Heritage Caravan Site a rip off

Heritage Caravan Site
We loved seeing The Who, Lightning Seeds and Richard Ashcroft yesterday and although an expensive experience we accepted that for something special.
However, £75 paid for just parking our campervan in a field overnight was a total rip off and I am still smarting about this. Nobody checked us in - in fact there was no event person around at all. Anyone could have come in paid or not. It was just a field with no marked out pitches as stated. There were just a few portaloos with no hand washing facilities. The portaloos didn’t flush and were absolutely filthy and disgusting. Big screens in the venue told us to leave the loos as we’d like to find them!! Well how about how we’d like to find them when paying the price we have? Shocking. There were huge bags of rubbish stacked up by the loos, some overflowing. Clearly nothing during the 4 day event had been done. I saw one tap attached to a fence. It had said there would be showers - none. I think everyone who paid should have their money refunded.

Musicians Let Down by Venue, Technology, Facilities and Management

The venue was very poorly managed. Complete nonsense up to the entrance gate, sent around in circles across a field. Once inside the toilet facilities were dreadful. No hand sanitizer in most cubicles. Food vendors far too expensive and poor quality. Only good food was the Fish and Chip vendor. The chicken wrap smelt of faeces and we threw it away!! The bar had no fruit juices to offer. Card only payment was not true. The servers were doing deals for cash!! Where's that money going exactly? Into their pockets of course.
The artists were all great. I particularly liked Richard Ashcroft. The quality of the sound system was top drawer.
However the big screen footage wasn't synchronised with the vocals. No excuse for that. Once you notice that, you can't unsee it. For me it spoilt the experience of seeing the artists and hearing their music and lyrics out of sync.
Overall not good enough for the expense of tickets. It makes me consider very carefully if I will ever attend another Heritage Live Event.

Heritage Live

Heritage Live, what a complete chaos of a company.
Sandringham, great concert performances from artists, but organisation a shambles, too many people at venue.
No signage for exits or which way to blue or red car parks. Toilets disgusting, inadequate bins for 20,000 people, extortionate prices. As for Stewarts or Marshall's no training and completely clueless just standing around doing nothing. As for direction or traffic management leaving the car parks non existent. Overhall Sandringham and artists performing should disassociate with Heratage Live as they are just a money making machine with extremely poor untrained staff ruining Sandringhams reputation. Heritage Live, dont be fooled by the word 'Heritage' they are far from it.

Very disappointed

Visited VIP area for Robbie Williams concert T Sandringham. Poor signage in Car Parks,Enr
Ntrance and inside for VIP ticket holders. VIP area very disappointing. Lack of seating and lack of a coffee facility. Lack of table which meant litter bins were used as tables. Lots of uncleared litter as a result. Straws bale both not suitable for VIP area and also wet and broken. Would not advise paying the huge premium for a very poor facility. I felt the event was all about making money for the promoters. Access to and from Sandringham car parks a nightmare. Would not recommend venue because of the lack of seating. Surprised Sandringham allow some much litter. AYLSHAM one day show with similar numbers at BLICKLING was much better organised and run would not return to aHeritage live outdoor event.

Only one star because zero stars isn’t an option

My daughter and I went to see Robbie Williams at Sandringham, I will never give another penny to Heritage Live again! I can not stress to you all how money grabbing this company is. To risk peoples lives like they did is quite frankly as low as you can go. The concert itself was good so it’s no reflection on Robbie but I hope for his reputations sake he never works with this company again. As everyone else has stressed in the reviews, the whole event was inadequate. Seating, toilets, space, signage, help, views, car park lighting and overall protection was something that needs to be looked at by an outside organisation. I almost have the feeling the bosses of Heritage live are laughing at me and these reviews, remember if anything happens they always have the get out clause of “we’ll learn from this” and move on and repeat it all over again.
So unless you all have a small mortgage to afford the tickets, car park, food, drinks and seats to sit on (if you’re lucky enough to get a seat) then crack on and spend your money but I for one will never ever go to Sandringham again and nor will I spend another penny with Heritage Live.

