Don't send your kids to renton school district.
Simply put: Don't send your children to renton school district. I loved middle school but it was hell in middle and high school.
As a child with a disability I got made fun of a lot, got picked on and belittled and hazed. The teachers did little to deter it and end it. It was just an on-going issue until I gradated from school. This mentally affected me so much I spent most of my 20's to 30's recovering from it. The school needs to have tolerance classes for individuals with disabilities, racial tolerance and discrimination tolerance and it would probably end most of these issues.
The Renton school district is a run of the mill educational system designed by the government. Students when they graduate here will be able to obtain low level jobs in retail and retail like environments. Some of them will be lucky and fortunate to go onto college and advanced degrees and work. Most of them will probably be stuck working minimum wage jobs or a little above at 500k corporations trying to make ends meet. If you require extra learning assistance you won't get it. You'll be left behind or shoved into the remedial classes.
The school still requires parents to teach children a large majority of life skills and basic daily common sense skills. I'm sorry but half the 40 year olds I interact with in my daily life don't even have common sense. Most struggle with the most basic math skills and have poor analytical thinking skills. The school use to have an ethics and manners class but the state did away with this program in the 1990's. I can not tell you how this has greatly affected many individuals I know. Ever hear the word karen? yes by eliminating this class you basically created a ton of karens being ass holes to retail workers.
