Appalling Company. They make it really difficult to contact them. I called early to have power connected to a rental I was doing work on for one week. They told me everything was set and all I needed to do was contact them when I turned up to have the power turned on. Nope, when I got there I was told I needed a certificate of verification before they would turn on the power. Something I could have done in advance if they had told me. The power was not turned on until Thursday and we were leaving on Sunday. Also got told they would waive the reconnection fee since I had not been told about the CoV in advance, only to be charged it on my first invoice. Then I cancelled my account on the 5th of May, only for them to continue charging me for power after it had been turned off. In a cost of living crisis with a vacant property, they charged me $93 for the privilege. Seek out a company that has good customer service. These guys suck! I do not recommend

Worst power company service/communication ever experienced in NZ. After buying out Flick Energy our previous power supplier , our account was moved directly over to meridian with absolutely no mention from Meridian of what our new rates with them would be. Emails/bills are virtually non existent , and paying in the usual modern technological ways is difficult to say the least. I would directly call this company a Dinosaur and am moving company’s as we speak. There is much better service out there, with much better incentives, and much less sarcastic service when asked to speak to someone who can help. Please do your research through the online power switch portals and leave this particular one out of your choices.

Had a very pleasant experience with their electricians. Really polite, professional, and most of all, very matter-of-fact people. They did a great job. The issue with my grid was fixed in no time