Shocking and dangerous organisation

The CEO of this events Company, Giles Cooper, needs to take a long hard look at all of these reviews! It’s pretty much clear from this information that the event was poorly organised. From the moment of arrival I could see that the signage was poor. No clear signs of how to even enter the event from the car park let alone being able to find your car at the end of the show. After walking into the arena area, there was no visible signage of where the VIP area was across the field, we had to ask. When we eventually got to the VIP area, I pointed out to a “customer service” staff member that the signage was poor, and the response was pretty much “couldn’t care less”. When we got into the VIP area, as others have said, what a waste of £150. Small bar and inadequate seating. No food outlets, no merchandise stands, what did my £150 buy me? As other reviewers have said, the view of the stage was appalling from this “special” area. The food prices were eye watering - £34 for two duck wraps and about 20 chips! Absolute rip off! At least Dick Turpin wore a mask.
I asked about where the exits were going to be located at the end of the event, as usually additional routes out of the arena area are provided at such large gatherings to facilitate the mass dispersal of 20,000 people, only to be told it was the same way we came in. As a result, I could already see that there was going to be chaos at the end of the show. With that in mind, I decided it would be safer to leave before the encore, and I’m glad I did going by the shocking reviews posted on here. But even leaving before the end was difficult as no clear escape or access routes through the crowd had been maintained. Surely a basic health & safety review would suggest that keeping a clear area at the side of the crowd would aid access for emergency personnel and also allow people to leave easily. Instead, we had to navigate through the crowds and rubbish (and hay bales) How no one was seriously injured at the end of the show, I don’t know.
At the car park, there was no clear signage of the EXIT and very few personnel around to give directions, but fortunately I left before the masses.
In summary, the Health & Safety Executive need to take a close look at this organisation and its operating and planning methods. I certainly won’t be attending any other events organised by this shambles in the future.

Disappointed

We went to see Richard Ashcroft on Monday 28th August. He was absolutely brilliant, we enjoyed it. The Who were very self indulgent. On the other hand we had just negative experience. From start the marshalling was very poor, without a barrier or marshal the crowd was sent around and around a field to go to the entrance gate for bag search. One point someone broke this and the crowd ran to the gates. There were no hand sanitisers in the portable toilets, it was difficult to find the flush on the floor. The big screens weren't synchronised with the voice. I bought two chicken wraps, they went into the bin as immediately we smelled it's not right, the chicken had a very odd smell. On the way out of the car park again there were two marshalls, we left before the event has finished.

Shockingly bad

Shockingly bad , we where parked in disabled when leaving where told all lanes lead to all car parks they didn't, then was told the person with the disability didn't look disabled so they wouldn't let us go through to disabled parking where we where sent on entry , I have this all on video, even one saying what did you expect at a standing gig , your legs look OK to me , your staff need some serious training when it come to disability identification , not even to mention the rip off prices of everything ! £3.50 a can of coke £3 for water , £10 for 2 slices of cheese on toast , your company makes me sick !

Not Fit for Purpose!

Not Fit for Purpose!
Firstly, The Who, Richard Ashcroft and The Lightening Seeds were excellent but Sandringham is not suitable for large crowds.
Yes, once inside, the view of the stage, screens etc excellent, good choice of over priced food and drink but getting in and out is damn right dangerous.
Queued for one and a half hours to get in the car park, left the gig early to “Avoid” the traffic but sat in the car for over 2 hours without moving, surprised there wasn’t and fights between motorists!
After nearly 3 hours staff turned up to redirect us to another exit.
Very poor organisation, no traffic marshals, no traffic management, a total free for all.
Venue is a nice setting but not fit for purpose, go see the acts somewhere else.

