I had high hopes for this product but…

I had high hopes for this product but unfortunately I was very disappointed. The boxes take ages to get going, and often go out completely. I’ve resorted to putting another firelighter next to the box but this obviously defeats the object. Frustrating!

What appliance are you using the Hot Box Firestarter with (e.g. wood burning stove, open fire, pizza oven, BBQ, fire pit etc.)?
Were the air vents or air controls on the appliance fully open when lighting the fire?
Where did you purchase the Hot Box Firestarter? We can’t locate a record of your purchase through our e-commerce platform, so knowing the retailer or website will help us trace the batch.

We take all customer feedback seriously and would like to understand exactly what happened.

Ease of use

Ease of use, didn’t need kindling, really clean and my fire was hotter than ever.

Tried this in my wood fired pizza oven…

Tried this in my wood fired pizza oven today! Been using them for a while in my wood burner but it was the first time in the garden for a while! Added a few logs stacked around Hot Box and full in fire in 5 minutes. Superb and simple fire starting tool.

I'd give Hot Box ten stars if I could!

I'd give Hot Box ten stars if I could. I was rather concerned about having a wood burner installed as the job was complicated. I need not have worried, the 'boys' were absolutely brilliant! They took so much care not to damage the existing stone surround and they then reinstalled it more perfectly than it was originally, which was a few cms out. They also were very careful to lay down plastic sheeting, to keep dust at a minimum, then they cleaned up thoroughly when they’d finished. I am really delighted with the way this was carried out… no one could have done it more professionally, in my opinion. I'd recommend them without any hesitation whatsoever.

We're keen to investigate this further. However, according to our records, we have not supplied or sold Hot Box ® Firestarter products in Denmark to date.

Could you please let us know:
- Where you purchased the product?
- The name of the retailer or website?
- If possible, could you also send us a photograph of the box and the product itself?

This will help us establish whether the product is one of ours or whether it may be a similar product being sold under a different brand.

If it does turn out to be one of our genuine products, we'll be happy to investigate the matter further and do everything we can to put things right.

Deeply unimpressed with a sample I…

Deeply unimpressed with a sample I purchased. If this was a firework I’d call it a dud. It did eventually get going, but took far too long, and was never as good as a couple of firelighters and some kindling. The latter would have been quicker too.

We are sorry to hear that our product did not work for you on this occasion. We are currently trialing an array of components and it seems that the one received by you was a recent version with a sawdust lighter which does tend to be slower to start. Perhaps you might be receptive to receiving an alternative version, we will drop you an e mail with details.

Fantastic way to light my woodburner

Fantastic way to light my woodburner, I usually use kindling and wool firelighters and sometimes paper but this is much easier and quicker.

I particularly like the fact you can add your logs at the start and just light it. These will be in my cupboard and ready to use for sure.
