OFFER UP IS MONEY HUNGRY...I PROMISE THEY ARE SCAMMING

When offer up first started, I was able to sell any and everything with in minutes. Now I've noticed its very hard to sell anything. I posted everything brand new, a 4 in 1 printer, portable air conditioner that cost $600' and a bissel pet vac, that does multiple things. Everything new. i posted it for $300 and i only had 4 views. paid for the 1 day promotion and only got 8 more views. How does it goes from recieving 50 views in a couple minutes, to barely nothing? This site is not posting because they want you to pay $19.99. I promise you, fb Market is better than offer up. Im done with offer up. If i was u i wouldn't waste my time with offer up.

When you set a firm price, buyers can only make offers at the posted price. They may still message you to ask if you're willing to accept a lower offer. Setting a firm price is a great option when you know what the item should cost.

I like Offerup but it is a terrible…

I like Offerup but it is a terrible experience since they let temu advertise to the extent that every page of goods you scroll through there is an equal full page of temu crap. I am shopping on Offerup NOT temu. I am a couple searches away from saying goodbye to Offerup.

Sorry I bought

I purchased 2 items from people on Offerup- and the 2 day return had passed already, the items I bought were garbage. I should have just purchased the items at the store, at least I could have returned them. Reminds me of buying at garage sales- pay money for people's crap they do not want. I'm done with Offer Up

Offer up is OK IF you inly use if for local/pick up/drop off type sales.
I for the first time shipped something and they took a large percentage of the sales and then require my tax information (?!?!) in order for me to get my payment?!? Yet, they took if from the buyer?!?
So, I went to all the bother to send the item and will not get paid!
I would not use them for anything needing shipped!!

I hope you’re doing well! When using the OfferUp Payment Solution, it's important to have a Stripe account to make or accept payments, as part of our Terms of Service.

We partner with Stripe, Inc. for payment processing, and they might ask you for some extra information, like a tax ID or Social Security Number, to help with this process.

Once that’s sorted, you'll be all set to receive payments!

Also, this is just a friendly reminder that when an item ships through OfferUp, the buyer pays the shipping costs.

As for fees, sellers are charged based on the item price. You’ll see the fee rate when you list your item and know the exact amount when you accept an offer. It’s either $1.99 or 12.9% of the item price—whichever is greater. This fee is taken out before the money is sent to you.

It is impossible to get a resolution…

It is impossible to get a resolution with any issues with them. I sold an item for $60 and they closed my account and are keeping the $60. They won't respond to my pleas in the live chat. Don't use this site!

I still have a payment pending since…

I still have a payment pending since June and they have not tried to take their money out yet. It is causing too much of a headache. Now I can't download any new apps because they refuse to take their payment.

Offer up allows some of the sellers to make offers that they can't backup. Once my money was gone Offer up sent me in circles trying to get it back. The customer service number would not answer, the hoops your made to jump through lead you no where. I was a long time member but no more. Buyer beware.

A great app if you want to hate people.

Good luck getting any “customers” to answer you back. It’s constantly, “Is this still available?” with my reply, “Yes it is! Are you interested? I can meet you wherever.” followed by crickets. Every. Single. Time! It’s like talking in to a void with this app. And good luck having OfferUp actually doing anything about it I’ve sent an incredible amount of reports about all of these ghosters and have yet to get a single follow up.

They charged me for fast track

They charged me for fast track, which means they are suppose to release the funds into your account after the buyer had inspected the item. The funds did not get released. They said the system will automatically release the funds after 2 days. I said, that's NOT what I paid for. The buyer has already inspected the item and approved it. I paid extra for what exactly???? FRAUDULENT COMPANY!!!

Sick of adds!

I have been using offerup since it started, i have not been able to sell my items on there, even at cheap prices. I've bought a few random things off there. But I now refuse to use their site, I'm sick of the political adds that are on there now. I wish these politicians would spend their money actually helping people in need instead of advertising all their promises they fully intend to NOT keep!

My first time shipping an item on offer up .1 month and I still haven’t gotten paid. I emailed them multiple times still no answer. Please think twice before trying to ship anything on offer up. I hope this comment helps someone .

Worst customer service imaginable

Worst customer service imaginable. The level of incompetence from OfferUp's customer service is so bad it has to be a goal for them. I signed up several times over the years and my iPhone defaulted to the hide my email feature which led to my phone number being associated with several accounts. Since, I no longer have the randomly generated emails that were created with my iPhone the app wont allow me to verify my number so that I can list items. I have literally told this to customer service, in an exchange spanning 10 emails, several times only to be told over and over again to just go ahead and verify my number because it's just a standard security protocol. A bunch of !di0t$. AVOID OfferUp app or use it at your own peril.

