I hired a tractor unit from UK HGV Hire Centre under a written contract which clearly states the deposit should be returned after the vehicle is handed back in agreed condition.

The vehicle was returned as per the contract terms, but they are refusing to pay back the deposit. This is a breach of contract and completely unacceptable.

Very disappointing experience. I would strongly advise others to read the contract very carefully and think twice before paying any deposit.

Had to select 1 star as it didn't give me the option to select 0.

Advert was for a 9am collection for a campervan. Confirmed the booking to be told by Damian that the camper wasn't actually available until 2pm that day.

Cancelled the booking and made a complaint as the hire period advertised was misleading.

Advised by HGV Hire that the refunds were dealt with by GoBoony. Go Boony clarified this wasn't the case, therefore it was a lie.

My advice, don't go near this company.

cool company, good rates and good customer service, i cant fault them, my unit broke down and they sent a mechanic out and the issue was fixed within 2 hours i couldnt believe it also the mechanic was super friendly which always helps, damian has been great planning units and solving issues, im so glad i didnt buy a truck as hiring is so much easier, keep up the good work HGVHIRE!

I been renting from them since last 2 years.
They been helpfull each and single time which pmi or unwanted breakdown.
Thier manager damian is very professional on HR and he tries his best to accommodate your needs

Fantastic company, been with them for 2 years and I can't fault them! I would recommend this company if your needing to hire a unit

I've been an owner driver since 1991. I had always bought my vehicles on finance, but with the ever increasing headaches with electrical and adblue I looked into leasing / renting. Just over 5 years ago I got InTouch with HGV hire. I had a chat with the Director Marcus and told him what I was looking for. Within a week we had a deal and I took a version 3 FH. Lovely vehicle, clean inside and out. After 2 years I swapped for a version 4 euro 6. Again another good vehicle.
I'm still with them now after 5 years.
What I've found is if you pay your rent when it's due they do there part in treating you with 100% respect. If you give them the required 2 weeks notice for tyres or inspections then it'll be done.
I've had a couple of breakdowns and I've not waited no longer than 4 hours for a fitter to arrive.
Give them respect and courtesy and that is what you'll get back.
I would honestly give them 10 out of 10 for the service I have received.

We hired a Volvo tractor unit last December. During the course of the hire period our driver was left stranded in the Birmingham area due to a corroded brake chamber blow out suggesting poor maintenence monitoring. A callout unit were unable to rectify the damage other than to make a temporary repair to get the vehicle to a safer location. No part was availble so our driver was instructed to drive to a nominated service station but subsequently instructed to return home albeit at the risk of further stoppages. He managed to return but at the cost of considerable overtime.
HGVHIRE have not only failed to return our deposit despite repeated requests, on the grounds they had to collect the unit, they placed our driver in a dangerous and poorly maintained tractor unit. Given similar complaints being recorded by other hirers, this requiries investigation by the DVSA.

Stay away from this company! I had an accident with 1 of their hire vehicle truck, the driver referred me back to the company for insurance, the truck wasn’t even insured, the yard manager and finance manger reassured me they would pay for the damage never happened!!!’n

Catastrophic company. I have been tricked to rent out a broken lorry. When I realise later that there is issue with it I reported it but they blamed me and wanted me to pay for the defect. Plus they were happy to provide me with their engineer for a cost of a £1000, btw I asked around and found out that the cost is actually 3 times lower. What a disgraceful company!
