Coffee-grind o-rauma! There's no auto shut-off, and the internal arm that dispenses water knocks the coffee filter over - every brewing. Nothing like crunchy coffee in the morning.

3 coffee makers in 5 years
3 coffee makers in 5 years
The last one lasted one week
Really?
Getting worser and worser...
Very cheap
My coffee and Ice tea machine brokw after 2 years. Very dispointed. I took out my Cuisinart, which still works after 20 years.

Mr coffee does not have a automatic shutoff and I didn't know that It stayed on for the whole day thankfully it didn't burn down the house I think that this should be removed from the market
Keurig, Hamilton Beach, take your pods and shove them up where coffee grinds don't shine.
I went through 3 different coffee makers from Oct 24 to April 25. I have reviewed two negatively here. I thought maybe I should give a shout out to the one still working. I have a Mr. Coffee mini brew that may not be fancy, but I get my coffee each and every morning so far and have yet to contact customer service. As for ice coffee, I have a Dutch Brothers within a two-minute drive. Keurig, Hamilton Beach, and the third brand that was dead out of the box and I can't even remember your name at this point, you can take your pods and shove them up where coffee grinds don't shine.
1 Star Company Now
Out of the box light on clock did noyt work. 3rd day of use the Strong Brew quit working. Mr Coffee was one of the best. Now it is one of the worst. Should've purchased the $13 Walmart brand. That lasted 2 years with no problems.
Pot design bad for lefties.
Coffee itself is good.
Pot design is very poor for left-handed people.
It is awkward to fill, pour and clean.
Do not buy this pot if you are left-handed.
Purchased a Mr coffe 5 cup
Purchased a Mr. coffee machine on Amazon did not come with a filter contacted. Mr. coffee could not understand exactly what I had to do to get a filter. This company has the worst customer service of any company I’ve dealt with recently. I’m going to ship the package back to Amazon. I will never buy a mr coffee product again.
We only used the machine 6 times
I have the 12 cup well had the 12 cup coffee maker from Big lots We have used this thing less than 10 times and it already produced an error code. We did the troubleshooting techniques it didn't work. I slammed it down on the ground and it's in the trash. Maybe now the carafe and filter by itself is more useful than the electronic. I want my money back

I purchased my 12 cup coffee maker 4 months ago. It quit working( won't brew). It's still under warranty, but trying to file a claim is very difficult online. Tried 3 times. Why can't I do this via phone call? I am 65 years old and not tech savvy. I'm pissed off, and at this point, have no desire to own another Mr. Coffee.

Coffee pot would turn off in the middle of the brew bought maker 4 months ago have extended warranty
Since Oct 26 been talking to second party warranty co and they keep telling me give them 2 days and I will be able to get a new one
Asked to speak to a supervisor or manager they tell me there is not one to speak to I ask for phone number or extension number for one again no one available
Never buy this brand
Never buy this brand. Last me only 4 months, after that the foam starts going all over the place. I've try to reach the warranty but is only available in US so if you are in canada you're pretty screwed. Even do, I try to reach them I and never got a réponse. They are zero professional.
Would have given a zero if the option…
Would have given a zero if the option was available. I have had at least 4 program ables over the past 5 years. They last about a year and then the lights stop working. Sometimes it will continue to brew but you have to unplug it than plug it back in. I have run vinegar theough it to clean it every month but still they fail. I'm done with them. I have 2 short term rental properties and a camper plus a small efficiency we keep coffee makers in. I currently have 2 that in less than a year has failed. I'm replacing with something else and would urge others to go elsewhere as well. Or just get the simple coffee maker and not the programable. Tired of replacing coffee makers annually.

Both my daughter and I bought pots at the same time from Target Mr. Coffee. After about 6 months mine broke off at the top where closes over the water...unusable. My daughter's broke a month later.

