Popped into Jacks Shack yesterday as I thought I had a problem with my electric hook up. The guy who helped me was really friendly and very helpful.
They had converted the van for the previous owner. In the end it was fine and there was obviously a problem with the hook up at the campsite I’d been staying on.
When I asked what I owed him after he’d tested it for me, he wouldn’t take anything.
I’m really happy with the van and would have no problem recommending Jacks Shack to anyone. This is the 2nd time I’ve called in and they were the same last time. Thank you for your help and advice!

I have had my trusty Jacks shack van for over 4 years. I bought it converted and haven’t had any of the issues some others seem to complain of. The electrics needed looking at so popped back recently. Frankie fixed it the same afternoon! I wouldn’t hesitate to go back again for any issues or maybe an upgrade..

There is no end to how much these guys were helpful, we have an custom air ride adapted van for our son, that broke suddenly, within 30 mins of a very helpful phone call i was at the workshop and 1 hour later i was back on the road, thank you to all the guys at the shack who rallies around to find the parts needed to fix the van, totally recommend to anyone who believes in real customer service.

In January we bought a used VW Transporter previously converted by them. They were most helpful in advising us over which van to select. Their after-sales support was great.

We have had a few trips away and are looking forward to using our van over the summer.

These guys are great. Purchased an amazing VW camper from them in November 2023 different from any others we had seen, built on a new van. Clayton power means we have power for days, even has an induction hob. Help was at the end of the phone when we needed it on first trip out and they have been happy to answer any questions we have had since we got the van which we have now had for a few months.

One of the highs for me is the great craftsmanship and pride taken in the work.

Would not hesitate to recommend Jack’s Shack for a campervan build.

They even managed to sell our previous van for us.

Jack's Shack are the guys you need to build your van, your way.
The attention to detail is beautiful and throughly well thought out.
I love my van and showing it off all while without even realising it.
That speaks volumes.

Jack, Marc and Frankie helped me out with my T25 camper on a number of occassions. Most notably, they helped to make my very old gas system safe with new copper piping.

Really friendly helpful team, great knowledge and advice throughout the build!

Seriously - do not put your camper van into these guys' hands. The quality of workmanship is poor. You will end up having to take it somewhere else or fixing the issues they have created yourself. Note - they can remove reviews on Google - so this is the reason all reviews there are positive. Trustpilot and FB they cannot.

Well got to say you guys exceeded yourselves this time !! Had T6 in with the shack for new Thule awning , electrics upgrade and solar panels . Full tidy up of the daily scratches and dints . Came back better than ever THANK YOU . The guy on the pitch next doof offered me 7k more than I paid for the bus after 3 great years . Thanks again to Jack, Mark and the team . Better now you lost that 16 stone of useless fat in Sear mayes , keep up the great work . Next project comming soon !

Xr2 restoration project
Very bad review incoming.Waiting on report to disclose full list of problems...Paint has lasted 6 months,it requires another respray...Cracking and rust coming through paint.
Unable to drive vehicle because ive been advised and warned it is extremely dangerous to drive.
Petrol leaking from numerous points.Brake fluid leaking out every point...Do not trust these with your passion...Tried to resolve but getting that liquidation message.Xr2 currently sat unable to use.50th birthday surprise ruined.Almost 20'000 pounds lost.DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY WITH YOUR PASSION --will update with report and bankers merchant judgement...My thoughts to john and jess,i hope you find the solution.It seems PAST THREE comments have been literally burned!!! DO NOT trust this company.

it went to independent mot and brought it back because it unsafe...Cervo master cylinder doesn't match the spare ,i bought two,replaced 2016,the One i have here doesn't match the one fitted, stolen by you!!! Carburetor not original doesn't match photos taken prior too you taking it for restoration and swapping it for other carburetor...So you lie about you mot'ing vehicle,and you steel parts and replace them with knackered parts--- YOU DID NOT MOT XR2--- I HAD TOO BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T EVEN DRIVE XR2--- LIARS AND THIEVES --- as for saying nothing was brought to your attention,CRAP-- engine needs rebuild,clutch gone,brakes knackered,non original parts,carburetor non original.Half a sqray job,didnt do interior or underside,paint bubbling and rust spots everywhere.Parts missing,Swapped out for inferior parts.You destroyed it.A simple air fix model you said......Con merchants....Zero-based trust.You had it back and did nothing.You gave the quote for complete restoration,.All we got was half a car resprayed.You even had it on spit roast,ready to spray and didn't...When we tried to get in contact,you had gone into liquidation and no contact could be made,we did in fact find out from employee who informed us jaxshack has gone bust and is no longer employed,and stated it came out of nowhere without warning or notice...It would have caught fire.It was that close.You gave back a dangerous vehicle.A vehicle that could very easily,kill someone..Thankfully,im glad that isnt the case.

Shockingly bad workmanship and they may steal your money.

These guys are terrible at what they do. We paid them a lot of money to convert our van and they did half a shoddy job then called us and all the other clients to say come get your half finished vans we are going into liquidation. They changed their name on companies house then just started up with the same name (no longer limited) in kegworth. They kept all of our money, failed to pay up against the ccj we now have against them.

Their workmanship was horrendous. We are still fixing all the stuff they botched now. Do not trust these wide boys. We they talk a good talk but I would many trust them to put a shelf up having seen their work let alone with a whole conversion.

Happy to chat to anyone about our experiences so nobody else has their dream van ruined.

As an addition given the feedback from these shysters. None of the issues I am bothered about having anything to do with the battery issue. That was separate (if I'm honest I suspect a dangerous installation). My review is on the implementation of the rest of the van. DO NOT TRUST THESE UNQUALIFIED GOONS. THEIR POOR WORKMANSHIP KEEPS ON GIVING & YOU WQILL WILL REGRET EVER HAVING GETTING INVOLVED WITH THESE CON MEN. THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES.

Whilst "opinions may differ", the pictures, videos and emails from the contractors who remedied the work will tell the real story without prejudice. Please feel free to contact me directly for copies of these. Feel free to look up my 'awarded' CCJ against these amateurs also. Of course, they haven't paid that either.

It is a long and tragic saga, but I will keep this brief.

JS were supposed to convert my friend's crafter and complete it around a year ago, however, they never finished it and worse than that:

1. They set it on fire
2. Said they were entering into receivership on 14 March 2023
3. Told us to collect it or the liquidator will take possession of it
4. We have been left with the difficulty of remediating the fire damage and completing it and the van still has so many defects

Jack’s Shack Limited has now changed its name to Mountsorrel Campervan Limited, Jack’s Shack does not exist as a limited firm, I cannot post links but check at Companies House.

Do not trust these charlatans.

Lynne Smith - Took our basic van to Jacks Shack for Pop Top, Electrics, Swivel Seat and Pull out Awning. Seamless experience from start to finish, even though we were not looking for a full conversion. Customer service and quality of work was outstanding. Would recommend to anyone.
