Oil did not perform at a high smoke point, no refund
I ordered a 4-gallon carboy of refined (high smoke point) avocado oil from this company. My first use was an attempt to make popcorn using the same procedure I normally use with my usual brand - the same cooking vessel, the same heat level, and with "test" kernels to indicate oil readiness. However the oil repeatedly smoked over multiple attempts, before the kernels could pop, even though a high smoke point oil should tolerate temperatures needed to make popcorn.
When I contacted the company they would not acknowledge a potential product defect but instead cited their 30-day return policy and my transfer of some of the oil from the plastic container to a clean glass bottle, as grounds to deny a refund.
Given the product's performance and the lack of customer support I will not be purchasing from this company again.
