In our quest for toxin free sleep we found Obasan In Ottawa and took a tour of their factory and store in 2013. Super impressed, we ordered a bed right away and still have that same bed today, in 2019, with no sign of it loosing the amazing comfort and support we experienced on our first night. In fact, we love Obasan’s product line so much, we bought three more beds, in addition to foundations, linens, pillows, toppers, and duvets for our B&B and all of our guests rave about the amazing sleep they have. Quite a few have also purchased Obasan beds for personal use after their stay with us. Darlie and the gang at Obasan Ottawa have A1 customer service dedication and I will never buy a different brand again. Thank you Obasan!

We love the customization of Obasan’s mattresses. Our experience with Obasan was exceptional. John was very friendly and knowledgeable, and he was always available to answer any questions that we had. We purchased our first Obasan bed six years ago and was very happy with our purchase. The delivery staff were very nice and helpful. Now we have 3 Obasan beds and everyone in the family has their own Obasan pillow. We all get quality sleep. Thanks to Obasan!!

The product quality is amazing. I have honestly never been so happy with a mattress in my life. Every night I can't wait to jump into bed. I also love the pillows. And the customer service is unmatched. Absolutely worth every penny.

Over the last several years, I have had excellent experiences purchasing and enjoying Obasan products. I first bought their 'puddle pad' for my child's bed, and then eventually three mattresses, wool mattress protectors, and shredded rubber pillows. Everything is really high quality, and has proven itself to be durable. Darlie John has consistently offered superb service: he is very friendly and knowledgeable about these products. I found Obasan when researching mattresses for my daughter’s big girl bed. It was incredibly important to me to have a mattress that was free of any toxic components or chemicals, with no off-gassing. Everything I read about Obasan fit the bill, so I purchased a Fundy mattress and a wool cover - and couldn’t be happier! Obasan truly was the perfect choice and completely worth the investment. The bed is so comfortable and I feel so good knowing that my daughter is sleeping free of anything harmful. We also just purchased shredded rubber pillows, and I can’t wait until they arrive. In all interactions, the customer service (John) has been simply outstanding. In today’s day and age it’s easy to forget companies are run by humans - and that is not the case with Obasan. Everything has a very human, personal touch - and John was very willing to answer every one of my questions, big or small. Thank you Obasan, we’ll be back ;)

We love our bed. Both my husband and I have very physical jobs (Stone mason and landscaper). It has been the only mattress that alleviates all of our sore spots. We totally recommend the Obasan Mattress. The velour fitted sheet is also totally awesome. You will not be disappointed.

We have absolutely loved all our experiences with Obasan. We found the company through a search for a healthy mattress for our first child, and since bought a second one for our next child. The products are amazing, the mattresses are excellent, and I am in love with my shredded rubber pillow. I even bought them for my kids. I can’t say enough about the customer service ...(John) is fantastic. John truly cared about our experience and it made us feel like valued customers. I love that I can support a local company that cares about the planet and our health, if only this was an option for all our consumer needs. I do not hesitate recommending this company.

I first found out about Obasan when I was researching a mattress for my daughter's crib (we ordered it before she was born). I wanted something for her that was comfortable, high quality and made with organic material - no off-gassing. I ordered her an Obasan crib mattress and it was perfect. Following that, we got a king-sized mattress in our bedroom - Darlie John spoke to us over the phone and customized the mattress for each side: the right mine, the left my husband's and all based on our proportions and sleep position. It is by far the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on. I love the aesthetic of the foundation, too and it's simple, minimal design is perfect for our bedroom. The pillows are also excellent, we each have one with our names embroidered on them so we know which pillow belongs to whom. They don't lose their shape or loft and they don't get hot overnight which makes sleep consistent and comfortable. Any time we travel, we miss our bed - there's no sleep quite like it. I feel strongly about supporting Canadian businesses, especially ones that care as much as Obasan does. Their craftsmanship, materials and high-touch customer service are unparalleled and you just don't get that with an inexpensive mattress that pops out of a box. I am so happy with ours and am proud we are an Obasan family.

We love our Obasan mattress. We co-sleep with our daughter and knowing that the mattress we all sleep on is non-toxic, and built without the use of chemicals and harmful byproducts is very important. Not to mention the firmness and support is perfect. We always wake up well rested. Besides, Obasan also makes the best comforters! We purchased one light and one mid weight for summer and spring/fall respectively. Then in the winter, we are able to combine the two into a super cozy and warm yet temperature regulating and breathable comforter which all of us love! No more down poking out and flying around the room. Obasan also only use ethically-sourced organic wool and organic cotton. I can’t thank them enough for making such quality products! And by the way, you won’t be able to find better customer service elsewhere either!

I have purchased three mattresses over the last 5 years. One king size for my husband and I and two doubles for our kids. We are delighted with our mattresses. SO comfortable and a big weight off the mind given then are all natural and use no toxins - hugely important to our family.

I have purchased three organic mattresses from Obasan directly. One for myself and 2 for my children. The experience has been easy and the product is great. The sales and customer service departments were a breeze to deal with. My mattresses arrived on time and were easy to build using the included instruction. I did a lot of research into organic mattresses before making this investment and ultimately decided on the Obasan product. The huge benefit you get with Obasan is the ability to customize firmness/softness at the time of purchase and the ability to make changes in the years to come.

What in incredible company! We have been purchasing items from Obasan for several years and have been so impressed with their quality, exceptional customer service and care they put with each transaction. We have bought pillows, wool duvets, and an incredible mattress that they custom made for our camper! They are the only truly 100% certified organic company that truly adheres to their philosophies! They are the only company that we will use and recommend for bedding!

We live in a remote community in northern Canada. We were desperate for a good quality crib mattress, and fast. We were so lucky to find Obasan, and to have our two daughters experience blissful sleeps for years on their beautiful mattresses. Not only was the customer service fast, friendly and highly efficient - the products are the best, and we have not come across a better mattress since. Love my Obasan mattress. The fancy hotel mattresses don't compare anymore. I can't wait to go home and sleep in my own bed after traveling for work. Obasan customer service is also great. Was pleasantly surprised when they mailed me a gorgeous wool throw as a thoughtful gesture.

Customer service is exceptional (they will do everything they can to make your experience perfect) and all of their products (we have bought sheets, mattress, mattress cover, pillows and topper) are outstanding. The workmanship and attention to detail, while being good for the planet and our health is a win for all.
