Used this company as our Celsi…
Used this company as our Celsi fireplace was competitively priced with House 2 Home.
Delivery was arranged by independent courier as was coming from manufacturer- all very prompt..
after arranging delivery we were then notified that the manufacturer thought they may have sent the wrong fire. There was confusion with this which we accept wasnt house 2 homes fault and although they did try to notify us we wasted a day waiting for a delivery that didnt happen even after telling us it would still arrive and gave us instructions what to do if the wrong one turned up.
We did in the end recieve the correct fireplace but was more due to the courier sorting it out for us with the manufacturer , communication from house 2 home stopped....the courier even arranged a special delivery the next day because we'd wasted a day waiting for the original delivery....the service from the couriers was 5 star.
House 2 home have a phone line but it's never answered and they only let you contact them via email and in our particular case this wasnt helpful. We didnt even get a courtesy email to see if we'd actually received the right one in the end and after all the confusion and our time wasted it was the least they could have done, very poor!
The fireplace is fabulous but I wouldnt use house 2 home again to make a purchase.

We appreciate the delivery didn’t go as smoothly as we would normally expect but we are surprised you have given the courier a 5-star rating and ourselves a 2-star rating when it was the courier who failed to deliver the fireplace on the date they originally agreed with you. As you are aware we tried various methods of communication to contact you, days in advance to advise there was going to be a slight delay with the original delivery date given to you by the courier.
However, despite calling your mobile which had no voicemail facility, leaving a voicemail on your home answering machine, sending you an email, and sending you a text message to alert you to the delay there was no response. For the record, it was at our insistence and instructions to both the manufacturer and the courier that they carry out a special delivery to you, on a next-day service, due to not delivering your fireplace on the previously agreed delivery date. So, this was something we organised based on the instructions we gave them.
To say the only means of communication we had was by email only is not correct. Given the fireplace was due to arrive with you on the rescheduled date sometime after 4pm, and as we closed at 5pm, we did ask if you could kindly let us know once you had received the fireplace which you were happy to do but we heard nothing more. We are sorry that the fireplace wasn’t delivered by the courier on the original date agreed with you in the manner normally expected but we couldn’t have done anymore to keep you updated. We used all forms of communication available to us throughout the entire process but regrettably, you never responded to us on many occasions.
I bought a Carron cast iron fireplace…
I bought a Carron cast iron fireplace from house2home and found them to be very efficient with competitive pricing. Their communication was excellent and shipping quick, fireplace is great. I believe they ordered directly from Carron so brand new stock, I recommend them.

Avoid this company
Be very careful with this company. My 85 year old mother ordered the wrong fire on-line. By the time she had realised it was not the right model it was 17 days since delivery. This fell 3 days outside their terms and conditions and as a result, they have flatly refused to consider a refund or exchange. Companies that believe in great customer service do what’s right, poor companies refer you to their terms and conditions! I would strongly recommend you avoid this company.

Given we sell a lot of technical products, as a responsible retailer on receipt of this customer order we sent them an email asking if they had checked with a gas safe engineer to see whether the fire they had ordered would fit by having a site survey carried out at their property as we recommend on our website.
They replied confirming they had done this, so we then arranged to dispatch the fire, which was delivered to them. 17 days after delivery the customer emailed us to say they wanted to return the goods as they wouldn’t fit which they stated was due to being wrongly advised by their fitter that the fire would fit and be suitable which transpired to be incorrect advice.
When purchasing goods online Consumer Rights Regulations allow up to 14 days from receipt of the goods to notify the seller if they wish to return them which we abide by and such regulations don’t allow for any specific set of individual circumstances or deviation in the interest of fairness to everyone. Unfortunately, as the customer was outside of this timeframe when they asked to return the goods, regrettably we were unable to accept a return as there has to be a cut-off point for returns, which Consumer Rights Regulations set not us which is made clear to our customers from the outset of the purchase so we are completely transparent.
It’s very disappointing that this customer has chosen to leave a 1-star review on our profile rather than holding their installer accountable for the incorrect professional advice they were given which led to this situation. We couldn’t have done any more as we did seek their assurances that they had checked with their installer that the fire would suit them and they confirmed it was suitable. We do appreciate the anxiety & frustration the customer finds themselves in but venting their anger on us rather than with their installer is unreasonable in the circumstances.
