Breakfast Bakes.
Bought two packs, Blackurrant and Honey & Nut and they were not what I expected. Tasteless, dry and sticking like putty to the roof of my mouth. Awful.

I purchased a box of lemon veinnesse whirls at the weekend. I hadnt eaten one for at least twenty years, but could remember the lovely buttery meltiness!
I dont think you could get them in lemon back then - it was jam in the middle with a creamy swirl of loveliness...
I dont as a rule leave feedback/ reviews ( too lazy! 😁)
But I thought I would on this occasion. The reason being that nearly everything I used to enjoy, once revisited is generally a disappointment. Smaller, inferior ingredients, recipe alteration etc. Well hold on to your hat, these veinnesse whirls are every bit as nice as I remembered! What a refreshing change. Well done Mr Kipling for not messing with perfection!
The lemon ones are as delicious as the jam ones

Always considered these as a treat but now they are taking the Micky ,
They are only putting 5 cakes in the packet instead of 6, that’s not shrinkation that’s taking the public for idiots.

This year [2025] I am celebrating 50 years as a Vegetarian. Mr Kipling cakes used to be off limits to me as their products were not vegetarian. Nowadays it looks as if a lot of their products are vegetarian. But not all. This is a pity as I feel that there are alternative ingredients to such things as cochineal/carmine and Gelatin. So I still have to search ingredients on the packet to ensure they are really vegetarian which is a bind - and really means I tend to use brands I know are fully vegetarian.e.g. French Fancies I was offered to day are not veggie so I had to refuse.
