I will order again

I have placed several orders with Nordic Expat and I have not been disappointed. It’s easy to monitor how the delivery costs will change as you add items to your order.
It’s packaged well. It arrives quickly. I also accidentally entered the wrong zip code and I was promptly contacted and we sorted out the mistake.
They have a wide selection of items. Food and non-food items.
This store is absolutely a lifesaver for all of us Danes living far away.

Replies to email would be nice!!…

I am all through very impressed with everything I have ever ordered, the delivery time and drop off is just perfect.

Except for one order out of all my orders, I had ordered Danish lagkage bunde. The were hard and stale and were 3 months passed expiration date. I send an email but no one took the time to reply back to me. I am disappointed since I have spend a lot of money ordering from you.

A lifesaver for expats missing home

Nordic Expat Shop has been an absolute lifesaver for me as an expat in Turkey missing Danish food! Their selection is excellent, and it’s clear that the owners genuinely care about their customers. They respond quickly to any questions and always provide top-notch service. I’ve placed many orders with them, and every experience has been smooth and hassle-free. It’s such a relief to have access to familiar products when living abroad. Highly recommended!

Just placed an order

Just placed an order, i cannot see my 10% discount. I tried to send them an email, it doesn't go through. Lets see what arrives.
I also cancelled one item, now it is in the list again. Pretty weird. I probably won't order here again. There are others who offer similar services.

As mentioned in the automated discount email, the discount code it needs a little help to make it to checkout—just a quick manual entry on your end to unlock those savings.

About the emails you tried to send—strangely, we haven’t received any at all, not either in our “noreply” inbox. It seems the contact form you used was the only one that came through to us, so thanks for using that.

It sounds like an item you removed ended up sneaking back into your cart before checkout. Our system does provide a final summary to review everything before finalising an order, but if something slipped through, we’d be happy to help.

Regarding your review, we understand that waiting can be frustrating, and we always appreciate feedback. That said, we do feel it may have been a bit premature. Just as a gentle reminder, our site specifies that customer service responses can take up to 3 business days, with availability Monday to Friday. Since your order was placed on Friday, November 1st, and your message came through on Saturday, November 2nd—outside our office hours—our team, like most in Denmark, is off on weekends. Rest assured, we’re responding to all customer inquiries as quickly as possible within the timeframe provided on our site.

wrong item shipped, but not made right

I ordered 16 boxes of Bornholm Rye Crackers. I paid $60 to have them shipped to me. When they arrived they were not the flavor I ordered (cumin). I was instead sent carraway fkavored crackers. I hate carraway. When I contacted the Nordic Expat Shop they said that their website description had indeed been wrong. Their solution was that i could pay another $60 to send them back. They apologized, know it was their error, and as a business are doing nothing to rectify the problem except updating their website. I will never order anything from them. I expect that I can trust a website description and if it's wrong that a company, at their own expense, will make it right. I'm appalled. Their response is calling listing the wrong flavor (cumin) a minor text error. That is like saying if something is described as chocolate and you receive vanilla it's a minor thing. Ridiculous. Then they expect that I would read the product ingredient list to know that the listing was wrong. I do not have allergies. I had no reason to read the product ingredient list. It's disturbing to me that this company in no way has looked at this from my perspective and seems to only be defending themselves.

Trustworthy & Reliable Source for Danish Goods

This is our "go to" provider for Danish baking goods, candys, coffee, etc. This team is very responsive and fast. We always use DHL and the items have, sometimes, arrived in as few as 5 days. Very friendly team - if something is not available, I will get a hand written note apologizing and, sometimes, a substitute. We order from this team once every 4-6 weeks. They are trustworthy and responsive. Always a great experience!

The parcel I was sent was damaged

The parcel I was sent was damaged, the delivery company is still investigating .... The Nordic Expat shop replied to my mail almost immediately, trying to solve my problem, not making excuses, but looking for a solution. I am very pleased with their attitude,all online shops should work like this. I can only recommend them to everyone, the goods ordered from them are not only handled up to the moment of dispatch.

I live in the UK

I live in the UK, and order from this company, every month. It puts a big grin on my face when I get the packet from "home" They never fail once, if something is not in stock they replace it with a similar, one without charging me more money. And add a note, telling me so. They always pack the product carefully even my flødeboller, made it without being crushed. :D Thank you

Fantastik service!

Jeg er en trofast kunde som har nydt godt over mange år med ikke kun det store udvalg af danske produkter men også den gode kundeservice fra Nordic.
Denne gang gik ikke helt som det plejer grundet australsk told mishandling af min pakke men team Nordic gjorde alt hvad de kunne og endda mere end behjælpelig for at løse problemerne for mig.
Enestående og over alle forventninger fantastisk kundeservice fra Nordic.
Super imponeret og har allerede anbefalet Nordic til alle ligesom jeg bor i udlandet.
Tusind tak til team Nordic.

