Avoid at all costs.

OneDome provided a conveyancing firm for me as part of a package including a mortgage advisor.
The conveyancing firm has been shut down a month after my.completion date and the firm did not complete all the actions required. The property has not been registered with the land registry and the first charge has not been done.

OneDome are refusing to pay to rectify this.

I would never ever use OneDome again and recommend anybody else avoids them too.

A Disappointing and Stressful Experience – Not the Service Advertised

I regret to say that my experience with OneDome and their partner CMME mortgages, has been overwhelmingly negative. I was drawn in by the promise of a comprehensive and hassle-free service – particularly appealing given the complexities of purchasing a property as a contractor. Unfortunately, the reality fell well short of this promise. From the outset, I was given incorrect advice by the mortgage advisor regarding the rules around breaks between contracts. I was told that the time between contracts was unlimited and would not impact my mortgage application. This turned out to be factually inaccurate and led to significant delays, administrative difficulties, and unnecessary stress further down the line. The conveyancing solicitors (XYZ) recommended by CMME and OneDome appeared disengaged and uncoordinated. They failed to identify and advise on the presence of adjacent social housing – an issue that materially affected my decision-making. Furthermore, they were operating from documentation that differed from that of the developer, leading to key financial details being missed. This resulted in a last-minute demand for funds immediately prior to completion. The much-advertised OneDome online portal, purportedly designed to streamline communication, was not utilised by all parties involved in the transaction. As a result, I found myself in the frustrating position of acting as an intermediary — repeatedly relaying updates to the developer and chasing responses from parties who should have been liaising directly. Perhaps most troubling was the handling of the Home Buyer Service fee. OneDomes' website clearly states that this payment is due only after completion. However, I was informed on the day of completion that the purchase would not go ahead unless the fee was paid immediately. This amounted to coercion and fundamentally undermined the trust I had placed in the service. It also contradicts the stated terms under which the service was sold to me. Since completion, I have raised these concerns with CMME & OneDome. The only response I have received was to deflect responsibility for the solicitors, directing me instead to their formal complaints procedure (a complaint they have since ignored). No meaningful follow-up or accountability has been offered. In summary, I paid a substantial fee for what was marketed as a full-service, client-focused experience. What I received instead was a fragmented, poorly managed, and stressful process — one where I ended up doing much of the coordination myself. Had I known in advance what this service actually entailed, I would have gone elsewhere. I would strongly urge others, especially contractors, to approach with caution and seek alternative providers.

Getting a mortgage can be challeneging with self employed, but it wasn't with CMME

We were on and off with moving for a long time. Ben Goble was great, everytime I got in touch to communicate we were starting the process again, he was ready to start off and helped ensuring we were able to get the property we wanted.
During the process once our offer was accepted Ben was excellent explaining the situation with myself and my husband (who is self employed) to make sure we were ready and prepared with what was needed.
There were a couple of times Ben didn't always acknowledge our emails straight away but his team Lisa Meddings would always help where she could. Sometimes we felt not all options were explained fully, so we ended up changing our mortgage a couple of times to make sure the price was right for us. But overall it was a pleasant experience.

Quite useful for tracking application but slightly pointless

Was quite a useful system to keep track of my mortgage application, although sometimes it wasn't very clear when documents were required from me or what those documents were. Several times emails from Onedome just said "You have a task to complete, please login to the Onedome portal" . It would have been useful to know what the task was in the email.

Also there just didn't seem much point to it as I had a mortgage broker and a solicitor so it just seemed like an extra thing to keep track of in an already hugely complex process.

The communication and clear intent to…

The communication and clear intent to keep me abreast of the process was excellent. Both Paul and Helena, were clear and concise in their handling of my case and made the process smooth. When the other parties involved in my conveyance presented obstacles Helena was excellent in finding ways to expedite the process and solve all issues. All in all a great service and I will be returning to CMME at my next remortgage.

Danielle Richardson was fantastic with…

Danielle Richardson was fantastic with helping during my experience of buying my first home.

Really helpful with everything. Constantly gave me fast updates. Really helpful with questions I had about my level 2 survey I had done and questions I had for the estate agents in relation to that. Kept me updated loads during completion day via calls and emails.

Couldn't have asked for someone better to help.

Between putting my offer in and completion it was a total of 7 weeks and 6 days. Amazing timeframe.

Danielle the super star!

We sold a property and used Danielle as our Property move assistant. We couldn’t have asked for a better service, kept me updated, did all the chasing of both my agent and conveyancer and took almost all the stress out of the sale. Would highly recommend!

Poor website UX and repeated data loss

I would complete a form with all required fields filled, and the submission process would strip random answers out, so that I would have to re-fill the data all over again.

Don't even get me started on the ID verification check process. The website pipes through a third-party provider to OneDome and prompts the browser for camera and microphone access, which it CANNOT recognise.

I had to work around it by finding the iframe source link and going there directly to use a microphone and camera. Forget about using your phone camera for this.

I would like to add that this is no reflection on the agents I have been in contact with, who have been brilliant and professional. This review is directed at the poor UX of the website itself.

Efficient service

Christina was fantastic! She was incredibly efficient, organised, and made the entire process smooth and stress-free. I was confident I could leave it all in her hands, all I had to do was wait for updates. Everything was handled with care and professionalism. I highly recommend her services!

Poor service from solicitors

Stacey at CMME arranged for me to transfer the current mortgage on our house into my name so that I can port the mortgage to a property I am trying to purchase and move to - it’s meant to be a new start in life for me. Stacey helped secure a mortgage offer for my husband, with the intention of him buying me out so that I can complete my purchase. She was really helpful in both cases.

The problem started when we started using their recommended solicitor, xyz. All they need to do is a transfer of equity.

It has now been six weeks since they were instructed with no progress. The solicitor at xyz does not respond to emails and calls, and keeps stalling. He is not focusing on the case and keeps forgetting the details of what we need, and is not proactive. Stacey and Christina from CMME have been trying to help us, by talking to the managers, which only gets a small response. For example earlier this week, after Christina spoke to them, they promised the solicitor would call my husband before midday on Wednesday. Instead there was nothing, only a missed call at 6pm and an email full of excuses. This was after 2 weeks of silence, despite him being emailed. My husband tried to talk to him yesterday, again with no response.

The right thing for One Dome to do would be to give us our money back, because if the service is not provided, then I consider this theft.

The only thing we are waiting for is the transfer of equity and I can’t complete my purchase without it. I don’t know how long the sellers are going to wait. One Dome needs to do the right thing. Give us our money back so that we can engage a solicitor who cares and won’t cause such enormous anxiety and a negative impact on others. My trust in this organisation is very low as a result of this experience.

EDIT: Fortunately my purchase completed. I'm still disappointed in XYZ however. Even the release of funds, which should've been straightforward, wasn't. I think for future reference they should really make sure they stay on top of their communication, with regular updates and clear communucation on time frames.

I would like to offer high praise to the gang at CMME however, who really helped to push things along.

Used OneDome HomeBuyers Service

Their overall service was good. Their mortgage team CMME (Andy) helped us secure a great deal. Although the solicitors that they used was often un-responsive, their PMA team (Danielle) was very responsive and chased the relevant people around. The service was reliable, cost-effective, and a real time-saver.
