’s money to be held in limbo where no deduction has been properly proposed or evidenced.

Overall, I would not feel comfortable recommending them based on how access to the property, tenant consent, safeguarding concerns, and the deposit process have been handled. For me, this was a serious breach of trust at a time when the home was still my family’s private residence.

Both Lesley Anne and Kevin were both very friendly and professional at the Selsey branch. They were very approachable and quickly sorted out any problems i had, as It was the first property i had bought and they explained anything to me that i didnt understand. They had a good sense of humour too. I would thoroughly recommend the Selsey branch of Henry Adams.

I can't fault the Bognor branch of Henry Adams - they have been professional, efficient and courteous throughout the very challenging process of selling my flat. Rhianna Scowen was honest and realistic about the asking price and proved to be correct in her predictions. The office processed the sale promptly and immediately acquired viewings. When the offer was made very soon after listing, they kept me updated during the long wait till exchange. I am particularly grateful to Mark O'Neill, a very experienced and knowledgeable Assistant Manager, who encouraged and reassured me at all stages, chasing down the chain whenever he could - and very adept at dealing with the tensions involved with a difficult chain.

Alex was very good and made our transition to becoming first time tenants seamless. Honest and easy going and helpful to the end.

Great team effort. Chrissie demonstrated real determination to get the sale across the line.

We have recently sold our property in Bognor Regis with Henry Adams and I can’t recommend them highly enough.

From my first enquiry to them back in Jan to us final moving out day 3 weeks ago, they were fantastic throughout. Contant stream of information that only got better the closer we got to the end of the process. It ended up being a simultaneous exchange and completion on the same day (defiantly not ideal) but we were kept informed the whole day on the progress and they made it as stress-free as humanly possible.

Massive praise mainly to Rhianna but also Oliver for their hard work and professional attitude. Thank you!

Ben and Geraldine at Henry Adams Storrington West Sussex branch were simply exceptional, especially Geraldine the branch negotiator, after taking bad advice from a family member and hiring an atrociously bad conveyancer (Premier property lawyers via the Co-op), if hadn’t been for the diligence, professionalism and downright determination by Geraldine I would have lost the buyer for my late mother’s property and a lot of money in the process. I can highly recommend Henry Adams as an estate agent, they will not let you down, they kept me up to date almost every day, there communication was was excellent, I would not hesitate to use them again and will actually be going on the market with my own property maybe this year. 10/10

Our house was valued in November 2025. We were surprised at the valuation of£ 775,000. The agent said we should get £750,000
January 2026 we still had no viewings, so I told the agent to reduce the property to £725,000.
March no viewings the agent suggested reducing the price to 6 something.
I said under the circumstances I wanted to cancell the contract which was until the end of April.
I decided to send an email to the office in Chichester
explaining the situation.
I had an email the following morning af 7.30am from the local office to say they had taken my property of the listing
I had no acknowledgment from the Chichester office regarding my email.
We have taken the property off the market

Henry Adams Haywards Heath did what 3 other agents couldn’t - sell a retirement flat!

Fantastic from start to finish. A very big thanks to Alex Bush who answered all our questions.

After 9 years of renting, 5 different properties, the stupidity of this Agent is off the charts! After viewing a property last year, during the viewing, the Agent told us it was being decorated by the Landlord. Upon agreeing to rent the property we were then told it was not being decorated, we proceeded on the sole basis that we would decorate the exceptionally tired property as it was in a prime location with massive potential not being realised. Out time our cost, we accepted that. This was confirmed by the Agent by email. Upon moving in, the property was not cleaned at all, it was filthy and left as the last Tennant has moved out. Upon complaining about this and the state of decoration, it was again confirmed by the Agent that we had permission to decorate. We only actually stayed one year, certainly improving the property to no cost to the Landlord. We are now entering a dispute with the TDS over the Agent refusing to refund our deposit because we did not have permission to decorate, even though we have 3 emails confirming we did from the same Agents?! I am confident we will get our money via the TDS, if not we will certainly pursue every legal channel possible. Beware, this letting agency is by far the worst we have dealt with. Read other reviews of similar scenarios on here, these are facts, not stories. Our tenancy finished 12 days ago, monies will be delayed for god knows how long whilst we enter the submission of evidence phase and then adjudication. This company is totally incompetent, nothing short of a scam. I would advise, no matter how nice the property, use a respectful Agents....not this one! Lesson learnt, ensure everything is put in writing, you'd think that would help, appears not with this Agent!!!

JUST OVER 3 MONTHS LATER GOING THROUGH THE TDS PROCESS THAT WE WERE FORCED TO GO THROUGH TO GET BACK "OUR" MONEY, WE HAVE JUST BEEN AWARDED OUR FULL DEPOSIT BACK, ALLEGEDLY WITHIN 5 WORKING DAYS, BUT HEY, ITS BEEN THIS LONG, LETS SEE.

WARNING: FORTUNATELY WE WERE FINANCIALLY OK, BUT IF YOU WILL NEED YOUR DEPOSIT WHEN MOVING OUT, I SUGGEST YOU AVOID THIS ABYSMAL COMPANY. CHECK OUT OTHER FEEDBACK OF SIMILAR STORIES OF EQUALLY LUDICROUS CLAIMS. THIS COMPANY NEEDS INVESTIGATING OVER ITS CONSTANT ABUSE OF TENANTS DEPOSITS. GLAD I WILL NEVER NEED THEM AGAIN, MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO ALL OF THEIR CUSTOMERS....BEST OF LUCK!

We brought through Kev at Henry Adams, Selsey. Absolutely incredible service from start to finish. Kev was a delight the whole way through. The care throughout was better than we have ever experienced. Kev kept us informed better than the estate agents we sold our property through! Thank you for being amazing.
