I emailed Moncada 4 times and no one replied

I emailed Moncada 4 times about an issue with my delivery (and messaged them on Instagram) and no one replied to me.

Update: they finally replied to me but did not resolve the issue. They are now threatening legal action regarding negative Trustpilot reviews. My recommendation is that you do not purchase from this company they have some of the most unresponsive, unhelpful and rude customer service I have ever experienced.

Premessa la veramente scarsa qualità degli occhiali (azienda siciliana ma produzione in Cina con materiali super plasticosi e lenti pessime); servizio clienti buono, nel senso che rispondono, ma poco organizzati…ma la cosa peggiore è che, se ordinate degli occhiali da loro e poi volete renderli, sappiate che per ogni occhiale loro si terranno 9€ della spedizione dell’andata ed in più dovrete pagare di tasca vostra la spedizione per il ritorno…ditemi voi se nel 2025 può ancora esistere una cosa del genere.
Praticamente nel mio caso ho letteralmente buttato all’aria quasi 30€, avendo preso due paia di occhiali entrambi tremendi.
SCONSIGLIATISSIMO!

Great glasses and great service

I ordered the Lucio-black Havana and I have not been disappointed. Great glasses and with a good protection case. The did not fit me perfectly but I received great advice on how to adjust them from Moncada and now they are perfect.

AVOID MONCADA AT ALL COSTS !

I ordered sunglasses on March 19, 2025, and never received them. The delivery company confirmed by April 4 that the package was lost. I sent Moncada all required proof—including a signed statement from the delivery company—but they still refuse to refund me.

Instead of taking responsibility, they keep stalling with vague excuses about "insurance" and possibly reshipping. I’ve done everything they asked, yet they continue to deny me a simple refund for an item I never received.

EDIT: After posting this review on Trustpilot, Moncada finally reimbursed my order, and I received the payment on May 12.

However, I have since received emails from them threatening legal action simply for sharing my honest experience here. This is deeply disappointing and only reinforces the extremely poor customer service I encountered throughout this process.

I sincerely hope Moncada reflects on this and treats future customers with more respect and professionalism.

Your recent review contains several demonstrably false statements that are misleading to prospective customers and constitute defamation under applicable law. We respectfully submit the following factual chronology of our interactions:

1. **Order & Delivery**
• You placed an order for sunglasses on **March 19, 2025**.
• Our records—including a photograph of the package at the delivery address and the carrier’s signed proof of delivery—confirm that the shipment was delivered on **April 4, 2025**.

2. **Customer Support & Documentation**
• Over the ensuing weeks, we exchanged **more than twenty (20) emails** in good faith to resolve your claim.
• Upon your request, we asked for an official loss statement from the carrier. You subsequently provided a signed declaration form from the shipping company.

3. **Offer of Replacement & Refund**
• Immediately following receipt of that declaration, we offered you a **no-cost replacement** pair of sunglasses.
• When you then requested a refund instead, we processed a **full refund**, which you acknowledged receiving on **May 12, 2025**.

Despite these diligent efforts to assist you, your review falsely asserts that Moncada “refuse\[d] to refund” you and “den\[ied] a simple refund for an item I never received.” In truth, we honored your refund request without delay once provided with the requisite documentation.

Moreover, your assertion that we “threaten legal action simply for sharing \[your] honest experience” mischaracterizes our right—and duty—to defend our reputation against demonstrably false and harmful allegations.

Accordingly, Moncada hereby:

* **Reserves** all rights to pursue legal remedies for defamation, including recovery of damages and injunctive relief, should you fail to do so within **seven (7) days** of this notice.

Best bang for your buck for high end sunglasses

I have just purchased my second pair which arrived 8 days so around 5 working days after the order, which I consider impressive for overseas shipping.

To date, I own the Marcellos and the Lucios, I am looking to also purchase the Notos to acquire the holy trinity of stylish sunglasses.

They are absolute compliment fetchers, and are perfect for the smart casual look.

Keep up the good work - looking forward to the next season of shades.

Glasses are as described but this is not an Italian company.

I ordered the Passolini model. Product is as described, comes with a case and protected from damage in the post. The glasses are stylish.

I have one negative thing to say : Despite the description on the website it is obvious this is not an Italian family business. Do research online and you will discover this easily. This is Chinese e-commerce. The glasses are very nice, they should be honest about the history of the company and not invent a fake history.

This does not make us a Chinese company—though we have great respect for Chinese companies, which are among the most advanced and productive in the world today.

