A Natale mi hanno regalato un panettone Olivieri e lo abbiamo trovato davvero buonissimo. Così per le festività pasquali ho acquistato una colomba classica. Purtroppo è stata una delusione incredibile. La morbidezza del panettone, che si scioglieva in bocca, assolutamente non presente, addirittura è risultata asciutta. Un’altra consistenza. Pochissimi canditi, buoni si ma ne sono capitati 2 o 3 a fetta! Ho fatto anche una pessima figura con gli ospiti, dato che l’avevo decantata tanto. Assolutamente non è valsa la spesa. Peccato

La Colomba, pur appartenendo alla stessa famiglia dei grandi lievitati, può presentare una struttura e una percezione leggermente diverse rispetto al panettone, ma quanto descrive merita sicuramente un approfondimento da parte nostra.

Not worth the price.
The products arrived in good shape, and were well packaged.
The panettone was moist, but to my wife's and my taste it was really not demonstrably better than the much cheaper ones we've eaten and available via Amazon. The numbers of raisins and orange were paltry.
The colombo cake was, to not put too fine a point on it, terrible: while it was soft to chew it left a bitter and unpleasant aftertaste. It was also "dirty": the stuff on the top continually and easily fell off when the cake was being handled, and I had to use a mop and vacuum cleaner afterward to get up all the sugar and whatnot. We concluded that the product was so awful that we simply threw it out.
Nice packaging, OK panettone, lousy other cake = not worth the high cost.

We would like to clarify an important aspect, especially for those who may be less familiar with this traditional Italian product. The topping of the Colomba (made with almonds and a sugar glazes )is completely natural and artisanal, without preservatives or additives. For this reason, it is normal for parts of the glaze to detach and crumble when cutting or handling the cake. This is actually a characteristic of authentic Colomba: even in our own bakery, small pieces of the glaze fall off during serving.
Regarding the taste, the slightly bitter note you perceived can come from the natural almond glaze, which contrasts with the sweetness of the dough and is typical of the traditional recipe. We understand that this flavor profile may be unexpected if you are used to different types of cakes.
As for the Panettone, our recipe focuses on balance and digestibility, with carefully selected ingredients rather than an overload of inclusions, but we respect that taste is very personal.
That said, we are truly sorry that the overall experience did not meet your expectations, and we take your feedback seriously. If you would like, we would be happy to assist you further or suggest products that might better suit your preferences.

Colomba e Panettone TOP consegna decisamente no
Colomba e Panettone davvero buoni, abbiamo più volte ordinato da Olivieri1882 rimanendo sempre soddisfatti per la qualità dei prodotti.
Il servizio di consegna non è purtroppo allo stesso livello ed è davvero una cosa stucchevole. Oggi per esempio hanno provato ad effettuare la consegna con corriere UPS presso un punto di ritiro (mentre io in fase di acquisto ho indicato il mio civico di residenza), fallendo comunque la consegna, visto che si sono presentati fuori dall'orario di apertura di quel punto di ritiro. La vostra immagine è influenzata anche dal servizio di consegna che scegliete.

Purtroppo, in questi casi specifici, la gestione della consegna (come il reindirizzamento verso un access point o il tentativo fuori orario) dipende direttamente dal corriere e dalle sue logiche operative locali, sulle quali non abbiamo un controllo diretto. Questo non toglie però che il disagio che ha vissuto sia reale e ci dispiace sinceramente.

Bougie Christmas Treat
I fear the world does not really know what a Pannetone should taste like because they've been buying the mass produced ones during the holidays from Trader Joe's or [insert grocery store name here]. When I read the New York Times review of Olivieri's Pannetone, I scoffed at the price. Surely no slice of bread is worth that amount of money. I am known in our household as the big spender and my spouse tends to be the more frugal one. When I mentioned to my Italian husband that there is a Pannetone that costs $100, he immediately knew the one and said "DID YOU BUY IT?" When I said no, almost proud of my restraint, and saw his disappointment, I was shocked. Shocked, I say!
Needless to say, you know where this went. We bought it, and it was truly heavenly.
Be forewarned, these people take their sweet time baking your Pannetone. You will get it when you get it. We were told we'd get it right before Christmas Eve and that was indeed when it arrived. (We ordered it some 5 or 6 weeks earlier).
Around the February Valentine's holiday, we ordered another Pannetone and it was also very good. Once again, it took quite some time to arrive. Whaddya think, they just toss these in the oven overnight? This bread takes time to bake. And they hang it upside down! Fascinating to Google it.
I've gone on enough. It's very bougie. It's very expensive. It's a treat. Do it for the holidays. You won't be disappointed.
