After more than 30 applications to Noir’s .NET roles and complete silence, even where LinkedIn showed me as a top match, I stopped asking about jobs and asked about my data instead. This review is about how that went.

On 30 September I sent a subject access request under UK GDPR to the Data Protection Officer listed on Noir’s ICO registration, with their general hello@ inbox in copy. I asked what personal data they hold on me and who they have shared it with, since their own privacy policy says candidate data goes to third parties. The law gives a company one month to answer.

While waiting, I looked up the person named as DPO on the ICO register. According to his LinkedIn profile he left Noir in March 2025, so the contact details Noir keeps on the public register are apparently out of date. On 21 October I emailed the company’s director directly, again with hello@ in copy, forwarded the request, pointed out the DPO issue and asked for a reply by the deadline. Silence.

The deadline was 30 October. It passed without a word from any of the three addresses. No acknowledgement, and no request for ID, which they could have used to pause the clock. Nothing bounced either, so the emails arrived somewhere.

I don’t know what Noir does with the CVs it collects, and after a month of asking the people legally required to tell me, I still don’t. The complaint has now gone to the ICO. If you have sent Noir your CV and want to know where it went, a subject access request costs nothing to send, and the ICO complaint form is free too.

I can only assume the jobs they advertise are fake. I've never had a response from them, not even a thankyou for your application. They flood Linkedin and Indeed with crap, so you can't avoid them, and in this downturn in the job market actually quite scummy.
