Intentionally Slow and Incompetent
Having left a previous employer with whom I had been paying into the share saving scheme it took link group 4 MONTHS to sell my shares and return my funds to me. They will only send money via cheque and don't adhere to their own timelines in the guidance they (eventually) send you. If you call they'll tell you it's on the way and say whatever they can to get you off the phone.
In the modern age of almost every broker being able to sell shares and have the funds sent via BACS to you in a few days this is truly unacceptable and I'd recommend everyone (and any company thinking of having them administer their share saving scheme) to avoid using link group.

Great Company
I have worked for Link Group for 2 years as a customer service advisor in the Shareplans Department. Loved working there, especially seeing the beautiful view of the sky garden. Worked part time hours which was great and the company are great at rewarding employees, everyone there was very friendly. Would highly recommend anyone who is wanting to work there.
A disgrace
A complete shower! This organisation should not be allowed to manage any financial matters. They are a disgrace!
They simply DO NOT want to give you your money and will do everything possible to hold on to it as long as possible. Just about to write a complaint to The Financial Ombudsman.
Prepare for war if you want your own money.
Trying to transfer my ISA has so far taken 10 weeks, and counting. Apparently the actual transfer can be done in 24 hours, but obstacle after obstacle, totally contradictory messages, failure to log phonecalls means I have lost one good ISA rate. The performance of my ISA has been utterly appalling, and while it continues to lose value, I am, like many, many other reviewers, stuck in the most impossible, frustrating Catch 22. An hour and twenty minutes on the phone of lies, circumlocution, and evasion was utterly depressing and demoralising (that's just the most recent chapter). I can't begin to understand why the FSA would allow this.

It took 8 months for me to sell my shares. They lied to me, lost paperwork, and were incompetent at every step. I’m currently seeking legal council against both Linkgroup and Diageo, who I believe has prior knowledge and is complicit in this fraud of a company.

I had shares with this company and I have called and emailed them to cancel my shares. Long story short, they says they have cancelled and send money to me but I haven’t received anything. Now I am dealing with Equinity and they are trying to sort this out for me. Please ovoid this company at all times.
The worst financial company I have ever tried to deal with.
I have been buying and selling shares for over seventy years. In all that time, LINK Group are the worst organisation I have ever tried and failed to deal with. My wife tried to sell some shares, completed documentation correctly - name, address, investor code, listed company on LINK. She received a note from the website "Forbidden: Access denied". I have a more apposite name. It rhymes.

I requested a copy share certificate , link asset services want £300 !!! I thought I’d heard wrongly for a piece of paper !! . Plus they posted the original to my old address!! Dick Turpin is alive and kicking absolute rip off . They must be losing a lot of clients to resort to this . Avoid 100%

Isn’t it sad that you have to write such bad reviews about companies knowing that their true-selves are out there for the world to see! Terrible service. No communication and took a long time to cash shares from a company that made me redundant and was desperate for the money. Took 8 weeks in total! Very poor indeed!
Terrible company to deal with
Absolutely an appalling company to deal with.
All my communication is being done by email as it is expensive to phone them. I thought it was a freephone number... not so. It cost me £20 for the one and only call I have made to them (once bitten !!!)
They tried to charge me £273 to get indemnity cleared. I got it done at my bank FOR FREE !!!!!
It has taken me, up till now, about six months to try to cash in some shares I have with them. I am still trying.

Absolute Nightmare
Absolute Nightmare! I have had to deal with Link Group on 2 separate occasions recently.
1. I sold my house and bought a renovation project. Because I can't live in the renovation project I am also renting somewhere to live for now. i updated my address to the final home address, which all seemed fine (and I received confirmation letters to the old and new address), until my financial adviser tried to get a statement for my ISA, and they then said they couldn't verify my address as it wasn't the same address as my bank account (even though I had changed the address 2 months before). They refused to let me access anything until the address matched my bank account. Then I received another letter saying that they knew mail was being redirected (but not from the address the ISA was now registered to) so they were going to block access again until I re-proved my ID!!!! Everybody who moves house has post redirected so when I told them this they agreed that nearly everybody who moves house has this issue unless all addresses are updated in a very short time span and post is not redirected!!!
2. My father passed away and had some shares still on old share certificates. to date I have had to send 3 letters (emails not acceptable!) signed by both executors. Instead of asking for all the information at once, they wait for one set then ask for another, and on and on it goes. As I don't live near the other executor, I have to produce the letter and sign it, then post it to the other executor, and she then signs it and posts it to Link Group
I haven't had as much grief with either my change of address or my father's estate from any other financial organisation!

If I could give this company a score of 0 I would. I have been trying to cash in a small pot pension since 12th December 2022, in the two and a half months since then Link Group have not kept to any of the 'promises' made, have not kept me up-to-date with their progress and I haven't received my small pot. I will be reporting Link Group to the Pensions Ombedsman for its egregious management.
