I had a talented and knowledgeable team working togethering on my book. The communication was clear from each team member when necessary and I could always see the progress of their work. The team followed my instructions, there was good dialogue when decisions needed to be discussed and the financial dealings were done fairly. During the process of writing the book I had emergencies and a death in my family and the team at HotGhostWriter were very compassionate and considerate to me, adjusting deadlines and giving words of support and kindness. What a positive experience.

I gave Hot Ghost Writer a shot for my new book, stepping away from my usual AI tools, and honestly, it was a huge letdown. Despite my efforts to provide a high-quality, paid outline and over-communicate my needs, the manuscript came back with so many grammar and voice issues that I had to redo practically the whole thing.

Communication with my writer felt off too. They were pretty brief with me, almost as if they couldn't be bothered to put in more effort, even though I was clear about what I wanted. It just felt like they did the bare minimum, which was really disappointing considering the price tag.

This whole experience made me realize something: you're better off learning to write with AI. It's faster, way cheaper, and you actually end up with more than what you wanted in the first place.

So, yeah, this was my first and definitely last time going the ghost writer route. My advice? Save your money and stick with AI writing. It's just not worth the hassle and disappointment with services like Hot Ghost Writer.

I am reading some of these other reviews and I am a bit baffled about some people's negative experience.

For me, I did have to do a little writer/editor management and suggested reworks? I guess, what I allowed might have continued??

For example, some of the editing was a little wonky, but then I outlined my expectations and had a call-in, then everything ran smoothly.

I think I might have a little more aggressive in the creative direction than other people?

Not sure, but what I do know is I absolutely LOVE the finished product. The writing ended up being better than anything I had come up with in my initial ideas and I have already recommended this service to two of my friends.

This was a dreadful experience and after spending nearly £3000 and 6 weeks with this company I can say I am exasperated at the quality of writing and editing that this company has.
I had two writers and both used AI to create the book (I have proof!) - the first writer quit after I called it out and the second used it so much that the brief of the book wasn't even met. The editing was appalling - so many mistakes and couldn't even spot how the writer had switched tone halfway through. I am just appalled at how bad this entire process has been and the quality of the output. Don't waste your money folks!

Complete scammers. Text me with pretend precise details of my 'refund' £3424.54 giving the illusion of knowing my situation but clearly didn't. Wanted me to 'reenter all my personal information' for 'security reasons' before I could 'get my money'.
Just a monumental scam. I reported it to the police but they decided because the scam had been targeted at a different person (vulnerable, elderly) and not me, I couldn't complain.

I can always rely on this book store to have the most recent releases in stock, and their lightning-fast delivery ensured that I had the book I coveted in my hands before I knew it.

A ambition of mine to become a self-published author is on the verge of becoming a reality. I’ve been on a journey of almost 2 years to get my manuscript produced “The Grip On Africa”. My writer Danielle and I had great communication. She was responsive, accommodating, and friendly – a complete professional.

However, the editor Roxana delivered a work that was way below satisfactory. She ran through the edits with zero constructive feedback and only sent me one short paragraph complimenting how nice my book was and how it's all set to go. That's it.

She made zero comments and wrapped up her work with three sentences of superficial nice words. I picked out two grammar mistakes in different chapters, telling her to go through the book once more. She simply answered that the two specific mistakes I brought on were fixed. No apologies. No intention of actually doing her work after being caught slacking off.

I ended up spending the whole next week going through basic run-on sentences, lack of clarity, and wordiness issues myself (and it is still ongoing). What a scam!

It was my first experience, and it appears that this editing service is just an excuse for Hotghostwriters to demand extra charges.

I have another book with them still in the process, and it seems the editor this time is actually doing his work (it's not done yet so we will see). I will not recommend anyone trusting them if they have such inconsistent quality in the service they offer.