You ask how this company can improve
You ask how this company can improve?
They can stop having their coffee makers manufactured in Red China for a nominal price with low wages and no safety rules for employees.
I ran vinegar through this machine everytime (the 3 times that it displayed) when the "clean" light came on,
Yet two days ago the water ran right through this machine and onto my countertop. The clean light then appeared. Why would I then pour vinegar into this machine only to have to sop this up off of the courntertop?
I feel like our American companies have abandoned us. It's now all about greed and making more frequent sales of their products to the public.
I have now added Mr Coffee to my list of brands to never purchase again. The other brands are: Black & Decker, Proctor-Silex, Sunbeam, Hamilton Beach.
I enjoyed the features of a $50 Mr Coffee Maker for less than one year. Mr Coffee will never get another cent from me as long as they continue to have their coffee makers produced in Red China.
I also stopped buying countertop can-openers at least a decade ago because they had a lifespan of less than a year. Since then, I have been using the same hand-held, manually operated can opener for twelve years now,.
Because of the very short life-span of these electric, countertop appliances being the first offerings of the Red Chinese manufacturing techniques, I returned to the manual approach to opening cans.
I will find a way to avoid products from Red China. II will now research where a product is made before I decide to purchase it. It is such a shame, I cannot trust an American company.
Mr. Coffee 12 cup # BVMC-JWX31
This review is on the Mr. Coffee 12 cup programmable coffee maker with Strong Brew model #BVMC-JWX31.
Mr. Coffee is the undisputed leader and go to coffee maker manufacturer for the under $50.00 crowd for a lot of good reasons. They are stylish and contemporary looking and usually come with the features that most desire. They are also very durable well made units. But because they are manufactured to meet a certain price point there are some areas where they fall short like the inability to brew a decent cup of coffee. The BVMC-JWX31 is no different. But all is not lost. Lets first go over what this brewer does have going for it. It is a 12 cup brewer with a glass carafe. The carafe has a removable flip up lid and is easy to clean. It pours fast and is drip free. The brewer itself has many features. It is programmable to auto brew 24 hours in advance. The clock on this unit is accurate but is not back lit which can make setting the clock somewhat of a challenge. This brewer has an automated clean cycle. It will alert you when it is time to clean and de-scale. There is a custom brew setting either regular or bold. Automatic shutoff is default at 2 hours and can not be changed. The is also a end of brew cycle alarm of three beeps. This can not be shut off.
This brewer is made mainly of plastic with some bright metal trim, the plastic parts that come in contact with water and coffee are BPA free. The filter basket is made for an 8-12 cup flat bottom paper filter. The filter basket also houses the automated shut off valve for the Sneek-a- cup feature. The filter basket will also accommodate the optional Mr. Coffee activated carbon water filter. This brewer is compact and is perfect if count space is limited. Lifting the lid on the top of the coffee maker will expose the filter basket, the shower head and the water reservoir. There is a window on the right side to gauge the amount of water in the reservoir. This brewer does not have a 1-4 cup small batch brew cycle but I think when brewing a small batch if you activate the bold setting I believe you can replicate that setting.
You may be thinking well this seems like a pretty good coffee maker, and you would be right however this brewer and most of the Mr. Coffee line of coffee brewers have a few draw backs that keep them from being really great coffee makers, but all is not lost.
There are two main problems the first is the shower head, the second is the brew temperature. Fix these two areas and you can turn your Mr. Coffee maker into a great brewer. The price point at which these coffee makers are sold at limits the quality of the parts going into them. There just isn't enough left in the budget to put in a decent shower head or water boiler.
There are two simple fixes first on the shower head. It just dumps water in one spot causing channeling. Most of the time all of the coffee grounds are not being touched by water causing both over and under extraction of the coffee grounds. The fix for this is to use the optional carbon water filter. This filter sits on top if the coffee filter basket and will disperse the water more evenly over the coffee grinds. But first you must check to see if it is compatible with the filter basket in your brewer. Look at the bottom of the plastic coffee filter basket, if there is a water droplet embossed in the basket it is compatible with the carbon water filter. To address the second problem is even more simple. This coffee maker as with most Mr. Coffee coffee makers is not capable of getting the water hot enough to extract all of the goodness in you coffee grounds. At best it can manage about 180° Fahrenheit. You need you water temp to be at least 195°. So what you need to do is to give the boiler some help by starting off with hot water. By using 120° hot tap water you can give the boiler the edge it needs to push the brewing water over 190° initially and eventually 195° about four cups into the brewing cycle instead of it fighting to heat cold or room temperature water. Add that to the carbon water filter and you can turn this Mr. Coffee brewer into a pretty good machine.
This coffee maker is available from Amazon and several brick and mortar stores like Best Buy. So who is this coffee maker for? Anyone who is on a serious budget or someone with limited counter space. By doing the simple modification I mentioned you can turn this coffee maker into a respectable coffee machine worthy of your prized coffee beans.
Please read my other reviews and give them a thumbs up
5 cup coffeemaker
Bought the 5 cup coffee maker and it started making loud popping noises while brewing. I exchanged it for the same item and had same problem. I finally just threw it out and bought a different brand, works great
Mr. Coffee- Great Company!
It's difficult to find bad reviews for Mr. Coffee and now I see why. I bought a coffee pot and started using it. The clock was malfunctioning. Running fast. I would program it and it would be two hours ahead by the morning. I reached out to Mr. Coffee and to be honest I wasn't looking for a replacement, I thought I would have to do that at the place I purchase it. Anyway, they were extremely polite and got back with me almost immediately. They gave me some troubleshooting advice but when that failed they sent me a brand new coffee pot. This is a great company. They really appreciate their customers, to be frank, they just care. I will not buy any other brand of coffee maker. They have earned my business and loyalty.

I've had espresso and cappuccino maker for 5 months now and it is the worst espresso maker I have ever purchased. The espresso does not pull a nice crema shot, and now the milk frother is not working. Every use is a fight for luke warm cup of horrible coffee.
