The artists at Miblart did a wonderful design for my book cover. They listened carefully to the overall look and feel that I wanted and provided a great first draft. I asked for a couple of tweaks to incorporate some items from the book, and they implemented them flawlessly. Their fees were very competitive. I'm delighted with the final product and will use them again.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I think it’s important to share my experience so other independent authors know what to expect.

While I was happy with the overall concept of the cover artwork, nearly every other part of the process was disappointing.

Before I hired MiblArt, I was told my requested production files could be completed within about a week. Instead, the project stretched to more than three weeks. Delays happen, but what made the experience especially frustrating was the repeated communication breakdowns throughout the project.

I had to remind the team multiple times that I needed additional deliverables beyond what they were working on. They would acknowledge the request, but then I’d have to ask again later because those files still weren’t included.

The revision process was equally frustrating. I would send a detailed list of requested changes, but each revision typically addressed only one or two items while ignoring the rest. Since each revision cycle took one to two business days, this turned what should have been a straightforward process into a lengthy back-and-forth. It often felt like my feedback wasn’t being read in full.

The final production files introduced additional problems. Some issues that had already been corrected in earlier versions reappeared in the final delivery. Other files did not match the specifications I had originally provided, despite my supplying detailed dimensions and explaining exactly where each file would be used. I didn’t receive the final production files until after payment had been completed, and that’s when I discovered many of these issues.

The most disappointing discovery came after delivery. When I needed to make routine publishing updates, I found that many of the source files were flattened or organized in a way that made professional editing extremely difficult or, in some cases, effectively impossible. Minor production changes became hours of work, and some problems simply could not be corrected without rebuilding portions of the cover.

A professionally delivered book cover should be more than an attractive image. Authors often need to make small updates for print specifications, color profiles, metadata, or future editions. In my experience, the files I received were not prepared in a way that reasonably supported those common publishing needs.

The artwork itself was good, but the project management, communication, attention to revision requests, production quality, and organization of the final files fell well below my expectations. Based on my experience, I would not hire MiblArt again.
