At MacInnes, we believe the golden opportunities of whisky cask ownership should be available to everyone. Since our story began in 2021, our goal has always been to make the world of whisky cask ownership more transparent and welcoming for every new customer intrigued by its potential. Driven by decades of financial expertise, a passion for whisky inspires us – and we care deeply about the centuries of craft poured into every dram. By purchasing only the finest single malts from renowned Scottish brands, we make it easier for seasoned and new customers to access the tax-free benefits and long-term rewards associated with the world-beloved ‘water of life’. Whether you’re looking to buy a cask for yourself or future generations, every member of the MacInnes team can provide assistance and expert knowledge. MacInnes is born from a longstanding heritage of financial expertise. Such a heritage enables us to hold stock for you to choose from, giving you a wide choice of casks, alongside ensuring the cask you select is the same as you receive. We hold WOWGR (Warehousekeepers and Owners of Warehoused Goods Regulation) status, giving you peace of mind that we are fully authorised and HMRC-approved. We bring a personal passion and dedication to the craft of whisky-making. Our team members are all qualified from the Edinburgh Whisky Academy, and we’re proud to select only branded casks of the finest single malts. Whether you’re a seasoned whisky cask collector or new, we’ll guide you through our stock list options and support you throughout the journey, enabling you to enjoy effortless ownership of a cask full of history – with the potential to mature into significant gains in the future. As with any investment, your capital is at risk. The value of your investment can go down or up.

Sounds good
Nothing against the company. They seem very personable on the tv advert. (Even though they might be actors!)
I just do not understand why one might "buy" whisky that is not going to be drunk.
Seems crazy. I'd prefer to store my own cask in my own cellar....and enjoy drinking it!
Had a very informative and helpful reply from the company. I was clearly wrong and failed to understand the subtleties of owning a cask of whisky. I just imagined happy Hogmanays to come. Thank you to Mcinnes Whisky.
Ps. Not sure I approve of paying Duty 😀

Resposta da MacInnes Whisky
Hi Margaret, thank you so much for taking the time to review MacInnes Whisky. We apologise for the delay in our response.
I am delighted to say that every person in our TV advert works for us. Jonathan, Theresa, Sam, Ben, & Thomas are all a part of the MacInnes team.
To answer your question, the intention is that the whisky will indeed be drunk, but at a time when it has reached its very best condition. As the whisky matures, its potential value to customers also matures. Our role is to facilitate and enable customers to access the opportunity of purchasing a whole cask.
If a customer were to buy a cask and wish to store it in their own cellar, they could do so. However, they would first need to pay the duty on the whisky the moment it leaves a HMRC-approved duty-bonded warehouse. This is the reason casks are typically stored in a bonded warehouse until the whisky is to be bottled and sold, or drunk, thereby delaying the payment of duty on the contents of the cask until a sale or final value is realised.
I hope this helps to better explain our role in the whisky market. Please don't hesitate to get in touch with us at sales@macinneswhisky.com if you would like any more information.
Very best wishes.

A professional service. Highly recommend.
Jon and his team advised me professionally, ahead of my cask purchase. I settled on a cask of Tullibardine. MacInnes kept me updated following the purchase.
It was important to me to understand how I could 'exit' the investment. Jon's communication was excellent - always responsive and straight forward. Jon found a buyer, and I have made a nice return. I can highly recommend MacInnes - easy to deal with, professional and honest. Thank you Jon.

Entry into the whisky market
I recently invested in whisky casks with MacInnes. Whilst I'm an experienced investor, I am new this asset class and it was a very positive entry into the market! Jon and the team are experts in their field and highly experienced. The tax efficiency of this particular investment was one of the main draws for me, something that Jon can advise on as a chartered accountant, with his own accountancy practice in the UK. I would thoroughly recommend this company to any high net worth or sophisticated investor looking to diversify their portfolio and gain exposure to this vibrant market!
