Been in the academy for a 1.5 years now. I'm honestly amazed at how much I've learned and subsequently been able to teach my dog. The community is amazing & Jay and Jack are super quick to answer questions.

As kind of a newbie, I didn’t really know what to expect, but it’s been a place I can ask questions and post videos with no judgment, and just get honest feedback and tips, the videos available to members are insanely good, well worth the free trial even if you don’t stay

I've been in the academy on and off for around 2.5yrs, and the knowledge I gained from the videos, and others in the academy is incredible! A real community feel that you don't find elsewhere!

I finally got round to going to an in person training day and I'm kicking myself for not going sooner!
I was left very disheartened and anxious after seeing another trainer and I should have just bit the bullet and gone straight to Jay!

I felt welcomed, at ease and that I was supported! I've left feeling confident, motivated and excited to get out with my dog!

I've been signposted to useful videos in the academy to build on the foundations we began to implement today, and i was given so much knowledge during the day!

If you are even slightly debating a training day/joining the academy, you will not be dissapointed! I cannot thank Obsidian k9 enough for the help and support today,its really going to change our lives!

My reactive gsd has come on leaps on bounds since joining obsidian! I had done so much research and tried so hard but it just seemed like things weren’t clicking into place. I joined the academy and started following the videos, and it was like the missing piece we needed. I have a different dog thanks to Jack and Jay, and hope to visit them in person soon.

I've personally got alot of experience in dog training but I'm always looking to learn more and expand my knowledge. I came across Obsidian K9 videos across social media and liked what I saw so joined the academy. No regrets whatsoever. I've learned so much and improved ten fold as a trainer. Doesn't matter if you're experienced or a complete beginner Obsidian WILL HELP YOU AND YOUR DOG.

Recently joined Obsidian K9 Academy - their website is highly informative. Also joined their chats in discord and I’m super surprised at how much information there is - great value for money loads of information safe space to share and lots of support Looking forward to working on a one to one.

I’ve been in the academy for over three years the knowledge of these guys is nothing short of incredible. If you can’t get to workshop or have to wait for a 1-1 the informative videos are easy to follow and will improve your handling and relationship with your dog. There’s regular workshops available, academy meet-ups where members come together for the day, help from other members and if you post footage of your training mostly same day responses with advice. If you’re looking to join do it. If a joining promotion is available take it there’s nothing to loose but everything to gain

Your dog a fanny ? They have a video how to get it no to be a fanny !
You name it and they have done a video on it and more .
On a serious note Jay covers loads with some topics you may not even have thought about and there is numerous videos that if your new you should watch like engagement etc .
There is also the community on discord where you have several categories like mindset or talk to Jay or Jack and not only them but everyone is there to offer support as its no only your dog that's a fanny as loads of ppls dogs are fanny's.

Iv had pleasure of meeting Jack and I did wonder if he was gonna be a cheap Chinese version of Jay but he's def been a great addition to the academy as Jack really knows his stuff and pretty much eats breathes and sleeps dogs when he's no combing his impressive beard.
No everyone has the funds or time to go see Jay or Jack in person but the academy is the next best thing and enables you to start dealing with any issues you have straight away.

If you ever get chance to train with them, jump at it

after spending a lot of money on trainers that were unable to help me I found Obsidian k9 and I can honestly say I haven't looked back the 2 trainers can look at a dog and tell you what the dogs problem is and teach you how to rectify it they do not work on a one fit suits all but work on a tailored plan for your dog with a superb support platform to help you on your way

I can’t express enough how much obsidian k9 have helped me and my dog reactive rescue German shepherd Logan! As soon as I brought Logan home I joined the academy and it was the best decision I made. Jay and everyone in obsidian have been so friendly and welcoming and are always there to answer any questions you have! Both mine and my dogs lives have improved no end since joining and I can’t thank jay enough for starting the academy.

I've recently joined the academy and have already learned so much. The information and videos are extremely well done and cover everything you need to know and more. The trainiers speak in easy to understand language and explain everything in detail. You can ask questions through their webchat and feel part of a huge family all trying to achieve the best for their dogs. I have been recommending all my clients to have have a look and do the 7 day free trial as you really have nothing to lose. Five stars all day long.

I joined the academy in December and I haven't looked back!!! Jay and Jack are always available to answer any questions I have. There is a chat where all the members discuss what's going on in their dog training life. Everyone is so friendly and happy to offer advise when I have encounter issues, and after sharing videos of my training everyone was really supportive. You can also meet up with like minded people for training etc. It's such a wonderful supportive community!!! I absolutely love it here.