Produktangivelser ikke korrekte

Opdatering. Kundeservice svarede og lavede rettelser. Ændre bedømmelse til 4 stjerner for god kundeservice. Er stadig ikke helt enig i hvordan Nordic Expat laver deres vægtberegninger.

Produktangivelser ikke korrekte. Schulstad's Restaurant Gilleleje blev angivet som 0,95 KG, men der blev sendt 0,75 KG pakker.

Det samme gælder shippingvægt, der også bliver angivet ukorrekt. Dette gør at forsendelserne bliver mere dyre en de behøver. For eksempel, skal man betale Nordic Expat Shop for 1 KG vægt per 0,75 KG Gilleleje rugbrød, der bliver bestilt. Køber man derimod Skovmand rugbrød på 0,5 KG betaler man kun for 0,55 KG vægt.

Jeg kunne blive ved med disse "tastefejl" som Nordic Expat shop kalder dem. Jeg kalder det snyd og falsk markedsføring, og jeg er sikker på at mange ikke opdager, at de bliver snydt.

I’m so glad I found this website

I’m so glad I found this website! My husband is Danish so he’ll be ordering all kinds no doubt.
I put an order in which came yesterday but I’ve been receiving emails from Fed ex (who delivered it) stating I owe £8.07 for delivery duties as it came from overseas. I assumed it was a hoax but now I’m worried if I ignore it, I’ll get into legal trouble. Has everyone had to pay this fee?

Uden penge, uden vare og uden hjælp.

Super dårlig service. Man kan kun få sendt med DHL - jeg ved ikke om de har udfyldt export papirerne forkert eller hvad - for lige pludselig kan man ikke modtage sin pakke fordi man skal være importør for at modtage fra dem: aldrig sket ved andre pakker eller andre firmaer; men Nordic expat shop nægter at hjælpe, jeg har spildt 700kr og de tilbyder mig 75 tilbage. Her står jeg, uden mine ting, uden mine penge og uden deres hjælp.
Normaltvis skal man blot betale told og skat men når man handler her skal man registreres som professionel importør ved regeringen for at modtage dansk vingummi.

Edit: I advarede aldrig om at jeg skulle statsregisteres som importør - ved ekstra forbehold, troede jeg, som det altid plejer at være - som det normaltvist er når man bestiller online. Jeg fik sendt en pakke fra Danmark 2 uger senere, og det var uden problemer.

Beklager jeg huskede beløbet forkert - men det er vidst også ligegyldigt. Princippet er at jeg har brugt alt for mange penge, som jeg kan få alt for lidt tilbage af for noget jeg, som privatperson ikke kan opfylde.

Det er ikke korrekt at sige jeres hjælp har været "ekstraordinær", for i har vitterligt INTET hjulpet med. I nævnte de nok ville tage pakken - ok, så går man ud fra det er told og moms. IKKE at jeg som PRIVATPERSON skal registreres som importør. Det har i ALDRIG nævnt. I har blot nævnt der måske skal ekstra handlinger til - så går man udfra told som det normaltvis er.

Desværre, da forsendelsen blev udtaget til ekstraordinært toldkontrol, undlod du enten eller ønskede ikke at udlevere den påkrævede information til den Mexicanske told.

I have lived in USA more than 50 years…

I have lived in USA more than 50 years without rugbrod.
I found out about your products recently and have ordered twice already.
Both orders came promptly. Everything was in good condition. Last order had 4 large bottles of remoulade with expiration date of November 23.
Needless to say we will not use most of these containers with such a close date. We received the order in October. I hope when we order again the dates on the product will give me more time. Or do you think the product is safe after the date. It’s in the refrigerator.
I’m looking forward to future orders. My husband (not a Dane) loves the chocolate milk and turtles.

Great Danish food and Danish products!

Wonderful that someone in Denmark realized what a need there is for Danish products and food worldwide!
I have purchased from them several times and their delivery is prompt, food and merchandise is well packed (for many reasons) and they have great service.
Highly recommend them and will continue to use them!!

Went the extra mile for me

I have found Nordic Expat a couple of years ago. And every order have come through perfectly and even arrived faster than expected with DHL.
So then i needed some products, that they didn't sell, but i could get it from another vendor. This vendor do not deliver to USA, so I asked Nordic Expat if they could help.
Casper replied to me with a solution.
That I bought it from the other vendor, and got it shipped to Nordic Expat. They would then measure and it and gave me a price for shipping, that i paid online.
And this package also came before time with DHL.
Thank you Nordic Expat and Casper. I have been and will continue to tell other people about your good service.
