Good agent, bad app

I want to be clear that the agent helping me did all she could do,but i can't give a good rating to an app that costs this much time and money. If one of the items is mentioned gets fixed I will return an make my rating better.
One more time if I could give the agent a 5 star review and the app a 1, I would.

outstanding contractors app

outstanding contractors app , I don't know what I would do without it, handles my invoicing collects data when paypal payments arrive notifies my customers when payments are over due connects to my accounting . and great price for small business

I've been a customer with joist over 3…

I've been a customer with joist over 3 years! They are scamming people on processing fees. They have some of the worst customer service I've had! Please look elsewhere for your business!

My emails won't always go thru even…

My emails won't always go thru even when I'm on wifi. I have to keep upgrading to get the same system i haven been using.

Joist is great! BUT…….BEWARE FEES!

I feel that Joist is pretty amazing, until they started accepting credit card payments. They claim it’s only 3 1/2% or 3% whichever one, however they go through PayPal. Not only does Joist charge you 3 to 3 1/2% for using the credit card but when they put you through PayPal other fee fees, bring this total up to 10%! Which is absolutely ridiculous.

I had a customer pay us $14,000 on their credit card payment and they charged me $1400 in fees! I will not use the Credit Card Service services any longer. I pay extra for Joist pro and I should not have to pay these kind of fees. nobody should this takes away from your profits.

I do understand that everybody has to make money, but that does not justify what they charge for credit card fees!

Hi Ken, sorry we couldn't help get to the bottom of this when you reached out to us. We would still be glad to investigate if you would like to share your reports from PayPal so that we can investigate further. For now, we just want to assure you that there is only one fee charged for processing standard online credit & debit card payments. PayPal offers some additional services, like Instant Deposits or Buy Now, Pay Later which will incur additional fees, but the standard rate for processing an online payment is still 3.49% + $0.49 per transaction.

Why it’s Worth It…

The tools and options they provide for creating Estimates & Invoicing are very useful. I’ve never had the App crash, so reliability is high. They also provide useful upgrades that should be recognized too. Overall a great App to have for creating Estimates/Invoices and more!

Would be nice if customer chooses to…

Would be nice if customer chooses to use credit card, they would automatically pay the financial charges. We don't ask every customer how they plan to pay.

Thanks for sharing your feedback on Joist Payments. We completely understand that it can be hard to know how your customer will pay. We hope we can find a way to offer a "surcharge" feature to help with situations where it's unclear how the customer wants to pay, but there are some legal technicalities which unfortunately prevent us from offering surcharging at the moment. However, we do have the "Cover Fees" feature in the app which can help to ensure your customers pay the fees -- simply toggle it on by default, then toggle it off if your customers decide to pay online. We know it's not always possible to coordinate that with a customer, but at least turning on the "Cover Fees" feature will ensure that you don't end up paying the fees unexpectedly.