Three pairs in

I'm on my third pair and second order of these glasses, I really like their shapes and colorways. I still run my pair of charcoal Gassman glasses.

On the most recent order, I had a small issue which was solved quickly. Would definitely order from them again.

Not nice

Had to wait 6 months to get my money back after a lot, a lot of emailing. It took me calling my bank to (double) check my accounts to wake them up. React on mails very slowly, sometimes only after two reminders. Glasses themselves seemed crooked, didn't keep one, have send them all back.

All our sunglasses are meticulously inspected before shipping and are packed securely: first inside a soft case, which is placed inside a hard case, then inside a paper box, and finally within a double airbag for protection.

I understand that using the word "crooked" makes your one-star review seem more impactful, but this is defamatory.

No customer service. Returned a pair of glasses because I didn’t like them they said they never got the glasses back so i had to pay for nothing cheap quality asswell

Sorprendentemente ottimo

Hanno consegnato oggi al mio ragazzo un paio di Lucio Black havana.

Ottimi, gli sono piaciuti molto e corrispondono a quanto descritto sul sito. Spedizione relativamente rapida, 4gg di anticipo sulla data inizialmente fissata.

L'occhiale no, non è una cinesata al dì la di dove arriva, poiché ha un discreto peso ed è solido.

Sono infatti molto colpita e consiglio questo brand.

It's probably the worst customer…

It's probably the worst customer experience ever. The shipping times on their website are completely false. For North America, if you are lucky, the package arrives within 4-6 weeks. If you are not, then good luck. You will either get no response or it will take days upon days to get an unhelpful response. It's almost impossible to get a refund from the company. Even when they offer one and you agree, they come back and they say something else.

Oh yes, and consistently, they threaten bad reviews with litigation. I am not sure how this company has repeat customers, they do the exact opposite of what one needs to do to run a company.

Ho fatto un reso

Avevo fatto un reso che era stato accettato ma per il quale non avevo avuto alcun rimborso.
L'assistenza si è mossa solo a seguito della mia recensione negativa su trustpilot.
Comunque, dopo essere stato contattato, ho ricevuto il mio rimborso.
Tramite email mi è stato detto che avrebbero rimborsato anche i costi di spedizione del reso, cosa che non è avvenuta, almeno fino ad oggi.
Non ho avuto una buona esperienza, quindi non posso valutare bene questa azienda.
Ma almeno ho riavuto indietro i miei soldi.

il rimborso era stato effettuato prima della recensione, ma purtroppo la transazione non è andata a buon fine. Alla tua richiesta tramite email abbiamo controllato la transazione e ci siamo assicurati che tu ricevessi il rimborso. Questo a prescindere da qualsiasi recensione. Per scusarci del disguido, abbiamo provveduto a rimborsare l’intero importo dell’ordine (€42,75). Seguendo la nostra policy, avremmo dovuto rimborsare €33,75 (€42,75 - spese di spedizione di €9).

Ti abbiamo spedito il prodotto richiesto, sostenendo i relativi costi di fulfillment e spedizione, che sono stati inclusi nel rimborso. Pertanto, l'ordine ci è costato complessivamente €12. Non solo non abbiamo ottenuto un guadagno, ma abbiamo registrato una perdita.
Sfortunatamente su migliaia di transazioni può capitare che un numero limitato non vada a buon fine e ci sia bisogno di intervenire manualmente. Purtroppo questo non é sotto il nostro controllo.
Detto ciò, ti ringrazio per la tua recensione.

Don't buy anything from them

Don't buy anything from them, they are frauds. I returned my glasses and I never got my money back. They are claiming that they never received the package even though it has been delivered as per tracking.

Difficulty receiving a refund

I ordered sunglasses from Moncada Eyewear, but the experience has been disappointing. After a long wait for delivery, the sunglasses arrived and were too big and of poor quality. I had to cover the return shipping costs myself, and since then, I’ve been unable to get my refund. Despite several emails asking about the status of my refund, they falsely claimed it had already been processed. I've followed up with them at least 10 times, but I still haven’t received a response.

Edit: After posting this review they responded to my email, acknowledged that I had not been refunded and now I have received the refund. They originally acknowledged my return on the 10th of August and I received the refund (minus postage) on October 18th. I will leave my review but change the title to “difficulty receiving a refund”.

Edit: They are emailing me everyday now to remove this review. I’ve had to block them.