I inadvertently hit the premium and…

I inadvertently hit the premium and tried to cancel literally within a minute and I was denied a refund. THEN, I had a very strange man inquiring about an item I am selling that wanted my name, address, phone number and email. After several exchanges, I realized he wasn't looking to purchase the item. You can guess what he was after. This app is filled with creeps and criminals AND the service sucks! Sell on FB marketplace or somewhere else. NOT WORTH IT!!

Use another site.

As other have pointed out, your account may be terminated suddenly, without warning, and most importantly without explanation. I had almost 20 reviews over six months or so, equally split between sales and purchases, and all 5 of 5 stars—and my account was permanently terminated with no explanation. Repeated inquiries were ignored, and half completed transactions lost. Terrible.

Offer up used to be good maybe a year ago but now it’s just a marketing scam. If you don’t pay no one sees your public post. Scam scam scam. I wish I could give it zero stars if I could.

I got removed from offer up they removed my account because supposedly them I wasn’t following there’s rules of guidelines! But they don’t tell me exactly why. Because they don’t want me to tell people off because there’s a lot of scammers in there. Oh and so those people do tell me off and I’m supposed to let myself! Oh but they do allow a lot of scammers on there! Why don’t they be right and fair remove all the people there that are scammers remove there account! ! From there own website! Ridiculous website! Don’t post ur items there.

Offer Up: Little More Than A Self-Defeating Fraud

June 17, 2024: Here are just a few problems I encountered on my first (and only) transaction with OfferUp:
1. I paid for four small plastic items but he only sent three. There is no way of contacting the seller by phone, email, or even through OfferUp.
2. OfferUp gives each victim an unrealistic short window of a scant 48 hours to determine if he was defrauded. If the victim is away, in the hospital, or has other typical unavoidable delays, he's 100% screwed by OfferUp.
3. Filing a "claim" [sic] with OfferUp is impossible, since the operator refuses to provide instructions on how to file a claim... much less in two days.
4. Leaving feedback is equally impossible, since he provides no instructions on how to leave comments.
5. Sellers are not obligated to take down listings that have been sold or are no longer available.
6. Sellers are free to ignore legitimate repeated inquiries if they whimsically decide they don't want to sell the item.
7. Sellers are allowed to sign up and collect money from bank cards with no verification of their address or phone number.
8. "Help" [sic] from OfferUp is limited to vague, impossible remedies, most of which are, by specific design, impractical or simply not lawfully defined.
9. OfferUp is a one-man operation by someone who only IDs himself with the moniker "Jon".
10. OfferUp's search page is often corrupted to the point it's useless.
11. OfferUp discourages contact by phone or email: therefore, it's easy to see why listings last anywhere from weeks to years without a hit.
12. “Jon” freely allows sellers to post the same ads over and over, frustrating the site with clutter and impacting buyers’ search efforts.
13. “Reply Rate”, “Confirmed Phone” and “Confirmed email” links are all fake. A Google search shows this seller I dealt with is listed in several locations within a 500-mile radius, with the same name, spelling and locations as posted in his OfferUp ads. There are no emails and ALL his phones are disconnected.
14. OfferUp should be renamed "Show 'N' Tell" because that's all it's good for.

SUMMARY: OfferUp is NOT recommended. It is risky, unpredictable, unlicensed anywhere, unregulated, unreliable and without recourse.

This stupid, 4th-grade yahoo can’t even read a calendar. “3-5 business days” does not begin October 24 and end December 13.

So, what’s the "good news"?

Have you launched your magical new way for users to contact each other without using telephone, email or your website?

Have you replaced your ridiculous, idiotic 48-hour complaints window with one that gives your naive victims a fighting chance at being treated fairly?

Have you used your ingenious brain to create a way for users to file a claim or post feedback?

Have you made it mandatory sellers reply to inquiries within 3 work days, and remove expired listings, instead of letting them languish for several years?

Have you budgeted some of your prolific capital back into that great Customer Service you're so proud of?

0 to 0 success in selling AND difficulty in posting.
When it was owned by “LET GO” alone, it was just the opposite. Simple to use and much success in posting AND selling. LET GO was the best!! Wish it was back.
