kiva.com is a non-profit making no- interest loans to individuals and groups in primarily third world countries. Members select from 100's of profiles the person(s) they wish to lend to, charge the amount they select, and simply wait to hear that the lendee has paid back the loan. Then they can reinvest the money and/or add another lendee. kiva.com requests an administrative fee but it is not required. It has been my joy to lend to women in Tajikistan, Ukraine, Bolivia, Pakistan - I have now lent to 28 people in many countries and all but one has repaid on time, and that one has finally repaid. It is a great pleasure to see that a woman has started a new business, purchased farm animals to support their families, or been able to purchase uniforms, books, and pay tuition for a child to go to school. This is how we can change the world - one family at a time.