Shockingly Bad Events Company

This is 2023 and the appalling organisation of Robbie Williams at Sandringham was completely unacceptable. The choas of parking, toilets, price of food and drink terrible. Also in 2023 it is completely unacceptable for there to be absolutely no Internet or phone service. Why they were displaying social media links on the screens by the stage when nobody had any signal.... we were herded out very dangerously 1 by 1 like cattle. The so called VIP area was a long way from the stage, had 1 bar absolutely no food outlet and toilets that didn't flush and taps that barely had a trickle of water at the beginning of the night all at a bargain price of £150! NOT! a complete rip off. They shouldn't have a license to run events. Sandringham definitely should not have their name used for these events as it devalues the beautiful venue.

Robbie Williams and all support acts…

Robbie Williams and all support acts at Sandringham were amazing but the venue was not safe! Crowd control put lives at risk on exit. Why barrier the main entrance and force 20000 people though 2, 5metre walkways? Parking was horrendous and an Ambulance had awful trouble entering the venue during the car park chaos when everyone tried to leave with no event support. Please contact the health and safety executive to put Heritage Live to task!

VIP for The Who was absolutely waste of money and feel as though we were robbed. All seating was taken and the view was not great as people in the normal area blocked your view anyway. For what we paid £185 plus ticket price I would have thought there would have been free food or drink so would like to know how the Heritage Trust can justify charging so must.
This is no reflect on the bands.

Access & Parking Fiasco Sandringham

Whilst Robbie Williams was amazing at Sandringham, the parking access was appalling! Over 3 hours to get in via 2 entrances channelling all traffic. If that wasn’t bad enough, upon leaving poor lighting very difficult to find cars, walkers and cars sharing same roads, pitch black accident waiting to happen and very few security personnel helping exit and internet so poor satnav wouldn’t load. Total fiasco!!

Heritage Live ... Never again

Firstly can I say that the Robbie Williams concert was excellent last night (as were his guests) and this review is in no way a reflection on him, his band or guests. We had friends who had been to the concert on the Saturday evening - we went last night on the Sunday - they did forewarn us. So, we were expecting some of the chaos we would be encountering. Nearly prepared us, but not quite. We arrived about 3.15 after a slow journey into the car park. My OH is still amazed at the lack of signage to guide attendees to the carparks. We were made aware that the parking zones were on the boards attached to poles at the end of the parking rows, so checked and found we were in Zone 3. OH had also worked out we were about 6 rows back from a lighting tower - thank goodness he did because on leaving the venue it was H&S's worst nightmare. The zone markers were hard to see in the dark but at least we had some idea - it seems a very large number of people at no idea those markers were there and in some cases were attached so high up the pole they were difficult to see. We sat and ate our picnic and just waited for some cars to clear around us. When we did get out it was a free for all across the field to the exit. We only live 40 mins away but from starting the car to getting home took us about 2 hours.
Let's go back to the concert. Seating was woefully limited. Nowhere to eat food (assuming you had taken out a mortgage to be able to afford it), Hay bales were advertised for seating, Yep they were there but in very small numbers, broken down, soggy, wet from all the rain and those who were lucky enough to have one, did not move!! You could of course hire a deck chair, £7.00 for the privilege but a lousy view of the stage - all sold out though! Let's revisit the food and drink, you couldn't take your own in, no wonder when you can be charged £17.50 for a basic chicken wrap and a Diet Coke. When we queried the prices we were told that the organisers had set the prices and some stall holders were embarrassed at the inflated prices but there was nothing they could do if they wanted to be there. Perhaps Heritage Live and Sandringham Events would like to address that. On leaving the venue it was one exit for all - what a s**t show - inadequate lighting, uneven ground, mobility aids, walking sticks, good walkers, bad walkers, fast walkers, slow walkers - pushing and shoving, all battling for position. Never again will we attend a Heritage Live event at Sandringham (or probably anywhere else for that matter if its run by this company). Venue is not fit for purpose and H&S is absolutely non existent.

Avoid Sandringham as a music venue

We’ve been to many gigs and have never seen such poor and dangerous organisation.

