Specifically ordered a certain type of brake. They said yes, we'll deliver that one. Confirmed over the phone and another message. Then the wrong item was delivered. Customer service was dismissive and rude. Minimal help. Had to return the entire order as I didn't want to deal with an amateurish company supplying brakes. Wasted time and money trying to return it due to their errors.

I had ordered a set of front and rear brake pads, both of which arrived promptly but when installing i had came to realise that the rear set i had Bought were the incorrect fitment for the car. As my 14 day return time had ran out i got into contact with MTEC brakes and was promptly responded to by a customer service representative called clare, after a bit of back and forth i was able to get a replacement sorted out and had the correct brakes sent out to me a couple days later. I wouldn't usually write a review for a company but due to the impeccable customer service, speed of response and overall experience with this company i felt that a review was necessary.

Great support, fast shipping, good prices for the quality. In my case the return of some wrongly ordered discs was not convenient due to the expensive shipping from italy but the service and the customer service was absolutely wonderful even giving me the link to purchase the right parts for my car i could not find. Edit this review.... ok so let review yesterday but gonna change it as wow when my window is open all you can hear is like a poping sound coming from the brake disc from all over front and rear as i have dimpled and grooved its drving me mad now i dont rate these dimpled ones at all think im gonna stick to plain discs as dont get no noise with them at all so dunno why these mtec discs are doing That .... when gove over about 20 25 mph thats all you hear poping as the pads go over the disc so gonna leave a bad review for this

Quick delivery friendly customer service

Purchased a set of front and rear brake discs and pads for a 1999 Mercedes E320 W210 through their eBay store. When my garage attempted installation they confirmed the rear discs and pads supplied were incorrect for the vehicle. The inner diameter of the rear discs was wrong for the handbrake shoes and the pads supplied were also a different design.

I raised this with MTEC in December and they confirmed they would accept the return and issue a refund. The return was slightly delayed due to ill health, but the incorrect rear parts were returned in early March and delivery to them has been confirmed.

However, after receiving the returned items they refused to issue the refund and instead attempted to blame light surface rust on the discs. These are bare steel brake discs and surface rust is normal when stored in a garage environment. The brake pads returned with them are also clearly incorrect for the vehicle and obviously cannot have any issue relating to rust.

Despite receiving the returned discs and pads, MTEC are refusing to refund the purchase.

A PayPal dispute has now been opened.

Very disappointing experience and not how a company should treat a customer when they have supplied incorrect parts.

REPLY TO YOUR RESPONSE:

You are correct that the order was placed in September. However, you agreed in eBay messages to accept the return and issue a refund once it was confirmed the rear discs and pads supplied were incorrect for a 1999 Mercedes E320 W210 and did not match the listing. This agreement was made in December prior to the return.

The return was made based on that agreement. The parts were returned, delivery was confirmed, and you acknowledged receiving them.

At that point, the position is straightforward. You had accepted the return and received the goods, so a refund should have been issued.

The reference to “not resalable condition” relates to light surface rust on bare steel brake discs, which is normal when stored and does not change the fact that the parts supplied were incorrect. The pads, which were also incorrect, are unaffected by this point.

The current situation is that you have both the returned goods and my payment.

Entirely my fault I ordered the wrong discs, thinking it was game over & I would have to reorder & return- I reached out to mtec via email late evening in hope I might be able to intercept before the order was packed. Elle replied to me first thing in the morning, confirmed they’d swapped for the right discs & promptly amended the payment to reflect this.
Faultless service - having already got a set of mtec on my car, I can safely say faultless products too.
