Professional Home Fitting
Nextbase now offers a professional fitting service conducted by our partner and their trained engineers. This standalone service is for customers that have already purchased a Nextbase Dash Cam. Fitting can be at a place of your choosing, including your home or workplace (within UK mainland), to offer the ultimate convenience. The team of trained fitters can hardwire your Nextbase dash cam into a range of vehicles including cars, lorries, trucks, and vans. They will mount dash cam to your windscreen, ensuring it gets the optimum viewing angle, and connect it your fuse box meaning no wires are on show. The skilled engineers can hardwire in any of the current dash cam range, including rear camera modules when purchased direct from our site. Sold out

How it works? The Professional Home Fitting includes the Nextbase Hardwire Kit (RRP £25) in the cost of purchase. This will be delivered to you prior to the installation with the team. The RS Connect team of fitters will be in touch via text message shortly after the order is placed to arrange a suitable date and time for installation. Our partners, RS Connect also offer a home fitting service when ordering a Dash Cam via our website. This 'standalone' service is primarily for those that have already purchased a Dash Cam and would like it professionally installed.
Disclaimer The fitters will only fit brand new Nextbase Dash Cams purchased either directly via the Nextbase website, or via an approved retailer. Please be aware that spare adhesive mounting pads are provided inside the box in case of any change of vehicle or failure. We are happy to offer a replacement adhesive plate in accordance with our 12-month warranty policy should it be needed. The RS Connect installation service does not cover revisits for the purpose of reapplying a new adhesive to your windscreen. Home fitting appointment times vary, but normally fall within 1-2 weeks. During the busy seasons (Black Friday and Christmas) these times will be affected. (No Rear Window Camera Cable supplied) Installation Questions + Why should I get my Dash Cam professionally fitted? It gives you a neat and tidy connection in your vehicle as no wires are on sight. Recommended for use with the Intelligent Parking Mode feature on all models, particularly when using a Rear Camera model too. The hardwire kit ensures you always stay connected and you never need to worry about knocking the cigarette lighter socket out of place. It frees up your 12V power supply to use with other devices – e.g. charging your phone.

Very pleased with the home fitting, the installer even updated the time and date on my 522 dashcam in my other car. I couldnt fault him at all. We were kept informed of the time and date that the installer would arrive.

I know I could've fitted the cam myself, wiring it in as recommended, but if something goes wrong - I'm not the only person that would've given myself grief for it. I therefore decided to pay for someone more qualified to do it. After one cancellation (RS Connect, not me) and many offers of other appointments Faraz came to fit this morning. He explained everything really well, did a perfect job and left me very pleased that I paid to have it fitted. It took him about an hour to do, no cables are visible, I had the option of fitting in "Always On" or "Ignition based" - I chose Always On for the Parking Mode. All in all, very impressed and would recommend the fitting service to anyone buying a dashcam!

This is a really difficult review to write however having tried to raise this concern with Nextbase on 2 occasions I feel I need to be honest about the professional home fitting service which is supplied by a 3rd party. The Nextbase product is excellent and in truth I have no issues with neatness of the installation. However the installer felt it was appropriate to move my car a reasonable distance off my drive to turn it round with the new dashcam still on the roof! I had CCTV evidence which I provided to Nextbase Given the dashcam cost £319 I still dont think this was an acceptable action although no damage was done. Also as I paid £119 for the professional installation service I would have expected a reasonable level of handover - rather than a few mumbled words about doing something to the memory on a regualr basis. This info was conveyed at distance as the installer was once again smoking. In response Nextbase offered me initially a cup holder as an apology, this didnt feel like they had taken my feedback seriously so I asked for my complaint to be escalated and then on review nothing other than an acknowledgement that they review their processes. In summary I am happy with the product and the overall installation but I did expect more care and attention and a proper handover. The whole idea of paying for an installation service was for a quick handover of any action I needed to take. I still havent had chance to check what the fortnightly process is...

The technician did an excellent job installing both the front and rear cameras, which saved me a lot of time and effort. He also set up the cameras for me. The only issue was that while he managed to connect the phone, he couldn't get it to display photos, and after several attempts, he had to stop trying.

Since the dashcam was fitted I’ve had poor radio reception so the engineer has done something during the fitting process to cause this. I’ve called the installer Ans they said “this is a common problem” so you would have thought they’d have a fix for it?

Infuriating to try and deal with. Absolutely no contact from the installers until the day before. I emailed NextBase to try and check the status and got no reply. The booking portal constantly has a server error so you can’t even view it there. The installer arrived as planned but when I showed him everything NextBase sent he said the hardwire kit was missing so he couldn’t do anything. I’ve emailed NextBaae several times since, and after two weeks I haven’t had any response. I realise it’s the festive season but surely they can put an “out of office” on. I’m going to have to do a partial chargeback now and arrange my own fitter. Really would not recommend this at all.
