Good customer service
I made an online order. One of the item was missing so i contacted customer services. I got a prompt response and the missing item was delivered next day. Really happy with my order and the customer service received.

My son bought me the new hot and cold Veletiser for Mothers Days and I absolutely love it! The range of flavors you can get are excellent and they taste amazing.
I also had the ‘Everything’ chocolate box too and they never disappoint. Love everything about Hotel Chocolat products, always high quality and beautiful tastes.

Heat damaged tasteless chocolates
I was given a box of these rather pricey chocolates for mothers day. On opening the box I found the majority to be heat damaged all with a waxy cloudy residue on them.. I tried the 2 that looked least damaged and was not impressed ! I told my son who was going to contact the company. Let's see what their customer service is like. Poor quality damaged chocolates..

We used to subscribe to Hotel Chocolat and waited eagerly for our quarterly box of chocolates and bought them as gifts for friends and family frequently. Unfortunately the quality has dropped and we no longer enjoy the taste of the chocolate. It is overly sweet and lacks the deep chocolaty flavours we used to enjoy so much. Such a shame. We are trying other chocolatiers now.
Appalling customer service - lecturing paying customers
I am absolutely disgusted by the email I received from Hotel Chocolat regarding my recent orders. I used a valid physical voucher which had NO restrictions on usage frequency or minimum spend. I acted entirely within their own rules, yet I received a patronizing email "lecturing" me for placing 17 orders.
What is most insulting:
1. The "Workload" Excuse: I have paid a £0.95 service fee for EVERY single order. To charge a customer for a service and then complain about the "workload" it creates is peak hypocrisy for a major retailer.
2. Baseless Accusations: They had the audacity to suggest I might "not collect" my paid orders as a reason to stop me from ordering. This is an offensive assumption with zero evidence.
3. Professional Failure: Instead of fixing their own IT system or terms, they chose to target and reprimand a paying customer as if I had done something wrong.
Hotel Chocolat acts like a premium brand, but their treatment of loyal customers is cheap and unprofessional. If you don't want people using your codes, don't issue them. Don't take our money and then treat us like criminals. Avoid!
What has happened to the quality!!
What has happened to your chocolate. I bought the violet and rose creams and they were awful. Nothing like the bold flavours they used to be. Greasy chocolate and what have you added those toppings for. It was like eating a very cheap, very bland cream filled chocolate covered in dried fruit! Awful. I will never buy any of your chocolates again.

Called and spoke with Joanne (I believe) as I had ordered a gift bag with Mother’s Day chocolate, but unfortunately the bag came slightly ripped and damaged. Got through straight away, gave a few details about my order and Joanne sent a replacement with no fuss at all. She was so lovely to speak to and extremely helpful :)
Paid for next day delivery last…
Paid for next day delivery last Saturday I’ve received an email to say the earliest my order will arrive is an estimated date of tomorrow, Wednesday 11th, Hotel Chocolat should not be taking next day delivery fees when they can’t deliver on time, this will be my last order and I will be perusing a refund for next day delivery. Customer service ignore you when you have issues which puts you off ordering too.
Outstanding service
The service i received in the Fort Kinnaird branch was exceptional. I was shaken after having a wee fall elsewhere and went in for a coffee. All the staff were so attentive and comforting
I even got 2 wee complementary chocolates. It is my favourite go to for a coffee as its relaxing and staff are great

Jack assisted with my choice when I first visited the shop, he was very pleasant friendly and helpful and not pushy which is what I like when browsing, I was so happy with Jack's help which came with a friendly smile ,that I visited again on another occasion to purchase some lovely chocolate.

If I could give '0' I would!. It said 5-95 for delivery on Saturday. I paid for it. Saturday I thought-fantastic but Royal Mail have just sent a Delivery schedule saying it's coming Monday NOT Saturday which I paid for. I would like to say Never ordering again. But the chocolates are nice. Their delivery promises just suck!.
Fantastic Hotel Chocolate
I happened upon Hotel Chocolate by chance this past weekend while in Chicago. It was such a lovely surprise. First, the space is fresh, clean, and soothing. Calm colors and jazz are a good combination. Now, the chocolate: to die for!! The drinks were divine, and the pastries swoon-worthy. I struck up a conversation with the manager Sherita and she was so fun. She also passed out a package of chocolates to everyone in my party. All the employees I spoke with were helpful and kind. I was so happy and excited for the store I went back two days later for coffee again and bought candy to take home. I highly recommend Hotel Chocolate for everyone. In fact, I proposed a Hotel Chocolate to be brought to my area - the suburbs of Philadelphia. Please!
Hotel chocolat misleads customers with their prices.
I have been purchasing the mix and match 3 slabs for £13.95, for the past month. What I did not realise was that I was not saving anything by purchasing 3 bars instead of 1 bar.
1 bar is £4.65.
I mentioned this to the cashier in the Uxbridge branch, who said to me that was the price from headoffice. When I left, what I did not like was that the other employee sniggered and both employees thought it was funny.
What is the point of misleading customers with a sign saying 3 for 13.95, 5 for £23.95 and 10 for £46.50.
I did buy one slab instead of my three this time, and would prefer hotel chocolat not to mislead customers.

Purchased some birthday presents from here for my mother. I got some free samples added and the staff were lovely and helpful. Even gift packaged it for me. Couldn’t thank them enough.
Useless staff at Chichester store
Old bloke at Chichester store had sat right by till in the cafe then objected to my dog being there whilst I was paying. Suggested he should perhaps pick a cafe that isn’t dog friendly. Bloke making drinks didn’t help with confirming policy, instead gave us a telling off for arguing. Left without getting the paid order, plenty more coffee shops in the city.
Hotel Chocolat Purchase Failures
I recently purchased the Velvetiser from the Birmingham Bullring store, and unfortunately, my experience has been quite disappointing.
The first unit I bought appeared used when I opened the box, prompting me to return it for a full refund. I then purchased another Velvetiser, but this one also fell short of expectations, arriving with noticeable scratches on the lid, indicating mishandling.
Additionally, I learned from the staff that they are no longer a British firm, which is clearly disappointing.
Due to the inadequate support at the Birmingham branch, I felt compelled to contact head office and am currently awaiting their response. I sincerely hope they can provide an unused, defect-free item that matches the description, as this situation is simply unacceptable.

I visited the cafe at Chichester and ordered a hazelnut latte with the finishing touches but for some reason it was not available. The latte was delicious and afterwards I was invited up to the counter for a refund. Was expecting only a partial refund but instead I was given a full refund by the very pleasant young lady on duty at that time (around 10:30/10:45). Not my first visit to the Cafe.
