It's full of pedos looking to groom small children

Did not realize the extent of kidschat's error.

I logged onto kidschat under the name "heluvsaariaa" (a 13 year old girl) and eventually got into a call with a paedophile. He did DISGUSTING things on this call. Literally indescribably vile. And i decided "Okay, I'll let it be known that he's a pedo."

NOPE. Instantly, another person says i'm "Age-lieing" and doxxing. (which to be fair, i did say his full name and i do deserve that) and then tells me to report it to the mods. They then tell me that the mods are FOURTEEN TO NINETEEN YEARS OLD. Why, why on EARTH would you put a CHILD in a position to ensure the safety of OTHER CHILDREN?!?!? They then tell me that there is TWO ADMINS (both 20+ years of age) in charge of the site, then tell me that it's "More like 1 as Arkham is more TC focused". There is ONE PERSON fully focused on banning the HUNDREDS of pedophiles on the website. ONE. Within 5 MINUTES OF LOGGING IN, i got TWENTY TWO messages from users who had their age as NINETEEN. Why are you allowed to make your age over 18 on KIDS CHAT. They sent me links to Whereby, a video calling service, which usually could not be sent as it's a link. But they bypassed ALL filters by using SPACES. SPACES IN BETWEEN LETTERS BLURS THE LINE BETWEEN THE CHILD NOT BEING ABLE TO CLICK A LINK, AND THE CHILD JOINING THE LINK AND BEING EXPLOITED. This is absolutely appalling.

I was threatened to be hacked by a predator because I wouldn't go to another website to video call and show my feet within five minutes of logging in. Inbox was flooded by 15+ perverted losers almost immediately.

Like the other reviews clearly say, i'm begging you to not go on here. Just please don't i have been for a while and the creepy messages from pedos have stuck with me and i hate myself for coming on here. dont make this mistake. people here will manipulate and groom you. Filled with pedos, not safe at all, zero moderation and no safetymeasures whatsoever.

As of 2022 the site hires between the ages of 14 and 19. No ID or professional training is required. The site's workers are all anonymous. With the goal of abuse their position of power, a bad actor can easily make friends with some of the existing staff and follow the rules to become a mod. There are no sensible measures in place to verify that the staff members aren't predators masquerading themselves as teens eager to help. Anyone who is in charge of upholding the rules and regs should submit an ID and undergo a child abuse registry check for the sake of everyone's safety. Staff ages 14 to 17 are not okay. Teens shouldn't be put in an environment where they are exposed to images of child abuse and witnessing grooming. Given that this chat is targeted at minors between the ages of 13 and 15, yet allows teens between the ages of 16 and 19, having unpaid, untrained admins and mods poses a direct threat. While it is true that there is no foolproof way to stop a predator from becoming a mod, using the argument a predator can still join the staff even if moderators had to submit ID and undergo a child abuse registry check as justification not to put reasonable safeguards in place show that the site is not doing everything in its power to reduce the likelihood of a predator modding. The site ought to use paid, fully qualified adults who have passed the safeguards to ensure the uttermost protection. Under no circumstances should a 14–17 year old or an 18–19 year old who is not trained staff with ID verification moderate. It is unfair to blame the moderators in this situation. They do not call the shots. The moderators have to follow the rules placed on them by the admin which in return has to get approval from the owners before going forward with any changes to the rules. For every predatory mod that slips through is a handful of dedicated volunteers who do everything they can to make the chat safer. There is a lack of round the clock moderation. Mods work sporadically throughout the day and night. It would be unreasonable to expect an unpaid teen who has responsibilities outside the chat such as work, school and homework to spend their time cleaning up child abuse imagery and removing/ reporting predators given this is a position they should have never been put in. Mods some times come back to 50+ reports. Some of the mods are survivors of grooming from predators on the site and choose to put matters into their own hands. The owners are not actively encouraging overaged users to join the chat and there is not sufficient evidence to accuse them of being predators and they do provide some quality tips to keep you safe. Clearly the owners are aware of the dangers that come with online chatting. Teens can be dumb and make bad choices. Safety starts with the users but more can be done to improve the chats moderation. Anyone can login without an account. Guest accounts are responsible for lots of spam and predatory guest accounts are common. Guest accounts on a website for teens is unsafe. The owners refuse to make registered accounts only a permanent change for the sake of boosting traffic and making it so more users make a registered account. Guest accounts do not add value to the chat. As a bare minimum guest accounts should be barred from chatting in the public chat or DM and only be allowed to preview the chat. To paint a picture of how bad the problem with guest accounts is KOS (kick on site) lists exist with 500+ overage users and these lists become useless after a while because eventually the predators come back with new usernames. Predators are being kicked and banned daily. At any given time there are hundreds of KOS or banned predators. There are too much predators for the moderators to reasonably keep up with. Reporting a predator using the report button does get the predator banned. A lot of what moderators do is submit ban reports to the admin in a private sub-room for staff only. It is frustrating to see unpaid, volunteer minors moderators scurry to clean up the same predators. Kids chat is closely related to a few other chats for 13-19 year olds and what ends up happening is the predators are going in circles from chat to chat. The ban and kos lists on these sister chats are filled with many of the same predators. When kids chat finally gets on top of the predator problem, the predators flock to the other 13-19 chat rooms. Every one of these other 13-19 chats have the same issues as kids chat. IP bans are temporary, the ban list is cleared on occasion and when that happens the moderators are working harder to clean up the known predators. Teens are allowed to date and there is even a dating sub room. Dating and talking to strangers on a chat is always unsafe. Teens are allowed to look for a date. This goes against the safety blog telling users not to show themselve or give out SM.

I started using the site about 3 years ago now when I was 11. Firstly, I am transgender and I am gay, please keep that in mind. Their moderation is absolute bullcrap. I have applied for moderator several times but get rejected every time before they even read my application. I have had to switch accounts multiple times because I get banned or kicked for no reason. Yes, there are a load of pedos in there but if you go into the side rooms, there are nice people. I recommend setting your PM settings to "friends only" or off completely.
Stay away from guest accounts, these are most likely the pedo accounts and can be dangerous.
The huge problem is the moderation system. One mod there is called Luminous. He kicks me as soon as I come online just because I switch my gender between male and female when it clearly states in my profile that I do this depending on how I feel as I am transgender and identify as neither. Apparently, this is cat fishing?!
I get no warning or explanation, just kicked for an entire day and sometimes a week just because of that.
Just last night, I came out to my parents as gay and I had a few issues. I have told the site users this over a year ago though and people make fun of it. The mods kick me just because of it because apparently it's wrong. There are heaps of homophobic people there and nobody seems to know their manners.
The problem being the moderation, I will have to say that it's a good bypass of time but they need to sort out their moderation system immediately, they are driving people away because of it.

If I do get moderator, I will update this review and I hope to make this site a lot better and safer for all the kids and parents that struggle with this or struggle with online abuse.

As a kidschat user, I need to clear things up yes the main room is filled with pedos dont go in there I highly recommend just going in the mha rp room theres legit people in there and I made a good friend group some of us even got so close that we exchanged phone numbers and video call frequently, its a safe website if you're on the right side of it

This website is crap, it has a lot of child predators, and the website doesn't do a damn thing.
A guy had made a video talking about this site and criticizing it because there are a lot of people doing things wrong, and even that freaking website says he's doing it for money, this site should get take down forever.