Owning a dog, especially a dog with behavioural issues can be a very lonely world unless you have likeminded people around you to train with, moan to, get advise, encouragement and learn from. Joining obsidian was the best decision I ever made. I have the best relationships I have ever had with my dogs, and made some truly amazing friendships along the way.
The academy has enabled me to constantly learn more and more about my dogs needs. From the basics, to reactivity, to more advanced behaviours. I started my journey just wanting the bare minimum from my dogs and ended up finding a passion I never knew I had which continues to grow.
This is a community of people that come together to better the lives of all types of dogs, and I couldn’t be happier to say I’m a part of that. Jay and Jack are amazing and so incredibly knowledgeable and always on hand when needed. What an amazing academy you have built!!!

The academy is one big community of like minded people who support each other and have only one goal, to give their dog its Best Life! The knowledge, advice and support that Jay & Jack give is exceptional. I've been a member now for 9 months after joining with my reactive dog Denzel, the academy has given me the tools and confidence to build a better, stronger relationship with my dog and I'm loving the journey. I messaged obsidian k9 on Facebook about 5 weeks ago in absolute despair about some reactivity issues I’ve been having with my pup. I did previously have a different trainer who told me to try different things which only escalated the reactivity and I wasn’t sure this was also the correct advise. Desperately sent a message to Obsidian detailing the issues I was having and to my absolute delight they advised I join the academy and then come straight to open day. So off I went to open day and got a first hand look and some hands on practical experience and exposure on some set ups we did throughout the day that have now given me the confidence to be getting her out more and exposing more and how to improve her engagment with me which on the whole is already improving the reactivity side of things. I’d been told these other things that just were not working for my dog and when I told obsidian this they listened and advised me why they weren’t working, advised me to put a few tweaks here and there in and honestly I’m now enjoying my dog again! These guys are kind, down to earth and no nonsense, just good at what they do and also at supporting people! Excellent guys thank you!

Joining obsidian k9 was a game changer for me.
I joined in October 22 and had my first 1:1 with Jack.I had another with Jack and one with Jay. They both make you feel at ease , without judgement.both tailor a plan to fit your dog, and you. The online academy is there for help and advice all question answered by them. The love and passion they have for helping /training your dog to live its best life is clear to see. The hundreds of videos that break down all aspects of training and behaviour are invaluable. Obsidian k9 is a community. People cheer on your wins and help you through your struggle. My biggest lesson so far is dog training is not a quick fix, there is no magic wand. With Effort and love for your dog added to Jay and Jack’s knowledge you are definitely on to a winner

Jay and Jack have great knowledge and experience of dog behaviours and how to train the dog in front of them, but what makes them exceptional in my opinion is they know how to share that knowledge in a practical way, so that I can learn what I need too.
As a first time dog owner, there have been areas of training that I now know that I could have done better. (Before I found Obsidian!) Jay and Jack don’t judge, or mock that I am struggling with something and are always available through online academy to give feedback and advise. You definitely get the feeling that they want you to succeed and they make me see and feel that it is possible too.
Another large part is the connection to others through the academy too; building a network of people, to lift you when you are down, knowing that you are not alone and sharing with people who “just get it!” especially when family may not.
So Jay thank you for sharing your knowledge through 1:1s, Group workshops and the online platform, but also for the excellent forum for us to support each other.

These guys change the game!

The academy is easy to follow and concise. It’s broken down enough that everything feels achievable and there is constant support in the groups online.

I have had a 121 with Jack which was a breath of fresh air and changed the way I dealt with my dog for the better. I’ve seen HUGE improvements ever since and am very much looking forward to a 121 with Jay next month. They’re over 3 hours for me, but so worth the drive.

I recommend them to all of my clients with a range of challenges with their dogs, and it takes a lot for me to do that!

Honestly don't know where I'd be with my dog now if it weren't for Jack and Jay and the fantastic community and resources they've built at Obsidian K9.

I joined The Academy a few months ago to help with some issues i was having with my 2 year old German Shepherd. Jay and Jack are so dedicated to helping owners and dogs achieve their full potential. They are always happy to answer questions and analyse training videos, you basically have an on call trainer. Everyone is so friendly and helpful! Since joining The Academy I have also had a 1-1 with Jay which was extremely helpful. The vast amount of training videos uploaded weekly covers everything you can think of! I am working my way through them!