Sandringham is just not fit-for-purpose - it’s a disaster waiting to happen.

Once you’re there it’s fine, the stage is on a hill so views are good and there are the usual rip-off food and crappy porta-loos you expect from any outdoor venue.

However, it’s getting there and back that ruins everything. Leaving the venue was frightening as everyone has to squeeze out of one gate - it could very quickly lead to a tragedy.

Traffic is always bad leaving events but this was next level, with thousands of cars still in the car park when we managed to get out at 12:45am. There were no traffic stewards so it was complete chaos.

Do yourself a favour and avoid Sandringham, it’s just not worth it. Such a shame as the artists are great, but we won’t be booking with HeritageLive again.

Robbie at Sandringham - Saturday 26th August

We went to see Robbie on Saturday 26th August at Sandringham. The concert itself was brilliant – the performances, staging and impressive grounds exceeded all expectations.
BUT we had several concerns about the organisation of the event especially at the end of the concert. There seemed to be no crowd control whatsoever, with thousands of people being ‘funnelled’ through one relatively small exit and no obvious lighting apart from people’s torches or phones. There was no sign of any security staff to guide or assist and it felt as though the situation was out of control and potentially very dangerous.
Although safety was our main concern, it was also frustrating that no food, drinks or chairs were allowed into the grounds, also the very unpleasant state and lack of sufficient toilet facilities. Would have expected better at such a lovely location!
Exiting the car park onto the main road took two hours - and it had already taken an hour to reach our car through all the crowds! I think the lack of traffic marshalls and road infrastructure were both factors in the traffic problems.
Unless the event organisation is hugely improved, we will not be attending any more concerts run by Heritage Live at Sandringham in the future. Extremely disappointing!

The Robbie Williams concert itself was…

The Robbie Williams concert itself was excellent but Heritage Live’s organisation was shambolic to say the least. From the moment we arrived in the Sandringham area, the whole experience was hell on earth. Clueless stewards, zero signage, odd venue layout and a VIP area that was beyond a joke. Despite assurances that coeliacs would be catered for, all coeliac food had run out on night two, there was no zero alcohol beer for the driver (me) due to ‘supply issues’. HL are not a competent event management company and you should think very carefully before parting with your hard-earned to a company that does not care about its customers, their safety or hospitality. Leaving was the ultimate end to a poor evening. We left during the encores and, only via my own efforts, hot-footed it to the nearest available exit. It took friends who lingered to the end more than two hours to get out of the car park. Lighting was non-existent and what staff there were were overwhelmed and incapable of organising anything let alone directing the masses. A joke!

Thanks Heritage Live

Thanks Heritage Live, another £160 up the Swanee. We were supposed to see the glorious Who today but decided against it after the debacle of the venue for the Robbie concert.

Could not contemplate another 4 hours of queues going nowhere fast. Curious that the queuing times were only alluded to days before the concerts when everyone had bought tickets. Shame you did not advertise the average cost of a meal or the drinks at the venue. I could have saved up just in case I was hungry or thirsty. Free gratis water no doubt save your reputation. Cheers again for nothing

we visitedyesterday for Robbie at Sandringham and the weather clearly was not brilliant but eventually was good. although waiting all that time under a parasol, we had a good spot, near some metal railing. Robbie started then you all of sudden crew brought some lights or, platform something very big and bang in front of our view, no explanation nothing , so noisy we had to move. then a group of motor bikes moved right in middle of Robbie songs. why couldn't that be all done in the break, but also tell your customers what that lighting thing is and we might want to move. !!!. disappointing when spent so much money. 😕

Robbie Williams at Sandringham Sunday

Robbie Williams at Sandringham Sunday. Very poor value for money in VIP. We were far off to the right side of the stage, no access to front of stage, no food in the area, bizarrely placed seating right in front of the barrier between VIP and GA. Absolutely NOT worth the money. Leaving the venue was totally chaotic and not well organised at all. Won't attend a concert organised by this crew again. Shame because Robbie was fantastic.
