Best Barcelona Experience

We stayed at the apartment in Eixample in early May. Our entire experience from interacting with our host to the actual apartment was wonderful. We unexpectedly were able to arrive at the apartment earlier than check-in and earlier than we thought, and the property manager graciously met us early to go through everything. The apartment was in such a beautiful neighborhood, and we enjoyed all the local restaurants and stores. It was convenient to everything, and we easily walked to see the sights. The apartment was well furnished and had a great layout. Exceeded our expectations! Stay here for a fabulous Barcelona experience.

Be very careful with the extra charges and the check-in process here.

Our biggest issue was not the apartment itself. It was how the host handled communication, extra fees, and arrival. Before the stay, we were suddenly asked to pay an additional €80 “holiday check-in fee” plus tourist tax through a payment request right before arrival. The holiday fee had not been clearly and openly explained to us in any practical way beforehand. It was buried inside a long block of listing text, without being clearly highlighted before the free cancellation period ended. As foreign travelers, how were we supposed to know a local holiday surcharge would apply if the host never clearly explained it?

We asked a very normal clarification question about these charges, especially because the listing said the tourist tax was charged per person, per night, and one guest was not staying all nights. This was a simple and valid question. There were not endless messages from our side. There was essentially one clarification request about the charges and one follow-up about the check-in process. That was all.

What made this even more frustrating was that the host had our information and arrival details already, but still did not clearly flag these costs in a direct way before arrival. The payment request initially did not even come with a proper breakdown. For travelers already dealing with flights, time differences, and a wedding schedule, this kind of last-minute surprise is extremely inconvenient and stressful.

Check-in was also unnecessarily difficult. The host insisted on doing it in person, but then arrived late, so we had to wait even after check-in time had already started. We did not complain and simply waited. Once the host arrived, the explanation took about 30 minutes and went through far more detail than necessary while part of our group was trying to unpack and get ready for dinner. It made the entire arrival feel rigid and inconvenient.

The most unreasonable part is that after all of this, the host left us a nasty review, even though our only real issue was asking for clarification about significant extra charges that had not been clearly disclosed in a straightforward way. Asking about an €80 fee and a tax calculation is not bad behavior. It is basic common sense.

If you book here, read every line extremely carefully and be prepared for extra costs and a very inflexible communication style. For international travelers especially, this was far more stressful than it needed to be.

Thank you for your feedback. We always welcome honest reviews, and we feel it is important to share an accurate account of events.

This reservation was made over 40 days in advance via the Airbnb platform as an instant booking, which constitutes full acceptance of all listing terms at the time of confirmation, for 6 guests over 3 nights, checking in on May 1st, a public holiday. All applicable charges, including the public holiday check-in fee and tourist tax, were clearly stated in our listing at the time of booking. During those 40 days, our team sent multiple messages to the guest, none of which received a reply, and no questions were raised about fees, charges, or the check-in process. Concerns were only communicated three days before arrival, outside the cancellation window, and included a request for a free cancellation, which in itself indicates the listing terms had not been reviewed beforehand.

We responded promptly, explained every charge clearly, and provided supporting documentation. Our team also checked in with the group on two separate occasions during the stay. At no point were any concerns raised in person or via messaging.
The check-in process is conducted in person and as required by Catalan tourism law, mandatory guest registration and ID verification was completed, a legal obligation we take seriously on behalf of all our guests.

We are proud to consistently receive 5-star reviews from guests who enjoy our home near Sagrada Família, Barcelona. We remain committed to full transparency and are always happy to answer any questions before arrival. We look forward to welcoming many more guests to Barcelona.

Barcelona Gotico Charm

We have amazing experiences and wonderful memories about our stay in Barcelona! The place is located in a busy, crowded downtown area, and it was still quiet at night. Great place for active family like us. About 30 minutes walking distance to the beach and very convenient when you stay for a little and get to know your way around the neighborhoods. We love it!

Hidden Gem

This was a perfect home for the wife and I to spend our long weekend in Barcelona. The hosts were simply amazing from the outset, providing answers to all our questions and more within less than an hour of our contact – even when faced with my plaffer of silly questions.
A multitude of different restaurant recommendations and places to visit was provided by the hosts prior to our arrival, allowing us to plan out stay. This included discounted transfer arrangements which turned out to be a perfect addition when the weather is 30c plus outside.

Upon arrival, we were pleasantly greeted by the hosts support who took great pride with showing us around the property and how everything worked. This included welcome bubbly, coffee and water.
Two keys provided to the property (never to be underestimate the faff of just one key) which allowed for our ease of comings and goings.

The property itself is ideally located surrounded by designer clothes and upmarket restaurants. All popular spots being no more than a hop, skip and jump away and can even be seen from the roof. Supermarket across the road and other great places to grab a late breakfast within meters of the apartment.

The apartment is located on the top floor of the building which provides it with an incredibly generous rooftop garden (over two levels). This allows for amazing views of the city as well as plenty of resting spots to either eat, read or bath in the sun. Seating outside is everywhere allowing you to either follow or remain out of the sun no matter time of day.
The outdoor shower is an excellent plus which allows for invigorating experience.

The one bed apartment is high spec and well equipped. Air conditioning is fast and incredibility effective. Even with the kettle you can select the finish water temp (for those true coffee connoisseur). Cooker and dishwasher are all high spec, fast and easy to use.

Although the apartment is located on the top floor, the building benefits from lift which takes you right to the same floor.
The (double) bed was comfortable with plenty of bedding provided.

