Charged for orders from 1-2 years ago without warning
Mercato charged me for multiple separate orders from 2024 and 2025 in 2026 — all months or years after the fact — with no advance notice. Their system had never marked these orders as complete, and rather than catching this internally, they let it sit until their billing system fired the charges automatically.
When I raised the issue, their Operations Manager personally refunded one charge and assured me it was resolved. Within days, multiple new charges hit my account.
I was forced to cancel my membership and had my card issuer block the merchant entirely. I received only a partial prorated refund on my annual subscription. When I pushed back on the additional charges, their response was essentially that the orders were fulfilled so the charges stand — with no acknowledgment that billing someone for orders placed 1-2 years prior is unacceptable practice.
If you use this service, audit your statements carefully. Charges can appear long after delivery with no warning.

December 3rd was a joke. All entrance ways were blocked. Back ups were everywhere. The police and Mercado did everything they could to make it a bad experience

Non mi sarei mai aspettato di dover scrivere una recensione negativa sul mercato… sono stufo di ricevere volantini promozionali per poi non trovare mai i prodotti scontati sugli scaffali, i commessi ti trovano mille scuse del tipo passi dopo mezzogiorno che carichiamo e ancora non trovi i prodotti in un giorno sono andato 4 volte e lo scaffale di quel prodotto era sempre vuoto come la carta igienica scontata non la trovi mai sugli scaffali o nelle corsie dedicate alle promozioni. Quando il volantino termina come se magia gli scaffali sono di nuovo tutto pieni…Io credo fortemente che si faccia apposta per attirare la gente con le promozioni non fare trovare niente o quasi del volantino per poi farle acquistare tutt’altro. Vergognoso

Ridiculous "help" bot has no solutions. Markets get cheated. Trying to cancel a membership is equally as frustrating. Good selection of markets. Disfunctional website.

Ultima consegna fatta a casa è stata pessima...il corriere non ha consegnato al piano e mia mamma di 71 anni ha dovuto portarsi tutta la spesa,compresa le bibite da sola. Il corriere è stato pessimo e spero che anche a lui possa capitare la stessa esperienza così magari inizia a lavorare seriamente. Mercato dovrebbe selezionare meglio chi consegna la spesa..... Purtroppo non penso di ordinare più online.
Bad website, bad service, don't waste your money
This site is horrible! Nothing works properly in the webpage - abondoned order remain in cart without clear indication until checkout. I had to enter the delivery address 4 times because the site kept incorrectly capturing the address. There is no transparency on fees and costs. Despite entering the address 4 times the delivery address name was still incorrectly input as my name (the billing name) and when I called to adjust because the recipient lives in a large apartment building that would be confused by name on the delivery they told me their system could not update anything about the address - how in the hell is a delivery service unable to update something like a name on a delivery? Insane, bad service, scam energy. walk away.

Mercato charging more for defective service
Mercato originally offered Mercato "Green" membership- an annual fee of $96.00 for "Unlimited Free Delivery from Your Favorite Grocer" Two weeks ago they initiated an additional service charge as a percentage of an order even for customers enrolled in Mercato Green. In the meantime the same defective delivery service continues without marked improvement: Couriers delivering to the same wrong address with no way for the customer to contact them directly. Couriers only picking up part of an order for delivery with no redeliveru option or a much later delivery time when the incomplete order is reported; Couriers who cannot read apartment door numbers or letters and thus leave their packages at the wrong door in the right address. A quick conversations with any merchant will reveal their frustration with Mercato services. becuase all these issue reflect negatively on the merrchant.
Failed Thanksgiving Catering Order | Terrible Customer Service
• I placed a Thanksgiving catering order from The Tin Building via online site Mercato for pick up on Thursday, November 28th between 12 – 1pm
• I arrived for pick up and was given 5 sealed boxes.
• I arrived home and the main course (turkey) was missing from the order, and I was given only side dishes (mashed potatoes, mushrooms, etc.).
• I called and emailed the restaurant and Mercato at approximately 1:53pm on Thursday, November 28th.
• The manager, Luis, immediately called me and texted me and said he would have a turkey immediately delivered. Sofia Posada Blancafort, Operations Manager, at Mercato had a single task to coordinate delivery of the turkey and she couldn’t deliver. The turkey arrived almost 4 hours late.
• The turkey arrived at 5:30pm, after our guests have left.
• On Friday, November 29th, the restaurant agreed to refund 50% of the order or $447.63.
• December 2nd, I receive a refund from Mercato for $285.90.
• This still leaves a refund of $161.73 remaining.
• I keep receiving promises of the additional refund, but nothing has been credited.
• Sofia Posada Blancafort asked me not to call her cell phone and continued to give me the run around. I would never use Mercato again, and I recommend they hire an Operations Manager who is organized and solely focused on the customer experience.

Mercato is over charging everybody to use their platform when we use our mercato credits they don't give us the sale price that are advertised in the stores instead they charge us double which is wrong consumer affairs needs to be involved this is a government funded program to help people

Vicedirettore scorbutico con i clienti(un cestino con la spesa dentro, spostato con un calcio, perché intralciava il suo lavoro, poteva essere spostato in altro modo). Terrible company / Shut it down
Wow seeing these reviews, I’m not the only one dealing with terrible customer services from this company. It need to be shut down . I ordered from this app and my order was send to the wrong house and they refuse to give me my refund.

I have used Mercato since 2020. It has been excellent, but in the past few months the customer service seems to have declined.
If you need help during a live order, the help is excellent.
If there is a problem with you order after you receive it, the interface is clumsy: I reported one problem immediately, upon receipt. BUt when I discoverd two problems with items, I could not report those problems through the website ( It said, the [prior] issue was being addressed) I sentan email about the issue with photo documentation I never heard back, and I just wrote for the 3rd or 4th time -- This happened May 31.and Today is June 17.
