Oxford branch for ear suction. No instructions on location of clinic or presence of barrier so I was late. Clinician said he didn’t have my phone number despite my having completed the required on line forms. No washbasin in clinic room for handwashing. Clinic is an office. No bed to lie on so you have to sit up with no head support which increases risk of problems such as perforated ear drum. Clinician asked me if I’ve had suction before and what my clinical background was twice and he seemed rushed. Wasn’t listening. His hands were shaking as he placed the suction in my ear. He didn’t record any notes. The whole set up feels unprofessional and lacking in clinical governance. I left before treatment started. Clinician needs to sit down and do a proper consultation and put the patient at the center of the experience.