Shower bathroom is just off the bedroom, glass surround diving this space from the main living area. This allowed for plenty of light throughout the property. The shower was always hot and powerful with a large rain style head.

All in all we have say we really enjoyed out stay at Barcelona and would not hesitate to book with Vicky & Agus again.
We very much look forward to our return. We would highly recommend this property to any couples looking to be surrounded by pure delight.

Disappointing experience with MyRentalHost

I stayed in a MyRentalHost managed apartment in Barcelona in April 2023. Here is my experience:

Check-in: the host agreed to meet us at the property at 11:30am to drop our bags off ahead of check-in time. The night before we were supposed to arrive, we messaged the lady that was going to meet us (Paula) to double confirm the arrangement. This was a good start, however when we showed up at the property the next morning, Paula was no where to be seen. We stood outside in the street under the scorching sun for almost an hour before she arrived - her excuse: 'traffic'.

The apartment: the apartment itself was decent enough in places, but there were serious shortcomings: the bath"room" was more of a bath"cupboard", barely suitable for small children, let alone grown adults. It isn't possible to dry yourself without having one foot out in the corridor. The shower drain cover would block the water from escaping - which when we reported it to MyRentalHost, they sent someone over to investigate. They just wedged the drain cover out of the way and condescendingly advised us that we were in the wrong for not doing this ourselves. Previous reviews of the apartment make reference to the 'blocked shower drain' so presumably this is a recurring issue.
We wanted to use the washing machine, however when we went to open this, it was jammed shut. We notified MyRentalHost about this, but they didn't have a solution. We were then later accused by MyRentalHost of having been the ones that jammed the washing machine.. which is not possible since we didn't even manage to get it open to put our clothes in in the first place..

Noise: the walls were paper thin, which isn't ideal when the flat next door was having parties through the night. Trying to sleep was impossible with the screaming and whooping coming from next door. We contacted MyRentalHost about this and they told us they would speak to the other apartment. 2 hours later (at 3am), the noise finally subsided - whether this was because MyRentalHost spoke to them or because the party was over - I don't know.

Amenities: there are none. There was a very cheap bottle of shower gel in the shower room (presumably left from a previous guest) and that's it. When we asked MyRentalHost if certain other amenities were available, we were advised that there's a supermarket next door..

Other issues: MyRentalHost sent us a barrage of incessant offers of tours and packages, trying to upsell everything as much as they possibly could. Based on the experience we'd had with them, we wisely chose to ignore these offers and book quality experiences with reputable vendors.

All in all, I would strongly advise against staying in a MyRentalHost managed property - there are many better apartments and hosts to stay with in Barcelona.

Tuve un problema que me cancelaron una…

Tuve un problema que me cancelaron una reserva en otro lugar y estaba desesperada y me tope con la gente de MyRentalHost y la verdad que fue lo mejor de mi viaje. Además de solucionarme las cosas muy rápido (en menos de una hora ya estaba en el nuevo piso)
Todo fue perfecto, desde la rapidez hasta la calidad de la gente del equipo. Me aloje en un apartamento muy mono cerca del hospital Sant Pau. El apartamento estaba impecable, con una buena conexión a internet y habitaciones espaciosas y equipado con todo lo que necesitaba. El check in fue súper sencillo y la comunicación con la gente del equipo es uno de los puntos mas fuertes que tienen. Básicamente, por WhatsApp hacia una pregunta y me respondían al momento, y en cualquier día y horario, algo muy grato y sorprenderte porque te hace sentir que siempre hay alguien del otro lado por cualquier cosa que precises.
A toda la gente, si necesitas alquilar un apartamento no lo dudes, los chicos de MyRentalHost saben lo que hacen y te hacen sentir bienvenido y cuidan de todos los detalles para que tu viaje sea inolvidable.

house in Canet de Mar

We rented a house in Canet de Mar and it was splendid! You have everything you may need in a spacious house where we have felt like at home. Perfect for children with games and toys and even beach supplies. The house is just near the beach (5 minutes walk) and there are some stores, a bakery and restaurants very near by the house. It was also very very clean, something important nowdays with the coronavirus.
Agus, our contact, was very friendly, reponsive and helpful. If we stay around in Barcelona we will book definitely again on MyrentalHost.

Romance of the Barcelona

I was recommended My Rental Host by a friend who was raving about them, and I have to say my experience certainly lived up to the hype. I treated my fiancee to a surprise little getaway to Barcelona and thought I'd splash out on a boutique apartment, I saved quite a bit on the flights but didn't tell her that ; ). The accommodation was amazing and just what we wanted for the 4 days there. The hosts went above and beyond to suggest some amazing places to eat, getting us a reservation at a place we really wanted to try, after I had failed! And I think we got around to almost all of their tips for the city. We had amazing time and certainly felt the romance of the Barcelona.

We rented a sassy apartment in central…

We rented a sassy apartment in central Barcelona through MyRentalHost for a long weekend trip. The apartment was fantastic and they went above and beyond providing recommendations for a very cool brunch place, restaurants and helping us with moped hire. Would recommend to fellow travelers and those wanting the inside scoop on where to go in Barcelona. Great service.

Super contenta con el servicio

Muy contenta con la gente de MyRentalHost por la gestión de mi apartamento en Barcelona. Lo que más me gusta es la velocidad de reacción a resolver problemas. Y lo más impórtante es la transparencia en la información sobe las reservas y las finanzas que hay en la intranet que tiene. Otro punto a destacar es como gestionaron los problemas con los vecinos. Ya que antes tenía muchos problemas y ahora no tengo ningún problema.
La verdad una empresa súper recomendable. Felicitaciones chicos.
