I took the 30 Hour General Civil Mediation Skills Training through the Mediation Center in February 2026 and had a fantastic experience. The trainers are very knowledgeable and walked through concepts in ways that were easy to understand, often providing real life examples to further illustrate the lessons. I particularly liked building on skills as we went through the course, using role play scenarios to practice the new skills we were learning. I learned important conflict management skills that I will use in my professional and personal life. I highly recommend this course for anyone looking to learn positive and productive ways to facilitate conflict resolution.

I appreciated the guidance prior to class. Yet, I must say I do not always do upfront classwork, I wait to hear expectations of the class. I think a statement of emphasis that prior to start of class work in required to help the class move smoothly would be helpful. Especially within the Zoom setting.

The access to ongoing reference materials is a plus; and the online connection to the Mediation Center Learning Center is remarkable.

During class the open conversation and constructive feedback was significant.
My personal opinion is, the role plays are essential to this learning experience. Yet, personally, I miss the in-person communication readings that are omitted (somewhat) in virtual meetings.

Personally speaking, I would return for continued education opportunities with the Mediation Center.

I highly recommend Mediation Center's 30 hour Civil Mediation Training course!  The course was offered virtually which initially made me hesitate.  However, I found it convenient and the facilitators did such a great job, it was easy to stay engaged the entire time.  The course offers a valuable mix of instruction--via various teachers, practitioners and materials--and role-play experience.  A wealth of information was shared, and I learned a lot.  I also appreciated Mediation Center's responsiveness throughout the training and interest in supporting people post-training.  A great-value training--thank you!

Professional, informative, yet personable and enjoyable. The Mediation Center creates a warm enough atmosphere to foster learning yet a vigorous program to keep your attention and to really get your value from the price.

The training they offer is comprehensive and trainers are experts with a depth of experience. Communication about all aspects was excellent. They solicit feedback throughout the experience and are responsive to making immediate changes as needed. Was well organized, materials provided were invaluable. The 30-hour civil mediation training was one of the most comprehensive and beneficial trainings that I've taken, especially for a virtual training setting. The opportunity to learn from a number of different trainers and coaches along with the ability to practice through simulations and receive feedback were paramount in building skills and feeling prepared at the end of the training. I very much appreciated the organized approach and supportive learning environment. Thank you!

I completed the 40-Hour Family Mediation Course at Mediation Center in November and December 2024.
The instructors were very well prepared, knowledgeable and engaging. The materials were very helpful. Overall, the course was an enjoyable experience and a great value for anyone looking to apply for the Minnesota Roster of Neutrals, or for anyone interested in mediation and transformative conflict resolution methods.

In the 25 years of my professional career, the Mediation Center's training is, by far, the most useful training in which I participated.

The content is accessible and relevant for participants across all fields of practice. I am now desperate to engage in the Family Mediation course to further my understanding of conflict resolution skills and peacekeeping
