For transparency, we have no record of a separate booking or service experience under this reviewer's name. This is one of several near-identical 1-star reviews posted in relation to the same three-night reservation following documented post-stay charges.
No concerns regarding the hot water, spiders or any other maintenance issue were reported to our team at any point during the stay. Had any such issue been raised, we would have investigated and assisted immediately.
Following check-out, our professional cleaning team documented damage to a wardrobe handle which had not been reported, substantial additional cleaning requirements, and the property being left with lights and the immersion heater switched on at a high temperature.
The guest was contacted about these issues and given the opportunity to resolve the associated costs. When responsibility was disputed, the documented costs for additional cleaning, the handyman repair and exceptional energy usage were recovered from the security deposit in accordance with the booking terms.
These were not arbitrary charges. We have a responsibility both to our guests and to the owners whose properties we manage, and security deposit deductions are only made where there is evidence and a legitimate associated cost.
This remains one of the highest-rated properties in our portfolio, and we stand by the fair and documented way in which this matter was handled.
