no items came up, that's unbiased but ridiculous

I wanted to like Mojeek for its privacy-first approach, but the search results just aren’t up to par. The relevance is often off, and I find myself going back to other engines to get what I need.

The interface feels outdated, and the lack of filtering options makes it hard to refine searches. Privacy is important, but it shouldn’t come at the cost of usability and accuracy.

They threaten you with csam or whatever besides irrelevant rrsults. I have been on the internet since 1995 and this is literally the first time that I have even been warned that I basically violated a law. My query? Netenyahu and biden false accuse hamas of beheading children.
Trustpilot like the rest of the internet censors so I wont be surprised if this is removed.
But be warned about mojeek. Even google has never threatened me for searching.

I am giving this search engine a go on all my devices and among all my family. So far so good. I have tried searching terms that are censored or manipulated on other search engines and the results were even handed. The moment I hear or suspect that Mojeek is manipulating results to suppress information questioning NATO wars or interrogating government-sponsored-'science' projects, I will change this review and leave Mojeek. To prevent the abuse of state and corporate power, critical thinkers need information on all sides of an argument, not just establishment-promoted narratives.

Privacy-friendly, small-tech, European search engine, with some really cool features you won't find elsewhere.
I want to browse the web without relying on Google and Microsoft (or selling them my data and personal info for free), and Mojeek really is a Godsend.

Also Mojeek Focus is a brilliant feature. It allows me to set up customised lists of sites to search. I have one for searching C++ documentation, one for recipes, one for gamedev assets, etc.
In some areas search results may still be lacking compared to Google, but if you use it properly (setting up customised search in Focus, etc.) it's extremely useful. Also, it's literally the only privacy-friendly and ethical search engine out there.

Mojeek is unique, I will give it that... (at times hosted in bedrooms and spare rooms off of repurposed equipment), but results are unreliable at best. The social media example is not helpful, as it just so easily becomes an excuse. When I type something in for a query, results are all over the place... it's like playing Russian roulette, every (time)!! So very entertaining if you're into wasting (it).

I gave a try to Mojeek 4 years ago, and it wasn't the best experience to use it on a daily basis. Now I gave a try again, and let's say that it's not yet the best one in the market, but I can see some good results in the second page and at least is more transparent thanks to all the settings and options that allow me to fine tuning the searches.
For the moment I will keep it as a second option meanwhile I will combine other sites to find my stuff.

I turned to DDG to free myself from the lecherous spy tactics employed by Google. Then, I heard about Mojeek and claims of a “No tracking privacy policy.” Research quickly exposed two truths: (1) their service is useless, with most searches yielding 0 results; and
(2) their claim of respecting user privacy is as worthless and hollow as their name (which is “simply made up”)

Uncensored listings are a real plus! For example, searching "vax damage" "covid hoax" "climate scam" "15 minute city control" produce useful results.
What is not so good is the speed. Very often, the page needs refreshing. But this is a minor drawback considering the comprehensive search results,

This search engine is not very useful. If searching for a specific link doesn't turn up as the most relevant in a search for the exact name says a lot about this website. With Mojeek it shows up on the second page. Great Job Mojeek!!!

What is the best web search engine for everyone?
Mojeek. It does not track users, it has its own original search algorithm and it does not spread false “reports” and anonymous fake slander or libel about innocent victims that were victimized by anonymous trolls and disgruntled criminals. I’ve made research and I can tell that not even the best and privacy respecting search engines such as DuckDuckGo, Swisscows, Startpage, SearchEncrypt, Qwant or You(dotcom) come close to MOJEEK. You can easily switch to using MOJEEK if you don’t want to feed the false rumour spreader engines, who respect your privacy but don’t respect your life and business. Keep in mind that Google, even that it now low-ranks the sites that allow and do not verify anonymous criminal libel, slander and defamation "authors" of "reports" such as "ripoffreport" it still serves corporate interest on its first 10+ pages and is severely biased. Go MOJEEK!

Excellent search engine that works exactly the way you expect a search engine should. Mojeek favours relevance over novelty, which is refreshing. In my tests, it has a considerably larger (by multiples) index than Bing. When doing a site search, it will even let you see more of the results than Google (Mojeek is capped at 1,000; Google might stop in the 300s even if it has spidered thousands of pages from that site). Site ordering in some cases could do with some improvement, but I have been on to Mojeek about this and, incredibly, received very courteous responses. (Try contacting Google or Bing. Youʼll be in for a long wait.) Now my default after 12 years of Duck Duck Go, which was too reliant on Bing. I wish Mojeek all the best!

So far, I love it! It seems to bring up the most most-clicked selection which is just what a search engine should do. Good job guys!!

A lot of the people who give negative comments to Mojeek should just stick with Googol. This company is building an alternative indecks not like Duck DuckGo or QWunt or Startpage who all just use other services. 10/10 for not being big tech and sticking to their morales. VERY GOOD!

Today I decided to look for a new search engine. One that is unbiased and doesn't do any tracking. Thought I found it with Mojeek so I tried it. Not 2 minutes into looking it over I see at the ver bottom left a small little posting of the city I live in. Excuse me but you just tracked me to where I live. Zero trust with anything internet. Mojeek should change your name to Morseek, like in we will know everything about you in 2 minutes.

I set this search engine as my default on various browsers after wanting to move away from google. However, this search engine is terrible. Example: enter your own name and a social media profile that would otherwise be available on Google. You probably won't get any results. The search engine works for the most basic searches for which you probably already know the domain name, e.g. "bbc news", but for anything more specific it just fails. You've been going for 15 years guys you should have made more progress on this project by now. As an alternative to google I would recommend Qwant.

It takes time to build up a good search index. Massive improvements since that last comment. I searched for climate change hoax and got a balanced set of results on the first page. Im excited about the future of this search engine.

I have used Google for years and figured I’d give mojeek a try. What a waste of my time. This is probably the worst search engine on the Internet.
