NO support whatsoever for cyclone affected people! I requested a 4 week payment hold due to not having my job to go to. Yes, got the hold, but would be charged penalty interest. Can I pay interest only? NO. Then after only 2 weeks on hold, got an email saying the 4 weeks was up and when was I going to pay the arrears? I was told an incorrect amount (more than what had been missed) was owing. When I questioned this, it was, oh sorry, thats what head office said. Only 3 payments were put on hold. We were paying a higher weekly amount by choice, which meant we were in credit, but they wanted the payments made at the higher amount!!! Not impressed at all. Don't expect any leniency in the face of a national disaster!
UPDATE: MTF GOT BACK TO ME WITH SINCERE APOLOGIES FOR MY EXPERIENCE. THEY OFFERED PAYMENT HELP, AND A REVIEW OF HOW THEY DEAL WITH CONTRACTS AFFECTED BY A NATURAL DISASTER GOING FORWARD. MORE THAN PLEASED WITH THE OUTCOME!! THANK YOU MTF FOR LISTENING!
