That is all I have been using as a replacement for built-in Win10 and 11 notepad and now I won't look back at anything else.

Even simple functions e.g. clickable hyperlinks windows notepad can't do it or moving lines (indenting), there is so many small functions that now I can't work without.
Notepad++ is amazing text editor for average user, but also great for coders.

Great tool for the non-dev like I am, who has to occasionally touch code.

However, with the update process, please don't reduce all windows at once when it's finished. I got a mini panic attack because of it!

IT WAS AND EVEN NOW IS A USEFUL SOFTWARE TO ME BUT STILL I WILL GIVE IT ONE STAR! THIS IS BECAUSE THEY WASTE THE PRECIOUS RESOURCE OF TIME. JUST FOR FINDING OUT HOW TO CHANGE THE BACKGROUND COLOR AND THE FONT COLOR TOOK ME MORE THAN TWO HOURS.

THIS IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE. HAD TO SEARCH AND SEARCH THROUGH GOOGLE. I COULDN'T FIND HOW TO DO IT FROM THEIR USER MANUAL EVEN AFTER TYPING AND SEARCHING MY QUERY.

ONE MORE CRAZY THING ABOUT THIS SOFTWARE. THE CREATORS USED TO CONVEY THEIR IRRELEVANT POLITICAL OPINION THROUGH THIS SOFTWARE

Ich finde, dass es ein gutes Programm ist und einiges kann, was nützlich ist, z. B. in vielen Dateien nach etwas zu suchen oder auch z. B. in einer Datei nach etwas suchen, um es dann zu ändern, also a durch b ersetzen z. B.

Lightweight, free, useful for coding/programming or just sorting data in general. Multiple options and regularly updated. Can't fault.

Except for being a powerful editor for source code in several programming languages, notepad++ also has other functions two of which I often use:
- comparing files; notepad++ can open and compare files with many formats, including binary files
- looking for text strings in files in a directory tree; I am not aware of any other tool having this ability

Ho usato il software per molti progetti e devo dire che mi sono trovato BENISSIMO. Infatti ho trovato NotePad++ molto semplice da utilizzare per la programmazione di siti internet. 👍🏼

I wanted a very lightweight text editor for taking quick notes and maybe edit code and note pad was just too simple.
this is great! I love the ability to record macros and the UI exposes many useful features so it is very easy to pick up. it's also very low on ram usage like note pad but has more features. it's not as complex as many of the other editors so it is easy to get started.. also the dark mode is amazing.

I generally use EditPlus which is not free but has a lot of great features, but after finding Notepad++ I sometimes use it as well now, and even more so on other computers as it requires no license to install which is very useful even more so if you have more then one computer & do not want to have to pay per computer/install.

I like the color coding that you get when editing things like php, html, and so on. Its one of the reasons I got into EditPlus so much. It helps you quickly find your errors of mistakes in code which can save a lot of time & headaches.

I like the fact I do not have to save the document meaning I can write something on a tab & close the program & its still there when I come back unless I close or save it. Very nice feature which I have never seen in the programs I am use to using.

I like that it offers word wrap too which I like most as I do not care for the long lines of code or text that go off my screen.

I noticed that it has a lot of options when it comes to add-ons which you can find under Plugins, Plugins Admin, and install what you want from there which is nice instead of having to surf the web for them. I do not like their spell check plugin though as its confusing on how to use it though it says how to use, but offers no useful information. I think its something that should be built in or offered on their site like you get with EditPlus.

As for wither or not I recommend this app? Yes, its useful!

I had the settings checked for backups. I had several files that were open in the editor and hadn't changed for days. I had an inadvertant shut down, and when I got the app back up, all the files were corrupted. Apparently this has been going on for years, when I checked out the user forum on the internet. The app writers can change it/fix it, but won't.

One of the best document editors I've seen. I LOVE how they added a feature where you can head to a specific line in your document. It's easy and usable. It's also free. Just open a file, and you have some free, easy tools to use for your text!

Use this everyday and certainly saves me lots of time. Good app and overall experience. Would recommend.

Very useful free coding program. Have been using it many years now.

The simplicity of it is both it's pro and con, depending on the user.

If you want a simple and fast software that gets the job done without too many shenanigans? Notepad++ is for you.
