Terrible admin / Computer systems.
I placed an order and was charged twice on my credit card. It took four phone calls to get this refunded. I had to provide credit card statements to prove I had been charged twice. After about a month I received a refund for one of the payments. This then created an invoice that I was told I had to pay for the order. I was then chased by email to settle the outstanding amount. After emailing customer service I was told that "my account had been sorted" and I received an £0 balance letter.
Yesterday I received 2 "final reminder" letters in the post from the London mint office, threatening legal action and applying extra charges to my £0 account.
I do not recommend shopping with the London Mint Office as they do not have a functioning system for purchases or account management.
The interaction with the London mint office was so terrible, I was searching "London Mint Office Scam" as the incompetence was almost unbelievable that a company could be this bad.

Unwanted upselling
Ordered a coin, then got a call couple days later to say they have 5 limited edition ones for £249, and i mentioned i wanted sometime to think about it, they sent an email and even at the bottom of the email, mentioning they were waiting confirmation if i wanted to proceed with them, and couple weeks later, they have sent it out to me with the invoice needing to be paid. Called up and can only speak with the advisor previously dealt with me and was told a manager was listening to the call, and when the advisor called me back. She mentioned that she thought I had accepted it, but surely if you have listened to the call, you would have accepted fault and apologised and just taken it back. Anyhow, now got to wait up-to 14 working days for them to send me a return label and go through the fuss of returning something I never wanted in the first place.
Best advice I would give is if you do order be cautious about up selling and random extra's being sent and being expected to pay and then the cheek of them saying you can spread it monthly if you did want to keep it!!

This was for the Elvis plectrum coin , a little gift for my wife , it arrived very quickly ,in good packaging in a nicely illustrated book style folder 🙂 LMO are a reputable company and carry an extensive range of products , I can't fault them in any way , I did get a follow up call from a very polite salesperson to see if I was interested in the full Elvis collection but NO hard sell .
