Platform's donation structure is unfair
I fully support my kids and the school fundraisers, but it’s so frustrating when such a significant portion of donations goes to the fundraising platform instead of the school itself. Folks wanting to help end up but not contributing altogether or sending money via cash, cashapp or venmo too just for me to write a check to the school. I would love to see school systems consider alternate fundraising options that allow more of the money to go directly to the students and programs. A parent shared that the following year texts were being sent to folks to solicit support. Yea I hope we don't use it again. This is crazy!

MoneyDolly operates on the industry average profit splits structure that other competitors utilize as well. This is to cover our own costs of running a fundraising app, web site hosting, automated text messages, not to include overhead of employees and other tech costs. This is standard in the fundraising industry, and a necessity to continue operations.
Supporters are always welcome to donate cash directly or via venmo as you stated - how platforms help with fundraising is the ability to offer products and catalogs, as well as outreach to a wider net of potential supporters, not only geographically restricted to the participants area.
Only if a participant selected supporters or parents from a prior year, intentionally adding them back in themselves, would texts go out to past year supporters. MoneyDolly never selects contacts automatically ourselves - it is always a participant driven opt in for contacts.
I hope some of this helped to clarify for you or others. Thanks again for your feedback!

Donation made simple
It was very easy to follow the instructions for getting the MoneyDolly digital discount card app and accessing the many deals for merchants in my area. So even a great-grandmother can do it as this one did! I can't wait to try all of the various places listed.

Charging $4.50 to pay online with that being the only way to donate is ridiculous!!! Also the constant reminder emails to people who didn’t donate is a bit much, some people can’t afford it.

Hey Leah, thanks for taking the time to leave a review and give feedback.
Like all other fundraising platforms, convenience fees are necessary to cover the costs of processing payments, so they won't be covered by the group themselves.
The automated encouragement texts/emails are only sent out three times total during the course of a fundraising campaign. A participant chose to provide the contact information to those potential supporters. Any supporter that contributes is no longer contacted further.
