The only place to shop for Far Eastern antiques and wares.
I have been buying at Indigo for over 20 years. Over the years it has been fun seeing the fruits of their regular buying expeditions to the Far East often in the remotest parts of India, Nepal, Bhutan and China where now their vast network enables them to make the most informed and original purchases of antiques as well as an ever-widening list of suppliers of beautiful objects, clothes and gifts. I don't know of any outfit who matches them.

Dear Julia. Thanks for taking the time to post a review.
We really appreciate your feedback. We are so happy to hear that you love what we do and look forward to welcoming you back again soon.

A great collection of unique pieces
It’s a stunning collection of furniture and other items from the Far East, but I feel most of the items are too expensive for most people and certainly out of my budget. I did buy a few small items and I enjoyed a glass of wine and great hospitality.

Resposta da Indigo Antiques
Thank you for your review, and it was genuinely lovely to see you at our recent Open Day. I’m so pleased you enjoyed the collection, found a few pieces to take home, and felt well looked after, that really means a lot to us.
We think about a pricing a great deal. Every piece we sell is individually handmade or is a work of art in its own right. Handcrafted by someone pouring hours and days of their time into creating something beautiful. Nothing comes from factory or mass production. That inevitably places our collection at a different price point to many high street or volume-produced alternatives.
For us, each piece is something closer to functional art. We spend a huge amount of time sourcing, travelling to India & across Asia to find the right items, and then restoring them here in Wiltshire with a great deal of care and expertise. Supporting skilled craftspeople and traditional techniques is a really important part of what we do, and that’s reflected in the final pieces. That said, we do always try to keep our pricing as fair and balanced as possible, and to offer a range of items across different budgets. Interestingly, a number of our recent Trustpilot reviews mention our prices as being “fair” or “reasonable”, particularly when compared with other specialist dealers, which is always reassuring for us to hear. But I do completely appreciate that not every piece will feel accessible to every budget.
More broadly, we want Indigo to be a place people can enjoy regardless of what they’re buying, whether that’s discovering something unique, learning a bit about these pieces, or simply spending time in an inspiring environment. Creating that kind of space, and supporting local skills and restoration work here in Wiltshire, is a big part of what we do, especially in what is a challenging climate for small independent businesses.
Thank you again for your thoughtful feedback and for spending time with us. We really do appreciate it, and hope to welcome you back again in the future.
Best wishes,
Tom, Director & Owner at Indigo
